The adoption of electric vehicles has been increasing around the globe, and almost all automakers are busy electrifying their lineup. But driving an EV may not be as hassle-free as some had thought, as YouTube star Marques Brownlee explains in a recent video on his Auto Focus channel.
Brownlee, who has over 16 million subscribers on his namesake main channel, is known for making technology-focused videos and driving a Tesla.
As the story goes, Brownlee went to a local mall to get food. A woman saw him arriving in a Tesla, flagged him down, and asked for help. As it turns out, she parked her son’s Tesla Model 3 at a ChargePoint charging station at the mall but could not get it to charge.
Brownlee explained to her that to charge a Tesla at a ChargePoint charging station, she would need an adapter. Since the woman didn’t seem to know what that was, Brownlee helped her open the trunk, find the adapter, and connect the EV to the charger. She also didn’t have a ChargePoint account, so Brownlee explained to her how to pay to start the session without requiring an account.
Once everything was set up, Brownlee headed inside the mall.
After grabbing his takeout, Brownlee headed back to his car but was flagged down by the woman again. He went to check and found that the charging still hadn’t started.
“At this point, I’m like, this could be one of those things where you don’t know what’s wrong,” he said.
He then noticed that the car next to hers was charging properly but the person had crossed the wire from one side to the next, perhaps realizing that one of the charging stations was broken.
The video, titled “This is ruining electric cars,” has been watched nearly 2 million times.

The importance of charging infrastructure

Brownlee pointed out that the charging infrastructure is “just as important to the electric car experience as the car itself.”
“Imagine explaining to your parents, your grandparents, or anyone who’s not super adept with technology especially, that instead of going to a gas station, they need to make sure they find a working charger with the right adapter and all this — it might take longer, it might be a slower charger, it might be broken.”
And it could be a major hurdle to electric car adoption.
“There’s been versions of this before, where people are actually, genuinely mad, like ‘I don’t think the electric car thing is for me,’” Brownlee remarked, adding that there are countless examples that keep bringing this to light.
While it’s true that the EV charging experience may not be as smooth as some had hoped, the infrastructure is rapidly evolving.
Here’s a look at three companies that are installing charging stations across the country. With an increasing number of EVs on the road, this trio stands to make money. Wall Street also sees upside in them.

ChargePoint Holdings

Even though Brownlee didn’t have a pleasant experience with that particular ChargePoint charging station, the company is solidly positioned for the EV boom.
ChargePoint Holdings (CHPT) has one of the largest EV charging networks in the world. It has around 5,000 commercial and fleet customers, including 80% of Fortune 50 companies. Since its inception, ChargePoint has delivered more than 158 million charging sessions.
EV stocks weren’t market darlings in 2022 and this EV infrastructure play was caught in the sell-off as well. Despite the bounce in 2023, ChargePoint shares are down 47% over the last 12 months.
That could give bargain hunters something to think about.
JPMorgan analyst Bill Peterson has an ‘overweight’ rating on ChargePoint and a price target of $15 — roughly 53% above where the stock sits today.

Blink Charging

With a market cap of around $450 million, Blink Charging (BLNK) is a relatively underfollowed name in the world of EV stocks.
Shares have been on a rollercoaster ride.
At the beginning of 2020, Blink Charging was trading at less than $2 per share. It shot up to over $60 per share in January 2021 before losing momentum. Today, it’s at $7.50.
Blink has deployed more than 58,000 EV charging ports across 25 countries. It uses proprietary-based software that operates, maintains, and tracks the EV stations connected to its network.
In Q4 of 2022, revenue rose 184% from a year ago to $22.6 million.
The increasing adoption of EVs should continue to fuel growth in Blink’s business.
Roth MKM analyst Craig Irwin has a ‘buy’ rating on Blink and a price target of $25 — implying a potential upside of 233%.

Tesla (TSLA)

Tesla (TSLA) has long been the go-to choice for people looking for EV stocks — its market cap is now several times bigger than Ford and General Motors combined. But other than being an EV manufacturer, it’s also a play on charging infrastructure.
Tesla has deployed over 40,000 Superchargers around the globe. Notably, these Superchargers can add up to 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
“Since charging above 80 percent is rarely necessary, stops are typically short and convenient,” the company says.
As an EV maker, Tesla’s business is going in the right direction. In 2022, the company delivered 1,313,851 EVs, representing a 40% increase year over year.
Barclays analyst Dan Levy has an ‘overweight’ rating on Tesla and a price target of $275. Since shares trade at around $195 today, the price target implies a potential upside of 41%.

So thanks to my great luck the car I'm planning on trading in has a check engine light on (2012 Mazda3 ~97k miles). Place wants ~$1000 to replace a fuel injector and clean the valves. Car vibrates a small amount at idle but otherwise drives seemingly OK and has for a couple weeks with the light on. While I'm not a mechanic that price to repair seems absolutely insane.
Basically, what the heck do I do? Is it more advantageous to bite the bullet now up front, or just take what the dealer will give me for trade in in 2-3 weeks?

Description of Original Problem: The pc crashed twice while playing cyberpunk. The first Time the screen went blank and all my fans were running super high, had to reset manually. After the restart the GPU drivers didn’t work so I had to reinstall them. The second time the pc just randomly restarted while ingame after that my keyboard didn’t work for a couple of minutes. Also the CPU runs quite hot while playing Cyberpunk My GPU runs at about 75C with peaks at 82C the CPU runs at about 72C with peaks at 80C
Troubleshooting:

1. Reinstall the drivers
   
2. Checked all the connectors from the psu
   
3. Capped the fps at 65
   
4. Reinstalled the cooler, RAM, all the connectors.
   

I’ve read online that it could be a PSU related problem but I refuse to believe that 750W is not enough for that system.

Going to see a car tomorrow as mine is on its way out and want something a bit newer and more reliable. I don’t have a huge amount of money to do to a dealership so going private. The car I currently own Has had problems with it since it bought it. Replaced head gasket and was running great for months but been getting some white smoke and engine temperature problems. When going to see cars I always look at the oil filler cap now for the dreaded chocolate milk out of fear of being sold a car like this again. However I know condensation can gather making it appear slightly milky, is here a good rule of thumb to tell if the engine is blown or if it’s just condensation. I know plastic cam covers can be quite bad for condensation Any tips on how to tell/ anything else out of the usual checks that I should look for

I have a 2008 Bronco. Ran great until last year when I upgraded to a Toro zero turn. I still have a use as mostly a lawn tractor but now I can’t get her started to save my life.
Things I’ve done- -fresh fuel -new spark plug -new battery -new starter motor -new ignition coil -new ignition
The mower on turning the key cranks but won’t fire. I took the spark plug out to test and have spark. Checked all my safety switches and nothing.
On the carburetor fuel inlet there appears to be a blockage. No amount of air or carb cleaner would drain out when poured in through the inlet. Wasn’t sure if there was a float inside preventing or if there’s a true blockage. However even spraying gas directly into the carb when cranking delivers no results. Am I toast or am I missing something?

Hi everyone, I’m Zytah. I’m a long time role player with over 20 years of experience. Recently, I’ve found myself in need of a new roleplaying partner after spending over 10 years RPing with the same person. I would really like to find something steady and long term with someone new who I can connect with on a personal level and collaborate with on a creative one.
I’m a 34-year-old married mother of two, and would prefer to find another female RPer around the same age as me, but no younger than 25. I can usually post at least once or twice a week, but sometimes posts can be delayed for two weeks depending on circumstances or the length of the post I’m working on. I do have young children at home and sometimes it can be difficult for me to find the time to write, so I’m hoping to find a patient RP partner that is understanding of that.
I almost exclusively write MxF or MxFxM, but in rare cases I can write FxF for the right character or situation. I do prefer to play male characters wherever possible, but I can play female as well. The majority of my characters fit the crime genre as they are either involved in law enforcement or are criminals. I’ve spent many years developing them. All of them exist in the same world together and many know or have histories with each other, so really I’m looking to create new plots for them, potential ships, further world building, etc. The current world they live in is modern realistic with hints of supernatural elements.
I do have several mains and have a tendency to write for multiple characters at once, so my post length can widely vary in size from 300 to >3,000 words. It really depends on how inspired I am at the time, how much effort you’ve put in in your own posts, and how many characters I’m writing for. You can generally expect multiple paragraphs.

I’m a huge fan of writing erotica. That being said, I’m not looking to base any RP around it. I don’t like rushing to smut or sacrificing the storyline just to get to it faster. Cradling the pendant in his hand, Nash opened a small, square box that was just off to the side of his workbench, and carefully set the necklace inside. He stood to his feet, clicked the lamp off, slipped on his coat, then proceeded to lock up the small warehouse, his home away from home, where he'd been holed up for most of the night. His first inhalation outside the shop came in sharp pricks as he drew one smooth, long breath of cold air deep within his lungs. He wore a black parka with the fur hood flipped back, a gray shirt and dark fitted jeans. He'd started down the road until he reached a sidewalk and made it to the first red light at the intersection up ahead when he felt the subtlest of sensations, feather light, brush against his clothes. A breeze? No, he thought, something about it was different. His hands shifted just as someone passed him, the person's clothes—a slim fit hooded leather jacket and matching pants—cut a silhouette of what could only belong to a man, and had Nash instinctively pressing a palm over where he kept the necklace safe.
Gone.
That man had taken it.
"Hey—!" It was too late. The light turned green. The man was running. And running fast. "Dammit—" Nash hissed, and sprang on his heel and started to run after him.
And could he move.
A sudden burst of adrenaline fueled his steps, and carried him straight across the intersection in three strides, horns blaring in his wake. He chased the man down the street and around the corner, cutting left, right, left again, with a speed that undoubtedly matched his own. Strangely enough though, the man in the hood didn't seem all that bothered by the idea that his mark was now after him. He didn't look over his shoulder to check how far ahead he was. Nor did he hesitate on where to go. In fact, it almost seemed as though he'd already had a predetermined route in mind, like for the past few minutes he'd been leading Nash somewhere. But where?
A quick glance at his surroundings, and Nash quickly gathered they would soon close in on the train tracks that ran directly through the city. Nash tailed him around the corner and hesitated a moment, not sure whether to go after the man or not, or how far he could continue to keep up. Of course, in the end, he chose to go after him. Because even though they were coming up on the tracks, they'd need to cross a steep incline, a hill, just to get there, and Nash was always good at running on hills. If he could just stay on him to the incline, he knew he could catch him. He wasn't getting away. He wouldn't let him. Nash picked up the pace as much as he could, and then went a notch over that.

Hello all, So I've been chasing as issue on my jeep for a little now and wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. 1996 country 4.0
the Issue : Jeep has (3) codes, P0118, P0132, P0108. jeep will start fine at cold start, idles slightly rough, once its at operating temp it dies. if I take it for a spin it will surge and buck and die when coming to a stop. Normally if I put it in neutral before I get to stop I can keep it running by giving it a little gas or if it does die I can start it up quickly. Other symptom of note is that when at operating temperature when trying to start it again it will long crank and not start, and then start when I crank it again.
What I've done to remedy issue: was/is fairly certain this was ground related. I did the big 7 cable kit from jeepcables and cleaned all of my engine bay grounds (used a Dremel to remove paint, wire brushed everything, sprayed it off with brake cleaner, Wire brushed the bolts and screws as well.) Also cleaned the ground in the back hatch because I knew had an issue back there since my turn signals weren't working correctly due to some ones hack job trying to wire trailer lights. That is all done now, my turn signals work correctly but the issue remains. The sensors that are throwing codes were also replaced just in-case(coolant temp, O2 sensor, MAP sensor). recently I've been spending time inspecting wiring within the engine bay, the only issues of note was some minor damage to a wire for the temp sensor and the fuel injector plugs have bare wire showing where the wires come out of the plug (they are not touching). I fixed the temp sensor wire and I ordered some replacement plugs for the injectors to repair the few that don't look great, also have a new ignition coil on the way which I don't think is the issue but they are cheap to replace since I haven't replaced that yet.
current plan is to continue to inspect wiring and plugs within engine bay replace as needed, going to double check and clean grounds again probably solder new ring terminals on anything that's questionable. But mainly wanted to see if there is anything else that I should be looking at?

2013 Honda Accord Sport 2.4L I-4, CVT transmission, 78,000 mi. Recent work done: fluids change, spark plug replacement.
I hear a clicking sound on in the cabin when the car travels around 70 MPH. It sounds plastic-y. The clicking sound occurs during acceleration and deceleration at around 70 MPH. The sound seems to come from underneath the driver's side dashboard.
What is a checklist of things I should check to determine the source and cause of the sound?

James lounged on the deck of Tanier and Ferria's flying ship enjoying the sunshine as it barely began to set, a tankard of ale in one hand and a Vatrian to Petravian translation guide in the other. It was one of the few things that he and Amina had had time to actually buy, among a few other small odds and ends, before he had accidentally plunged things back into chaos.
"Glag! Get back here!" He heard Amina exclaim as she chased the small rock monster around the ship in a circle. In her outstretched hands was James's green medallion on a chain. She slammed into one of the barrels that was tied down on the deck and it wobbled a bit. Fast as she was, Glag was small, and remarkably nimble. "Stay still you decrepit pile of boulders!" She demanded.
"Glag!" Glag exclaimed back.
"It's bad enough we had to rush our departure!" Tanier said from his position on the opposite end of the ship, near the wheel. "If you and your damnable Glag damage it, or any of the supplies, I will personally launch you over the railing!"
James chuckled a bit. Amina had asked him if his medallion had allowed him to understand Glag. James had, with only mild mischievousness in mind, told her that it hadn't, but that it might work if Glag wore it.
He'd left out the part where he'd already tried that before she'd even emerged from their room. It had turned out that either the medallion didn't work on Glag, or else he was simply saying "Glag." for the sake of saying it.
He'd also left out the part where Glag had attempted to devour the medallion, which was made of magically imbued Jade, and that James had then grown visibly scared and upset. Once Glag had pushed the Medallion back out of his form James had made him promise to never touch it again just in case. He'd explained how important it was and that he needed it more than almost any other gear he had. Glag had listened with what James had hoped was understanding.
And as Amina had first attempted to put the medallion on the stone creature, he had been proven correct in that hope.
The following game of tag had been going on for nearly thirty minutes now. Some of Tanier's crew were even placing bets.
"JAMES!" She exclaimed as she leapt over one of the various crates and missed Glag as he reversed his momentum almost instantly and rolled underneath her leap like a ball. "Help me out here!"
To make matters even funnier, Gorna the centaur was attempting to help her "mistress".
And she was not doing well.
"Oh! Hon, Gorna's got your back!" He said, hiding a smirk, as he pointed at the centaur with his ale hand. "Maybe this great challenge will be enough to count as having been served ably by her! Just... Just a thought." He sipped. "Besides I think I'm too drunk to catch him!" He fibbed as a few of the deckhands nearby laughed. "Keep trying though. I'm sure he'll tire soon."
As if on cue Glag rolled under and between Gorna's front and rear legs. Amina slammed into the centaur face first and was almost clothes-lined in the process.
"My lady!" Gorna exclaimed as she rushed to move out of the way AND help Amina up.
Amina ignored her and rolled under her then began looking for Glag.
"Over there Princess!" One of the deckhands said with a nod.
"Glag!" Glag exclaimed, and James thought he heard a hint of joy in the grating, rumbling voice. He was almost over near Tanier, having ascended the stairs to the next deck up in a leap.
"Dammit!" Amina hissed as she ran after him.
James just laughed and went back to reading the book. He had no intention of actually LEARNING Vatrian, but he figured a few key phrases might be useful down the road.
"GLAAAG!"Glag yelled as he heard a crash from somewhere behind Tanier and the ship's wheel.
"Oh shit." He said as he quickly placed the drink and book down and rushed over.

Driscoll woke up to a sensation that was, at least partly, familiar. What wasn't familiar was the series of sensations accompanying it.
He was floating.
But he was also wet.
And he could smell the water and the..... flowers(?)... that were in it. And.... candles.
His suit could float just fine if it needed to. Reinforced balloons could be inflated or deflated as needed to help him get to the surface of the ocean if he needed to. They were primarily for recovery purposes. But many of his kind used them to assist with vertical traversal when in the deep ocean as well.
But if he was in his suit than how could he be wet? And how could he smell anything other than the cleaning moisturizer that their suit applied to their skin to keep it from drying out? Or the rubber seals and circuitry as they warmed up during times of action?
And how could he feel his.
MY HANDS AND LEGS!?!?!
He lurched up using only his back and the momentum from rocking his head, which temporarily dunked it back under the water.
"Woah!" A familiar, and much too loud, voice said as a hand clamped down on his collarbone. "Relax!"
By reflex Driscoll's hands clasped onto the large, clawed, furred, hand and attempted to dislodge it using the same nerve commands that he would have used in the suit. The result was that his hands began to squeeze, attempting to crush the arm of his would be assailant the way he would have in the suit. The hand holding him was massive, and even placed just above his sternum it almost wrapped around his neck.
There was a slight pop from the massive animal's arm.
"Ow." The familiar voice said calmly. Then a second, equally massive, hand grabbed his left hand. "Relax sardine."
And as the hand gripped his and slowly, but with incredible gentleness, pulled his hand away. Driscoll FELT the fur on the hands.
As if flipping a switch in his mind he realized he could also FEEL the one he'd been trying to get off of him too.
"What?" He asked. "What's happening?"
He looked around and realized that he was in a bath of some kind, though the tub was massive, inside a house.
And... he had hands.
They weren't.... Well, they weren't his hands. Not really. They couldn't be. He'd had his hands amputated nearly fifteen years ago due to chemical burns and necrosis.
Besides, these hands were massive, and covered in red fur that faded to black as it neared his... claws? They reminded him of images he'd seen of professional basketball players pre-war.
"Driscoll?" The voice asked. Driscoll looked at it and saw the feline featured face of Chief Vickers. "Relax." He said. "Lie back down."
"Vickers?" He asked. "It.... It worked?" He asked as he held his new hand up in front of his face and moved it. It actually moved when he told it to. And it had none of the micro-lag that they'd had to train to overcome when they'd first had their interfaces mapped into their suits.
Then he heard a splash and realized that he was feeling....
His head snapped down past Vickers' arm and saw legs. Actually, honest to god, legs.
Like the hands they were long. Incredibly long. Awkwardly, lankily, long actually. The joints had been rearranged in a way that was like a dogs or cats, and they ended in paws. They also had the same red-to-black fade as his hands, though the toes had white fur around the ends.
But when he told his right foot to kick it did, sending a small splash of water over the edge of the tub.
He felt a different wetness then, as his eyes welled up.
He had arms.
He had legs.
For the first time since he'd turned thirteen. Since he'd watched as a cloud of deadly gas and debris and other types of fallout had washed over the middle school parking lot his mom had just dropped him off at. He had a body all of his own. A working body.
"I.... I lived?" He asked. "It worked?"
"Yeah." Vickers said as he gently lowered the, now former, muck marcher back into the water gently and let him float there. "Yeah. You're good. Just gotta recover a bit."
He hadn't expected to survive the ordeal. Not after Vickers and the other two were-folk had explained what would happen, and how low his odds were. He'd expected his body to be overcome by the transformation and give up, or for his mind to break. On the latter, he had almost been proven right. He remembered the pain, as flesh began to tear and bones had begun to break. As implants used to keep him alive had been expelled violently, and his Can had been ejected like a champagne cork. He remembered the smell and remembered how, as he had thrashed about, he had placed his hands in something that was supposed to be inside it.
He remembered using lungs that could barely breath on their own to scream a wail of death that any metal front man would have died to have in their vocal arsenal.
Then he'd passed out.
And now in a warm tub full of fragrant water, who knew how many hours or days later, he was not only alive. He was whole again.
He was, for all intents and purposes, reborn.
Then he remembered that he hadn't undergone the process alone.
He reached up, still marveling at the concept of having a hand that he could FEEL, and tried to grab Vickers' sleeve. He miscalculated and ended up almost pushing the SEAL off of the edge of the tub. But he braced himself in time and looked down at Driscoll curiously.
"Five?" Driscoll asked. "Is she?..." He trailed off.
"Alive." Driscoll said. "Still out though." He pulled something out of the bag he'd been rummaging in, and Driscoll smelled it somehow. "I'll check on her in a second for now-"
"Steak?" Driscoll asked. "Uncooked? But-" Without even realizing it he emitted a noise that wasn't quite a growl. But it was close. His head craned up and Vickers' eyes went wide.
"That is a LONG fuckin neck. Holy shit." The large were-jaguar said in surprise. Then he tossed the slice of meat up a bit, as if to a pet dog. Driscoll eagerly snapped it from the air with his teeth. "Well that's new nightmare fuel." He said softly to himself as he reached for more.
Driscoll gripped the steak with both hands and tore at it greedily, his teeth sinking in with ease and taking small chunks out with each bite.
That was when, as he slid another piece in with his new hands, he noticed just how pointed his teeth were. For that matter, as his hand explored his face, he noticed that he had a snout now. And pointed ears that were even more severe than those on Vickers' head.
Then he felt something his mind couldn't quite... understand.
It felt like something was poking him just above his butt. But... distant?
He reached behind himself and grabbed at his back and felt a tentacle.
"What the fuck is-" He exclaimed as he began trying to move again, splashing water everywhere.
"Relax!" Vickers said in a commanding tone. "it's just your tail!"
Driscoll managed to get a hold of the thing at almost the exact same moment Vickers made the announcement.
"I have a tail!?!" He asked incredulously.
"You're a damn fox!" Vickers shot back. "Of course you have a tail. I have a damn tail."
The door opened, causing both of the men inside to stiffen as old reflexes put them on alert at an unexpected intrusion.
"It sounds...." Said a deep voice that did not match the body of the person using it. "As though it may be MY time to take over with the lessons." Said a nearly seven foot tall, incredibly thin, were-fox as he slowly, almost hesitantly, entered the small room.
Driscoll could practically see the discomfort that the man caused in Vickers. As the Chief looked back down at Driscoll he winked.
"Sounds good." He said in a voice that was more eager than the man's face was. "I'll leave you in Priest Denaria's incredibly knowledgeable hands Mr. Driscoll. He knows more about being a fox than I do." He tapped a knuckle to Driscolls left shoulder. "I'll go check on your buddy."
Driscoll's hand shot out of the water and seized the arm before it could get to far away. Vickers looked back with a mixture of surprise and mild anger. Not a huge shock when startling a member of the special forces.
"Thank you." Driscoll said. "Thank you."
Vickers just patted the hand and nodded. "Just remember the deal." He said simply. Then he was out the door.
Denaria took Vickers' place once the door had shut. But he didn't sit down like Vickers had. Instead he simply stood, looking down at Driscoll. Driscoll was very faintly reminded of a cartoon character he'd seen as a kid, though he couldn't remember details. He thought the character had probably been a villain, or maybe a monster, but he wasn't sure. Either way the man was menacing. Not least of all because of his intense gaze.
"Congratulations on your successful conversion Mr. Driscoll." He said in that almost deep, somewhat echoing, voice. "And welcome to the Folk."

"Woah!" A familiar, and much too loud, voice said as a hand clamped down on his collarbone. "Relax!"
By reflex Driscoll's hands clasped onto the large, clawed, furred, hand and attempted to dislodge it using the same nerve commands that he would have used in the suit. The result was that his hands began to squeeze, attempting to crush the arm of his would be assailant the way he would have in the suit. The hand holding him was massive, and even placed just above his sternum it almost wrapped around his neck.
There was a slight pop from the massive animal's arm.
"Ow." The familiar voice said calmly. Then a second, equally massive, hand grabbed his left hand. "Relax sardine."
And as the hand gripped his and slowly, but with incredible gentleness, pulled his hand away. Driscoll FELT the fur on the hands.
As if flipping a switch in his mind he realized he could also FEEL the one he'd been trying to get off of him too.
"What?" He asked. "What's happening?"
He looked around and realized that he was in a bath of some kind, though the tub was massive, inside a house.
And... he had hands.
They weren't.... Well, they weren't his hands. Not really. They couldn't be. He'd had his hands amputated nearly fifteen years ago due to chemical burns and necrosis.
Besides, these hands were massive, and covered in red fur that faded to black as it neared his... claws? They reminded him of images he'd seen of professional basketball players pre-war.
"Driscoll?" The voice asked. Driscoll looked at it and saw the feline featured face of Chief Vickers. "Relax." He said. "Lie back down."
"Vickers?" He asked. "It.... It worked?" He asked as he held his new hand up in front of his face and moved it. It actually moved when he told it to. And it had none of the micro-lag that they'd had to train to overcome when they'd first had their interfaces mapped into their suits.
Then he heard a splash and realized that he was feeling....
His head snapped down past Vickers' arm and saw legs. Actually, honest to god, legs.
Like the hands they were long. Incredibly long. Awkwardly, lankily, long actually. The joints had been rearranged in a way that was like a dogs or cats, and they ended in paws. They also had the same red-to-black fade as his hands, though the toes had white fur around the ends.
But when he told his right foot to kick it did, sending a small splash of water over the edge of the tub.
He felt a different wetness then, as his eyes welled up.
He had arms.
He had legs.
For the first time since he'd turned thirteen. Since he'd watched as a cloud of deadly gas and debris and other types of fallout had washed over the middle school parking lot his mom had just dropped him off at. He had a body all of his own. A working body.
"I.... I lived?" He asked. "It worked?"
"Yeah." Vickers said as he gently lowered the, now former, muck marcher back into the water gently and let him float there. "Yeah. You're good. Just gotta recover a bit."
He hadn't expected to survive the ordeal. Not after Vickers and the other two were-folk had explained what would happen, and how low his odds were. He'd expected his body to be overcome by the transformation and give up, or for his mind to break. On the latter, he had almost been proven right. He remembered the pain, as flesh began to tear and bones had begun to break. As implants used to keep him alive had been expelled violently, and his Can had been ejected like a champagne cork. He remembered the smell and remembered how, as he had thrashed about, he had placed his hands in something that was supposed to be inside it.
He remembered using lungs that could barely breath on their own to scream a wail of death that any metal front man would have died to have in their vocal arsenal.
Then he'd passed out.
And now in a warm tub full of fragrant water, who knew how many hours or days later, he was not only alive. He was whole again.
He was, for all intents and purposes, reborn.
Then he remembered that he hadn't undergone the process alone.
He reached up, still marveling at the concept of having a hand that he could FEEL, and tried to grab Vickers' sleeve. He miscalculated and ended up almost pushing the SEAL off of the edge of the tub. But he braced himself in time and looked down at Driscoll curiously.
"Five?" Driscoll asked. "Is she?..." He trailed off.
"Alive." Driscoll said. "Still out though." He pulled something out of the bag he'd been rummaging in, and Driscoll smelled it somehow. "I'll check on her in a second for now-"
"Steak?" Driscoll asked. "Uncooked? But-" Without even realizing it he emitted a noise that wasn't quite a growl. But it was close. His head craned up and Vickers' eyes went wide.
"That is a LONG fuckin neck. Holy shit." The large were-jaguar said in surprise. Then he tossed the slice of meat up a bit, as if to a pet dog. Driscoll eagerly snapped it from the air with his teeth. ^{"Well that's new nightmare fuel."} He said softly to himself as he reached for more.
Driscoll gripped the steak with both hands and tore at it greedily, his teeth sinking in with ease and taking small chunks out with each bite.
That was when, as he slid another piece in with his new hands, he noticed just how pointed his teeth were. For that matter, as his hand explored his face, he noticed that he had a snout now. And pointed ears that were even more severe than those on Vickers' head.
Then he felt something his mind couldn't quite... understand.
It felt like something was poking him just above his butt. But... distant?
He reached behind himself and grabbed at his back and felt a tentacle.
"What the fuck is-" He exclaimed as he began trying to move again, splashing water everywhere.
"Relax!" Vickers said in a commanding tone. "it's just your tail!"
Driscoll managed to get a hold of the thing at almost the exact same moment Vickers made the announcement.
"I have a tail!?!" He asked incredulously.
"You're a damn fox!" Vickers shot back. "Of course you have a tail. I have a damn tail."
The door opened, causing both of the men inside to stiffen as old reflexes put them on alert at an unexpected intrusion.
"It sounds...." Said a deep voice that did not match the body of the person using it. "As though it may be MY time to take over with the lessons." Said a nearly seven foot tall, incredibly thin, were-fox as he slowly, almost hesitantly, entered the small room.
Driscoll could practically see the discomfort that the man caused in Vickers. As the Chief looked back down at Driscoll he winked.
"Sounds good." He said in a voice that was more eager than the man's face was. "I'll leave you in Priest Denaria's incredibly knowledgeable hands Mr. Driscoll. He knows more about being a fox than I do." He tapped a knuckle to Driscolls left shoulder. "I'll go check on your buddy."
Driscoll's hand shot out of the water and seized the arm before it could get to far away. Vickers looked back with a mixture of surprise and mild anger. Not a huge shock when startling a member of the special forces.
"Thank you." Driscoll said. "Thank you."
Vickers just patted the hand and nodded. "Just remember the deal." He said simply. Then he was out the door.
Denaria took Vickers' place once the door had shut. But he didn't sit down like Vickers had. Instead he simply stood, looking down at Driscoll. Driscoll was very faintly reminded of a cartoon character he'd seen as a kid, though he couldn't remember details. He thought the character had probably been a villain, or maybe a monster, but he wasn't sure. Either way the man was menacing. Not least of all because of his intense gaze.
"Congratulations on your successful conversion Mr. Driscoll." He said in that almost deep, somewhat echoing, voice. "And welcome to the Folk."

If you've ever played as a tribe or as a medieval kingdom, you'll know that your main source of light will be torches, and your main source of temperature control will be either fireplaces/braziers and passive coolers.
However, if you've every played a large colony (and especially if you've played with mods), you'll know the pain that is the lag. What do I mean by this? Every refueled object calculates pawns pathing. If you're base is massive, you'll often have more than 20 or so torches. Each with it's own refuel timer, which means the game continuously calculates pathing... and mind you for every capable pawn.
This slows the game to a crawl especially if you have more than 100 torches/temperature control devices. And the worst thing is, you don't experience this once you get electricity, since it doesn't calculate pathing-- just a sum differential number to your overall electricity production cap.
As of now, the best solution is to use the "No Torch Lag" mod that essentially removes refueling from torches. Though this feels a bit cheap (and basically overpowered since that makes them better than any electric light source) since they don't require any fuel and are an infinite source of light. Which leads me to my point:
Is there a better way of potentially handling neolithic refueling for the future, be it officially or via mod?
Perhaps make it so torches don't need to be refueled but perhaps have a negative side to them such as they don't produce a lot of light, or perhaps they "flicker" and give an inconsistent light source? I'm trying to figure out solutions that don't require you to constantly have to rely on pawn pathing.

Currently deciding between the new m340ix vs Macan S. If the m340 keeps the interior design from before the facelift this would be a no-brainer for me... m340 is cheaper, similar practicality other than towing(cargo spaces are almost the same), better fuel economy, more power and handling wise, it's sedan vs CUV... I guess my best bet will be getting a used m340 but it is just so hard to find one in current market that checks all the boxes I want... Color + xDrive + adaptive suspension + 360 view + Android Auto so after 2021(and before you ask, I give Porsche a free pass even if they don't have AA). People just love their cars so much and won't sell them!? Anyway I know this is less like a post in whatcarshouldIbuy or rather someone tells me I am being stupid, the new interior is not such a hard pill to swallow. Otherwise, is there an alternative new car in this sub-85k segment you can recommend?

Sins Of Previous Owners.
So I inherited my dad’s old 2000 GMC Jimmy SLT. My brother had been using(abusing) it for about a year and needed(still needs) some seriously work.
We’ll go with the most recent issue….some bad misfiring. Which was worse on wet mornings.
Ok, so I figured the wires/cap/rotor needed to be done. When inspected, you could actually see the coil wire leaking right to a bracket. The wires themselves were NGKs so they were done “at some point” but who knows when.
I ordered the parts in, even bought some extra split loom and wrapped the wires so that the rubbing will never happen again, at least not while I have it.
Went a friend’s garage and the swap began.
When the cap came off, the small ‘carbon dome’ was concave and had pits in it. The ‘ring around the dome area’ had corroded badly. From what we could gather, the rotor tang had not been touching it for a very, very long time. That coil must have been working overtime to get the arcs to jump for awhile.
Ok, so everything back together…..and nothing. Won’t start. Cranks, get some back ‘fire’(more just pressure puffs). We’re scratching our head. The cap is numbered, we put it back on exactly how it came off. Spend 1.5hrs going over the wiring, fuses, relays, recharging the battery after draining it for trying to start.
Sigh.
Finally we got the idea to check for the firing order online. Which was kind of a an odd thought as we put it all back on exactly as it came off, which the vehicle was running, albeit poorly.
ANd guess what……the damn cap was on backwards! Oh, not that we made the mistake. We put it exactly back on the way it came off. Which meant the previous guy had put it on backwards. I mean like….how even was the damn thing running at all?!
The vehicle fired right now. And boy is that 4.3 way, way more happier. More power, less wasted fuel…..oh….the transfer case is now leaking…..sigh.
I was literally stunned over this for the following hour at least. Neither one of us could believe that the cap was on backwards. I can’t even.
And here I thought finding 4 different plugs in a 6 cylinder previous vehicle was stunning….this now beats that.
