2023.03.28 00:38 MotherTheory7093 31 [M4F] CST - I hope my voice doesn’t sound too bad.. 😅

Here’s what I look like: https://imgur.com/a/aktlxV6
And here’s what I sound like: https://vocaroo.com/11kBJI0w5WVD
Below is a basic rundown of what’s mentioned in the voice memo.
I’m Childfree and looking for the same. No moms or future moms. No offense.
I’m a huge hopeless romantic. So much so, that I turned my living room into the perfect place me and me partner to relax and spend together with, wrapped up in each other over a movie, show, or video game. Photos: https://imgur.com/a/N6euAHL Btw, the couch vibrates like a subwoofer (shit feels amazing 😌). I installed shakers into the frame. Photo: https://imgur.com/a/oCfg2vR
I don’t mind going out to do things with my partner; but my typical go-to is to chill at home, cuddled up. And yes, this will come with me giving you copious back and head scratches, so I hope you have a cat as your spirit animal. 🙃
I’m big into gaming (though not FPS or PC games, sorry). I’m able to play PS 1-5 games, as well as any Wii, WiiU, and switch games. I also have a decent laptop which can do some steam games if need be. There’s no shortage of ways for us to play video game together.
I want someone I can drink with. If you don’t drink or drink very little, please don’t message me. It’s no fun to hang out with a partner on a Friday or Saturday night and be the only one tipsy. Oh, and in a related vein, I don’t mind someone who smokes weed. I have an on/off relationship with it, so I don’t mind if my partner would smoke. I’m not looking for someone who isn’t okay with smoking in any capacity.
I don’t care if you’ve got some curves, just be HWP please. Anything bigger than “curvy” isn’t attractive to me. And btw, I’m what you call skinny-fat (a pic of this can be found on my page). I eat right though and like to jog, so the “fat” part of it has its days numbered. 😌 If this isn’t a problem for you, cool.
If you know how to cook, then I’ll forever do the dishes. Not that I wouldn’t forever do them anyway, but having a woman who knows how to whip up a good-ass meal is a big plus.
I’m the type who can move relatively fast with someone I click well with (I have adhd), but I’m okay with moving at a slower pace for someone I really connect with. But it would be nice if we could get to voice calls as soon as mutually comfortable.
I’m a giving partner. I’m the type to just randomly turn to and ask you if you want some scratches or a massage. Making my partner happy is what makes me happy. This ‘prefer to give’ nature extends to other things.
I have a 20-year plan for my life, which I’d love to pull the trigger on this year. You don’t have to really have your shit together; just don’t ask me for a handout.
There’s more I could type, but we can get to all that good shit in a private conversation.
Oh, and Kdrama fans get preferential treatment. 🤷‍♂️
Please live in the states.

2023.03.28 00:32 EvilDave219 Summary of the 3/27/2023 Vicious Syndicate Podcast (Core set discussion & Festival of Legends class card preview)

Listen to the most recent Vicious Syndicate podcast here - https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-podcast-episode-125/
As always, glad to do these summaries, but a summary won't be able to cover everything and can miss nuances, so I highly recommend listening to their podcast as well. The final VS Report for March of the Lich King will be out Thursday, March 30th. There's a small chance we'll get a podcast sometime between now and the expansion release, but it's more likely this is the last podcast until Festival of Legends releases.
General - Final report for the March of the Lich King meta will be this week. ZachO will then take a "break" to work on expansion content for theorycrafting and the comprehensive preview of the new expansion. It seems like this go around they're holding back from showing all cards for individual classes until the final reveal stream on the 30th. VS got the DK card reveals at the last minute this week from Blizzard (which they are very thankful for); someone had canceled last minute and they got the cards a few hours before the VS Report went live.
ETC - ZachO spent hours analyzing ETC for the last report to see how it optimally fit into decks (if at all), and his conclusion is the card is still mostly bad, but putting in the right cards can make the card semi viable in certain decks instead of being a statistical abomination tanking your winrate. Hat chimes in that with all the analysis ZachO did, adding ETC with the correct band cards in the decks its optimal in (like Thief Rogue) is more of a sidegrade than an upgrade to those decks. There is no deck where ETC improves the performance of the deck, there's only decks that it doesn't hurt the winrate. ZachO personally thinks the only way ETC can ever be a game changer in a deck is if it's used in a manner to bypass a deckbuilding restriction to enable an archetype, rather than being a complimentary piece to anything.

Core Set

Overview - Full Core set was revealed this past week. Some of the biggest talking points: Tradeable is now an evergreen mechanic and is a key part of the Core set, Magnetic is back this year but not evergreen, Priest saw a decent overhaul due to the Overheal addition and Shadow being part of Priest's identity going forward (to no one's surprise, Hat is delighted Benedictus is staying), and the fact this is the first time we're getting meta relevant cards to stick around immediately after they were scheduled to rotate out (sorry Sunreaver Spy). There is a clear effort to raise the power level of every class and make them as well rounded as possible through the core set. With the exceptions of Radiant Elemental, Earthen Scales, and Brann, nothing impactful in the past few metas is rotating out (Armor Vendor is also noted as a direct upgrade to Mistress of Mixtures). It seems like Team 5 realized there's no point in keeping useless cards in the core set. Notable that the Core set will also be more flexible this time around, with Team 5 willing to rotate in and out cards if needed throughout the year. Brann got a lot of cards nerfed this year, so this is a great change. Also interesting they tried to add in Carnivorous Cube and Sunkeeper Tarim to the Core set, but they were too busted in their playtesting.
Demon Hunter - Metamorphosis at 4 mana may be relevant since it deals 8 damage over 2 turns. Illidari Studies is rotating back into Standard at a time where there's almost no bad Outcast cards in the pool, and only 2 of them cost more than 3 mana (Eye Beam which will typically cost 1, and Glaivesmith which just got buffed). Should be a huge addition to Outcast DH. Immolation Aura is a huge upgrade from Chaos Nova for more defensive DH decks. Unnerfed Kayn will probably see play in almost any aggressive DH deck. Exciting upgrades, even though the class got the fewest card changes of any class not including Death Knight.
Druid - Lunar and Solar Eclipses can slot into multiple Druid archetype (especially Ramp Druid), and the buffed Treants along with Witchwood Apple being reworked should be a buff to token decks. ZachO thinks Soul of the Forest to 3 mana will be quite relevant since it's been a somewhat bait-y card for the last 4 years in Druid. ZachO is disappointed they added Kiri into core without buffing it, because it never saw play at 4 mana. If Druid gets more big spells like Cenarion Ward, they could be dangerous with Solar Eclipse. Hat points out that thus far we haven't seen a lot of things Druid would want to ramp into, and it seems like they're pushing more 5 and 6 mana cards for Druid to play instead of just playing Nourish on 5 mana.
Hunter - Hat says Hunter's core set feels like it has less clear direction in what they're trying to push for the class compared to other classes. Cat Trick and Wandering Monster are big additions to their secret package. Secret Hunter may not be a thing, but these two secrets are some of the rare secrets that may be good enough to see play without additional secret support (Hat and ZachO disagree on this). Keeping Doggie Biscuit and getting Dragonbane is very relevant for the class. Jeweled Macaw, along with every other 1 drop random generator, got their health buffed. It seems like Team 5 doesn't want to give you a stat penalty for randomly generating a card, whereas they will if it draws a card like Knight of Anointment or Trinket Tracker. It may still not be good enough for constructed decks, but worth considering.
Mage - Keeping Fire Sale is great. Firelands Portal has been powercrept but may still see play due to the new Millhouse. Flame Geyser is now an Arcane Shot that adds a 1/2 to your hand. Arcane Artificer getting added back in indicates we'll probably see more big spell support for Mage. Stargazer Luna may not be quite as insane without Luna's Pocket Galaxy, but she'll be relevant in lower curve decks. Cards rotating out didn't see constructed play.
Paladin - No secrets in Paladin should make Paladin players happy. Hat points out that Paladin losing secrets also ironically makes Rogue worse. Team 5 isn't committing to never having secrets in Paladin again, but they want to see how the class plays without them. ZachO hates secrets for long term design, so he's happy with this decision. Truesilver now buffing you for 6 health over 2 swings will make players look at the card again. Consecration and Hammer of Wrath going to 3 mana will make you seriously look at putting them into constructed decks. Consecration could be a workable substitute for City Tax in Equality clear combos. Muster For Battle is arguably the best dude card of all time and getting Lothraxion will potentially make Dude Paladin work. Grimestreet Outfitter is now a Bannerman that doesn't draw a card but costs 1 less. Hand of Adal will also be a relevant card. Class got arguably one of the strongest Core sets.
Priest - With the Overheal cards, Crimson Clergy is the new substitute to Northshire Cleric, and Holy Champion is a potential Totem Golem at 2 mana now. Shadow Ascendent saw play as a 2/2 and becomes stronger with the health buff. Shard of the Naaru staying means Priest remains the premiere silence class. Catrina Muerta's change to only resurrect Undead signals we'll likely see support throughout the year towards re-summoning Undead in Priest. ZachO thinks this is a buff to the card. The old version could only be run in Big Priest decks, whereas this version lets you play it in any Priest deck running a few support cards (large Undead minions and Catrina). Priest is getting a lot of new proactive tools so it no longer has to be a purely reactive class.
Rogue - Shadowstep staying is the biggest news for the class, and ZachO is personally relieved. It seems like Team 5's philosophy is to not take away things that are fun and compelling for classes that are core to their identity, but to build around those things instead. Rogue is getting more secrets along with Hanar, although worth noting Hanar is now worse without Paladin secrets to discover. ZachO's not too excited about the individual secrets since Plagiarize and Cheat Death never saw relevant play. Eviscerate coming back makes sense with the amount of Combo support the class is getting and with Wicked Stab rotating. Hat loves the buff to Fan of Knives. Elven Minstrel saw play as a 3/2 and still sees play in Wild, so hard to imagine the buffed version not seeing play.
Shaman - Hex at 3 mana becomes a relevant card for single target removal and becomes an insane School Teacher option. Ancestral Knowledge going to 1 Overload makes ZachO happy (thanks Chakki). Shaman getting Zap back will be relevant for the Overload package they're printing this expansion. Overdraft staying in is a huge buff for Overload decks. Grand Master Eyesore and especially Thing From Below are a big buff for totem decks. Carving Chisel makes Thing From Below come out quick.
Warlock - ZachO thinks Warlock got the biggest strength boost of any class with the Core set changes. Defile is one of the best AoE cards of all time. The big demon package with Voidcaller is insane. Jailer and Malganis can checkmate certain decks. Spirit Bomb seems like a weird inclusion, but it may have synergy with the new 1 mana minion that makes you Immune.
Warrior - Warrior is getting some control support in the Core set, but ZachO isn't sure if it combined with what they're currently getting in the expansion will be enough to make it viable. Sword Eater is viable for both aggressive and more defensive Warrior decks. Amargadillo gets a +2 health buff to 8, which makes it a pretty beefy taunt. Heavy Plate staying in Standard gives Warrior additional armor gain. Woodcutter Axe is a pretty good update for modern Hearthstone. Warrior’s additions seem okay, but ZachO's disappointed that they didn't do more. Warrior seems like it has a vague direction based off what we've seen in their expansion card reveals so far.
Neutrals - Most impactful Legendary rotating out is obviously Brann. Armor Vendor is a direct upgrade to Mistress. Of the new neutral legendary cards, Dr. Boom is probably not good enough to see play in 2023, but Zilliax will be relevant, and ZachO personally thinks Blood Control DK would love to run Ragnaros. Black Knight is now a real tech card. Cult Neophyte was a heavily utilized card during its run in Standard. Hat is a little nervous that Rogue is getting all these bounce cards that can abuse Neophyte, but ZachO doesn't seem too worried since Neophyte was never a power outlier in Rogue decks. Dirty Rat is ZachO's least favorite card being added into Standard, even though he recognizes there are a lot of people who love the card. Dirty Rat has always been perceived to be more powerful than it actually is, so it will have a high playrate regardless of how it actually performs. It may be a likely candidate to rotate out of Core early because it could prove too frustrating for players with how it can lead to blowout games for either player. In addition to Zilliax, we're getting a few Magnetic mechs back, all which have been buffed. With the amount of 4/2 weapons being added in this expansion, Dread Corsair is going to be relevant. Tour Guide coming back is a huge deal for most classes. The largest impact to the Core set is Tinyfin rotating out for Snowflipper Penguin.

Festival of Legends Expansion Cards

Death Knight - Death Growl is the strongest DK card they've revealed. Insane synergy for Aggro Unholy DK between eggs and Chillfallen Baron. Card can also have late game implications with Cage Head. Questionable if Unholy DK can build a slower, reactive deck around Cage Head and Boneshredders though. ZachO's not a fan of Mosh Pit due to its corpse cost. It's a very slow card that can't be utilized on curve. Arcanite Ripper might be decent, but Harmonic Metal and Screaming Banshee might be better cards for Blood DK decks. Screaming Banshee can generate 10/10 in stats with a single Vampiric Blood. Card doesn't do anything the turn it's played, but it can generate so many stats it’s a must remove card. Blood Buff DK might be a thing with these cards. Interesting that every DK card revealed besides Cage Head is a single rune card, so theoretically all these cards can go into a Rainbow DK deck. Still seems like a stretch that Rainbow DK will be viable.
Demon Hunter - Glaivetar is the best DH card of the expansion, "and it's not particularly close." In Outcast DH Glaivetar can potentially draw 5-6 cards. Rush the Stage and SECURITY!! may also make Outcast DH viable. ZachO seems high on Snakebite, which in turn makes him like SECURITY!! even more. Snakebite can be a huge early game swing, cost 1 mana off Rush the Stage, and gets buffed when any minion dies, not just your own. Outcast DH has the theoretical tools to beat early game initiative focused decks, but still some question if it have enough tools to beat late game decks. Halveria Darkraven seems more suspect, although Hat likens it to a potential Bloodlust in the mid game. Halveria continuously buffing S'theno could be relevant. The rest of DH's revealed cards are very flavorful, but it doesn't seem like there's currently a deck that would run them.
Druid - The current focus of Druid seems to be split between big spells and treants. Summer Flowerchild is ZachO's standout card for the class so far. Timber Tambourine can summon 4 5/5s quite easily, which is a lot of stats to put on the board at once. Hat points out the synergy Green-Thumb Gardner has with the weapon since it's a free proc for the weapon. Most decks will not be able to deal with an instant board full of 5/5s.
Hunter - Arrow Smith is a weaker Flamewaker, but ZachO does think the card is very good. Bunch of Bananas and Barrel of Monkeys are like Twin Spells with 3 charges. Not quite sure what to do with these cards though. A 1 mana +1/+1 buff isn't great by itself, but the flexibility of Bunch of Bananas might make it more viable. Jungle Jammer is a decent weapon since it's a 4 mana 4/2 weapon.
Mage - DJ Manastorm can set up some big OTKs with your big burn spells like Pyroblast. Some question on how you build a defensive Mage deck that can get you to the big blowout Manastorm turn, but Solid Alibi is a card that's still in Standard. Infinitize the Maxitude is potentially infinite value but seems very clunky with its Finale condition. May only see play in Casino Mage.
Paladin - Hat thinks Spotlight is the best card that's been revealed so far. Paladin has no shortage of Divine Shields it can play on 1 mana, so this is a powerful turn 2 play on curve. Has a cute combo with Starlight Groove where if you use it on your hero's Divine Shield, it'll immediately generate it back. Annoy-o-Troupe should just be called Annoy-o-Lord. It's a stronger standalone card than Voidlord. If you don't have a silence or transform effect, it's nearly impossible to get through the taunts it generates. Lead Dancer and Kangor, Dancing King are the intended cheat effects to get it out earlier, but ZachO's not high on Lead Dancer and would rather pay 9 life to play it with Blood Crusader. Hat points out the synergy Kangor can have with some rush cards, and Mish-Mash Mosher and Amplified Elekk become Renos. ZachO's concern for a Big Paladin deck is that while cheating out an Annoy-o-Daddy can win games on the spot against faster decks, you need more than that to beat slower resource focused decks. The Countess or a different neutral card is what you'd have to tap into. Funkfin and Jitterbug are okay, but ZachO's not too high on them. Funkfin is not a good standalone card, and Jitterbug is a newer Cult Master that usually guarantees you 1 draw.
Priest - Priest’s set so far is a bit weird. It seems like they're encouraging a proactive Overheal deck, but ZachO is skeptical if you'd choose to go for this type of deck over Shadow Priest. Hat thinks Hearthrob is Evolve Shaman-esque and can build some big boards. ZachO is less optimistic since it's hard to cheat out a lot of healing in the early game, even though there are things like Fan Club that can help. ZachO thinks Power Chord: Synchronize is one of the better cards revealed as it’s a better Seance. Heartbreaker Hedanis may be the most interesting Priest card revealed since there could be some OTK implications with the card. ZachO's not too high on the Priest set.
Rogue - ZachO reiterates how important Shadowstep is to Rogue's set, and it's an important glue card that would make all the cards they've revealed for Rogue significantly worse without it. Disc Jockey is a one use Whirlkick Master. Its stats make it work well with Breakdance. The cards you want to bounce with Breakdance are different than the cards you want to bounce with Shadowstep; you want cards with high stats to bounce with Breakdance. Rhyme Spinner is the payoff for the bounce/combo archetype. Rhyme Spinner might be relevant for Miracle Rogue, especially in combination with Record Scratcher. ZachO loves that Record Scratcher has anti-synergy with Draka. ZachO calls Bounce Around overrated, and Hat says it's as overrated as little Scabbs was when it was first revealed. Best case scenario for Bounce Around is that it's a 3 mana Potion of Illusion. Unlike Potion, you lose all your minions on board and don't get 1/1 copies of them. Potion of Illusion also never saw play in a Rogue deck. There might be some combo implications for Bounce Around but forcing you to replay the minions on the same turn means it'll have limited utilization. Bounce Around will not see play in a Miracle Rogue type of deck. In ZachO's words: "You guys are overreacting."
Shaman - Shaman is getting an Overload theme this expansion. ZachO says he's tried to build and theorycraft an Overload Shaman deck based off what we've seen so far in the expansion reveal and Core set, but right now it feels like an incomplete deck. Seems like the deck wants you to play Jazz Bass, overload yourself, unlock your mana crystals and then cheat out an early Pack the House. It's an okay play, but it's not game winning. It's still not clear if Jazz Bass improves with each Overload card or each Overloaded mana crystal, but ZachO and Hat assume it's the former. Hat says we got a lot of good individual cards for Shaman, but it feels rough trying to slot them into decks. ZachO is high on JIVE, INSECT!, but the card alone likely won't enable a deck archetype. The most ideal play with it is getting a Ragnaros and then playing Criminal Lineup to OTK your opponent, but that's a highly copium play. Inzah feels disappointing, and Hat wishes it was a 4 mana 4/4. Shaman doesn't have the burn to execute an OTK strategy with Inzah.
Warlock - ZachO thinks Rin, Orchestrator of Doom will be bad, but see lots of play. Hat likens it to Tickatus. Given we've barely seen any of Warlock's expansion set, but the cards they're getting added into Core are much more exciting than the cards they're getting this expansion. Chadlock with Malganis looks spicy.
Warrior - ZachO thinks Warrior is unjustifiably getting a bad rep. Verse Riff, Chorus Riff, and Bridge Riff play off of each other, but playing your first riff is very mediocre. It feels like relics from DH, but unlike relics there's no late game scaling with riffs. The best thing about the package is that even if it's bad, it's very easy to buff by just cutting a mana cost from each card. Team 5 wants Warrior to play these cards, so ZachO can't imagine a scenario where they don't buff the cards if they turn out to be bad. Blackrock n Roll got so much hate from the playerbase, but ZachO says this card is better than Bounce Around. He thinks Blackrock n Roll is more likely to create a meta defining deck in the future than Bounce Around. Blackrock is like a "hobo Pocket Galaxy" where it can turn your minions into huge game winning threats. ZachO can envision a Control Warrior deck playing Blackrock alongside Lor'themar Theron, which will make any minion you play potentially game winning. After Blackrock, Zilliax becomes an 8/7 and can be tutored out and buffed more with Last Stand, which can be a huge swing. Trenchstalker buffed by the card can end games. ZachO thinks it's "inevitable" that the card becomes good, and gives it a 4/4. He thinks the only way the card isn't viable is if Warrior doesn't get any early game survival tools. Tony Warrior still might be the best deck for the class, but if that's the case it seems unlikely that it doesn't get nerfed if it is meta defining.

2023.03.28 00:31 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Insider Teases Rockstar's DLC Plans

Rockstar Games may already be planning Grand Theft Auto VI DLC. Fans have been chomping at the bit for more info on GTA 6 for a while as it will likely be one of the biggest games of all-time. Rockstar Games continues to raise and set the bar in a way no other developer is capable of and that will likely be no different with this game. Red Dead Redemption 2 was an absurdly innovative game that is a benchmark for open-world gaming and GTA 6 is both the follow-up to that and the second-best-selling game of all-time, Grand Theft Auto V. The developer is taking its sweet time on its next game and we've already caught a couple of glimpses at it thanks to leaks, but we're still waiting to learn more about it.
With that said, a recent comment from Rockstar Games insider Tez2 noted that they believe Rockstar is on track to announce GTA 6 this year and likely release it next holiday season, with room to delay into early 2025. In order to ensure the game does not get delayed more, Tez noted that Rockstar may have to start cutting content from the game which could then be finished and repackaged later as DLC. It's not something that's totally out of the question, as Rockstar did repurpose some stuff that was cut from Grand Theft Auto V later in GTA Online. Reports also suggested that when Bully 2 was canceled, some of its concepts and features were salvaged for Red Dead Redemption 2.
"I personally see an announcement as a given this year," said the insider. "I don't think the upper management is in a position to delay further to holiday 2025/2026. Cutting more portions of the game to package into DLCs to release later on may be sustainable for management than delaying further."
With all of that said, it's not necessarily a bad idea. In order to get the game out in a reasonable time, stuff will have to be cut, that's the nature of game development. However, it's always a good thing if it can be recycled for other content later down the line. Not only do you get a more fleshed out experience, but it keeps the core vision of the game in-tact. Rockstar has largely moved away from premium story DLC in recent years, so it's unclear what this DLC would look like, but it will likely be years before we even see it.

2023.03.28 00:30 EvilDave219 Summary of the 3/27/2023 Vicious Syndicate Podcast (Core set discussion & Festival of Legends class card preview)

2023.03.28 00:30 Elarionus What various PlayStation subscription services are necessary/will benefit our experience?

My wife and I are currently on the fence between upgrading our main gaming PC, purchasing an Xbox Series X with Gamepass, or purchasing a PS5. Gaming PC means cheaper games and more functionality other than gaming, but is the most expensive option (plus we would have to deal with shader stutter). Xbox means we get Game Pass, but we're not a fan of their exclusives or controllers.
PS5 seems to be the simple choice, but I don't know how their subscriptions work. Most of the games we would play on it would be single player, as our multiplayer games would stay on our PCs. Elden Ring would probably be the only multiplayer game we would have. Do we have to pay monthly to play multiplayer like you do on Switch and Xbox? Does PlayStation have something comparable to Gamepass?
For $500, it seems like the obvious choice, even though the games are more expensive. We're mainly worried about subscriptions and backwards compatibility.

2023.03.28 00:28 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Gameplay: What Changes Could We See?

GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games of all time, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what Rockstar has in store for them. While we don't know much about the gameplay of GTA 6, there are a few changes that we could potentially see in the game.
One possible change is an increased focus on realism. In recent years, games have been moving towards more realistic graphics and physics, and it's possible that GTA 6 will follow this trend. This could mean more realistic driving physics, more realistic weapon handling, and more realistic character movements.
Another potential change could be a greater emphasis on player choice. In recent years, games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 have emphasized player choice and branching storylines, and it's possible that GTA 6 could follow suit. This could mean that players will have more freedom to make choices that affect the game's storyline and the world around them.
We could also potentially see more player customization options in GTA 6. In GTA 5, players could customize their character's appearance to a certain extent, but there were still limitations. In GTA 6, it's possible that players will have even more control over their character's appearance and abilities.
Finally, we could see some changes to the game's online multiplayer mode. In recent years, games like Fortnite and Apex Legends have introduced battle royale modes, and it's possible that GTA 6 could follow suit. It's also possible that Rockstar could introduce new modes and features to keep players engaged in the game's online world.
Only time will tell what changes we'll see in the gameplay of GTA 6, but one thing is for sure: fans are eagerly waiting for the game's release.

2023.03.28 00:27 BrownTown427 Blitz XVIII - ReBooking Matt Riddle's Time In NXT

NXT (10/31/18): Matt Riddle vs. Montez Ford
Kicking off his NXT run, Riddle tests his abilities against a rising talent of the tag team division. Montez gets in a little bit of offense, but Riddle ultimately picks up a pretty decisive win, cementing himself as a force to be reckoned with moving forward.

Over the coming weeks, Riddle keeps this momentum going, picking up more wins and drawing the attention of Kassius Ohno. Ohno tries to recruit Riddle to his cause, seeing major potential in him, but Riddle declines. This incenses Kassius, who blindsides Matt following one of his matches. This leads to a match at War Games between the two, where Riddle defeats Ohno in less than two minutes. Ohno wants to avenge this “fluke” loss however, demanding a rematch, which Riddle, being the confident fighter that he is, accepts.
NXT (1/2/19): Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno II
Unfortunately for Ohno, despite the match being longer this time, Riddle once again defeats him clean, submitting him to an armbar. However, after the match, a familiar face attacks Riddle…IT’S CESARO! He hits Riddle with a Neutralizer, the former Kings of Wrestling standing tall.

This sets up a match between Cesaro and Matt Riddle for TakeOver: Phoenix, and it proves to be Riddle’s hardest match to date. But even with Cesaro looking strong, Riddle looks even stronger, eventually hitting the Bro-Derek to get a massive win over an incredible talent.

With that victory, Riddle sets his sights towards the title scene. He confronts NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream, but he’s not the only one looking to capture that title. Keith Lee, an individual who was also rising the ranks, and Ricochet, perhaps in his final NXT match, want the opportunity as well. This eventually sets up…

TakeOver: New York: Matt Riddle vs. Keith Lee vs. Ricochet vs. Velveteen Dream (c) - NXT North American Championship
In a match filled with four very unique styles of wrestlers, from the high-flying abilities of Ricochet to the power of Keith Lee, it’s going to take everything in the tank for one of these men to win. And ultimately, it goes in the favor of Keith Lee, who Spirit Bombs Ricochet to earn his first NXT title.

Despite the loss, Riddle isn’t going to wallow in frustration. Rather, he turns his attention towards a possible NXT Title opportunity, accepting an open challenge from champion Johnny Gargano one evening. They tear the house down, but unfortunately, it doesn’t see a proper finish, as Undisputed Era attack both men and the match finishes in a no contest. From there, Gargano and Riddle form a mutual pact to have each other’s backs against UE, but the numbers game isn’t in their favor…

Until Keith Lee joins the fray! With Roderick Strong and by extension Undisputed Era also targeting Keith and his North American Title, Lee offers his assistance to Riddle and Gargano. This leads to a massive six-man tag team match, with Riddle getting the win for his team by submitting Kyle O’Reilly in a triangle choke. This victory also gives Riddle the opportunity to face Adam Cole in a #1 Contenders Match for the NXT Title, but Cole comes out victorious.

From there, Riddle moves into a program with Damian Priest, the first major feud of the latter’s stint in NXT. Priest acts as a solid foil to Riddle, a darker presence set out to decimate his opponents while Riddle is a fan favorite bent on using his technical, MMA-based style to get the job done. They have multiple matches against one another, the final one being under Unsanctioned Rules and Riddle concluding the rivalry with a bang following a leaping Bro-Ton through a table.

With that done, Riddle can now focus on Survivor Series. Alongside many of NXT’s premier talents, he appears on Raw and SmackDown, looking to gain some exposure. And it’s after encountering a certain Phenomenal superstar that we see…

NXT (11/20/19): Matt Riddle vs. AJ Styles
On the go-home show for Survivor Series, we get ourselves another match between Riddle and a talented main roster superstar. Instead of Cesaro though, Riddle now has to go through a former WWE Champion. Despite the experience advantage going to Styles, Riddle more than holds his own, and as a prelude to Riddle’s first feud upon his eventual main roster debut, he beats AJ with a Bro-Derek in an upset.

Survivor Series: Men’s 5v5v5 Elimination Match
And like in real life, Riddle is one of the five men representing NXT in the traditional tag match. He proves himself as a strong competitor, being one of the final four in the entire match before ultimately getting ousted by Randy Orton.

After this, Riddle shifts his attention back towards the title scene. With Keith Lee still North American Champion, Riddle sets out to dethrone him. The two square off at the beginning of 2020, but only one of 2019’s fastest rising stars can win…AND IT’S MATT RIDDLE!

Even with a different champ, the North American Title still proves hard to win, with Riddle defeating names including Roderick Strong and Dominik Dijakovic. However, it’s not long before he comes across a serious problem: Imperium.

He receives backup in the form of Pete Dunne, who would be feuding with WALTER at the time, and even Timothy Thatcher initially helps them as well. However, in a tag title match pitting the Broserweights against champions Aichner and Barthel, Thatcher screws them over, joining Imperium.

Riddle would have a series of matches against Thatcher, concluding in the Fight Pit. Thatcher wins, giving him the North American Title as well. But that’s not the final match of Riddle’s NXT career…

TakeOver: XXX: Matt Riddle vs. WALTER
To wrap things up with Imperium, Riddle tries to take down the monster that is WALTER. He puts up a strong effort, but unfortunately, after a series of Powerbombs and then a Sleeper Hold, WALTER passes Riddle out.

Hey everyone, back with another post!
Looking to make some trades for the cards on my want list. I'm a big Dragonite, Umbreon and Charizard fan, so those are my top priority ones on the list. Will look at anything you've got of those, but definitely prefer the stuff from my list!
Haves:
-Trade Binder w/ Timestamp
-E-Reader Lot
Pretty much everything I have to offer is in there, but this time around I am willing to open up my PC only for things specifically on my want list. Please do not ask about anything in there unless you have something from my want list. Most likely won't break up or trade Evolving Skies alts unless its a crazy offer I can't refuse.
Personal Collection
Would like to trade E-Readers as a lot with the exception of some of the bigger cards. Will discount it a bit if you're trading for the whole lot.
Happy to provide more pictures/pricing/condition on anything, most things will go based off of TCG pricing. Celebi V alt art is a weird one that I'm not sure how to price, has some weird ink splatter but that's how it came out of the pack. If interested, we can figure something out! Always willing to negotiate to get a good deal done though. If you have less trades than me, I will ask that you send first. I am also fine with sending first if I have less than you.
Wants:
-High Value/High Priority Want List
-Evolving Skies Needs
-Binders. Show me what you got, I'm willing to look at anything. Make me an offer, the worst I can say is no.
Thanks for looking!

2023.03.28 00:25 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Fan Made 4K Concept Trailer Rendered In Unreal Engine 5 Is Drop Dead Gorgeous

Rockstar Games can't release Grand Theft Auto VI fast enough, though as we eagerly (and impatiently) await for the next installment in the long-running GTA franchise, fan made trailers have us drooling at what the actual product could look like. The latest one comes from TeaserPlay, which used Unreal Engine 5 to render several different locations in stunning detail.
The actual game isn't likely to use UE5. Rumor has it that Rockstar Games is leaning on its own proprietary RAGE9 graphics engine, and that's both plausible and, in our opinion, very likely to be true. TeaserPlay acknowledges this in the description to its concept trailer, suggesting it wanted to render several possible locations in UE5 so we'd have something to compare with down the line.
Check it out below...
Play
In the order they appear, the trailer showcases Vice City, San Fierro, Las Venturas, and Liberty City. The shots inside what appears to be a high-rise apartment complex in Las Venturas look especially crisp as the camera pans over a carpet and into a kitchen island with some veggies and pasta in the background, though it's far from the only scene that stands out.
"I/we use the most powerful features of Unreal Engine, such as ray tracing, lumen, nanite [virtualized geometry], screen ppace reflections, and MetaHuman so that the graphics are as close as possible to a next-gen sandbox game," TeaserPlay states.
There are a ton of leaks and rumors surrounding GTA 6. One of the more recent ones suggest there will be at least two playable protagonists, one of which is a Latina woman. The franchise hasn't featured a playable female character in a long time.
Rockstar Games has been rather short on details for the next installment, though it has at least confirmed that GTA 6 is in development.
"With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," the devloper shared in a blog post last February. "With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered—and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway."
No release date has been mentioned, though Rockstar Games will share its next earnings report in early August. It's possible we will get an update at that time.

2023.03.28 00:24 iamHBY Thought I'd give my take on how to be realistic in throwing a debut battle rap event for a league, instead of having it turn into a shitshow

We saw how badly things crashed and burned for Create For You's Owneurship event this past Saturday in LA. Between a couple advertised battles not happening, the stream only showing 1 battle properly before the website crashed, there only being about 50 people in attendance at a venue that holds 1,500 people, and King Bau not being able to back up several months of shit talking in his performance, a lot definitely went wrong. Considering how many of these events there's been over the years, where someone tries to make a big splash in battle rap with their first event, only for it to go awry and never do another event again, I'd like to give my takes on what I think a new league looking to make a name can do to avoid having things go full Murphy's Law for them. Do remember though, you can't just throw money at an event and expect things to work out, there's more than that that's required for making for a good event.
Right off the bat, I'd say book the debut event at a modestly-sized venue of some sort, possibly with a 250 person capacity at the most. It's a lot to just jump in the deep end and host it at a massive concert venue, being able to sell out a 250 cap venue is a nice base level metric, and it allows for a little more closer crowd engagement in the building. Next, don't just throw an insane amount of money at a bunch of big battlers you're wanting to book, negotiate a realistic price point when dealing with certain names, but also get creative with the battles you want on your event, try to come up with unique battles that seem like either no-brainers or that no other league would put together. After that, start making the rounds at events in person from other leagues either within the area or the more notable leagues elsewhere, not only to show face, but to also develop a rapport with other battlers and league owners, where you can consult with them and get pointers on the fundamentals of throwing an event.
Once you've locked in a card, give yourself ample time to establish a proper promo run in the lead up to the event. Have the battlers post the event trailer and flyers for the event consistently, start making the rounds alongside battlers from the event on various battle rap media platforms in order to make yourself visible to fans in the culture, and help build up the league you're trying to establish, and kick things into full gear once it's closer to the event date. Also, don't cut corners, not only when it comes to the audio and visual aspects of the event, but also when it comes to streaming it live if you happen to want to do a live PPV. Reach out to entities like Ruin Your Day and whatnot that have experience with filming and streaming events, so that it looks cool, so that a viewer will be able to hear the bars properly, and that the stream itself won't run into issues like exceeding website bandwidth and whatnot. One last thing, make sure you have a guaranteed amount of extra emergency money set aside to cover other potential costs, whether it be ranging from maybe having to book extra flights for talent if an initial flight gets canceled, to paying out the second halves of deposits for the battlers, instead of relying on the door money or PPV money to cover the rest of the money to pay the battlers.
There's a lot of other variables that come into play in terms of the nuances of throwing an event, but I think as someone that's been around the battle rap culture for a long time, that those are some good starting points for really honing in on putting an event together, instead of being unrealistically ambitious and having it blow up in your face. You might run into potential growing pains along the way, but establishing good fundamentals is what'll make a event not turn into a Total Slaughter, Ether, BOTB UK, No Mask, WFF, King Juce, Gladiator School, or any of the other one and done events from leagues that come and go so quickly.
TL;DR: Don't book a debut event at a massive venue, be sensible with paying battlers as well coming up with unique battles, develops rapports with battlers and league owners alike, plan for a proper promo rollout, hire entities with experience in filming battle rap events, and have extra money set aside instead of relying on the door or PPV money to cover other event costs.

2023.03.28 00:22 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA Online Fans Discover Possible Hidden GTA 6 Assets Rockstar Added Years Ago

It's only been a few days since some interesting GTA VI gameplay was leaked. The leak, which was authenticated by Rockstar Games, confirmed the location to be Vice City, and that there would be male and female protagonists. Some eagle-eyed viewers noticed something about GTA Online, though. What they found was an art asset that seemed quite familiar. A texture asset specifically.
Those viewers of the leak video noticed a Vice City Metro sticker in the Arena War update for Grand Theft Auto Online that hit a while back. ViceCityMetroMule GTAO White Back Art Asset from Grand Theft Auto Online showing the Vice City Metro Mule Logo
The original tweet no longer displays the side by side imagery, unfortunately. The Arena War Update for Grand Theft Auto Online was release four years ago after all. While this is interesting, it is not uncommon for developers to re-use assets, especially if there isn't a significant change to the artwork. Asset re-use can shorten development time in most cases and it is not limited to video games. Many people are familiar with the "Pixar Easter Eggs" in that film studio's pieces. It's an excellent way to not waste development cycles on things like debris and common texture work that is repeated throughout the virtual worlds -- whether in games or movies.
It is also not uncommon for Rockstar to hide Easter eggs in their games that may reference other games in the same series, or different titles altogether. Bully even included a Grand Theft Auto vehicle asset in its shop class. Sometimes the developers just throw in things to drive community interest, such as the inclusion of Bigfoot in a later patch of GTA V. Another fun Easter egg is known as the "Mount Chiliad Mystery." When it was found, players suspected it meant there was a jetpack somewhere in GTA V -- there wasn't -- but one eventually appeared in a GTA Online Mission
gta online arena war t shirts T-Shirts from the GTA Online Arena War Update
It's definitely an interesting inclusion, but it's certainly not the only reference to Vice City within GTA V and GTA Online. There's an entire wiki article on Vice City related Easter eggs on the fan wiki for Grand Theft Auto. Still, this particular metro logo was not seen until GTA Online, and now in the unauthorized leak, so in a way, players had confirmation Vice City would be used in GTA VI, if they were paying attention and connected the dots.

2023.03.28 00:20 SagaOfNomiSunrider [Star Wars Expanded Universe] The strange and obscure story of how a potential trademark claim by a vehicle sunroof manufacturer seemingly prompted the replacement of a major Star Wars video game character

This post originated as a comment in the Hobby Scuffles thread for the week commencing 20 March 2023 and its main body was written before my previous Star Wars "hobby history" post, so it might be of lesser quality. I have endeavoured to fill out the details a little, as best I can.
----
I made a post previously which described an episode of historical drama which relates to the Star Wars Expanded Universe and, even though the comments started to verge into the usual combative tedium which inevitably afflicts all Star Wars discourse on the internet (all Star Wars fans are incurably incapable of praising anything without tearing something else down, but this is the condition in which we find ourselves and it is as immutable as the fact that all Star Wars fans are inveterate bullies), I think it was reasonably well-received.
I will now relate a further story of some odd and occluded background drama from the Star Wars Expanded Universe, and I am pleased to note that this time, it is just a strange little story which involves no overt miserableness. You may, indeed, find it moderately amusing.
This is the story of how mysterious legal issues relating to a automotive accessory trademark apparently resulted in a major change being made to one of the most beloved Star Wars games of all time, and might even have contributed to the near-disappearance of a couple of once-significant original characters from the Expanded Universe entirely.
Tales of the Jedi
Our story begins in 1993, an indifferent year for Star Wars. This year saw the publication of The Last Command by Timothy Zahn, which concluded the popular Thrawn trilogy and, with it, the first chapter of the new Star Wars Expanded Universe.
(Incidentally, this year also saw the publication of Mission From Mount Yoda, Queen of the Empire and Prophets of the Dark Side, altogether the second half of the Glove of Darth Vader series, in which a three-eyed slave lord pretending to be Emperor Palpatine's three-eyed son attempts to marry a robotic duplicate of Princess Leia in an Imperial wedding ceremony presided over by a grand moff in a flying Professor X chair reading from a dark side Bible, only to be killed when the robotic Princess Leia shoots him with its laser eyes.)
Most significantly for our purposes, though, 1993 brought a new series of comics published by Dark Horse called Tales of the Jedi (hereinafter "TOTJ"), written primarily by the late Tom Veitch in occasional collaboration with Kevin J. Anderson. This should not be confused with the animated series which ran on Disney Plus in 2022 which used the same title (and the same logo, oddly enough); this was a series which forayed into the far distant past of the Star Wars galaxy and told stories about the adventures of the Jedi knights who lived 4,000 years before the events of the Star Wars movies.
The comic's second story arc was previewed in Dark Horse Comics #7 and ran subsequently in TOTJ #4-6. It was called "The Saga of Nomi Sunrider" and it introduced one of my all-time favourite Star Wars characters (can you tell?) in the form of a young Jedi named Nomi Sunrider. As the widow of a Jedi knight who becomes a Jedi herself while raising her young daughter, she is a character who could probably only have been created in 1993, when the Star Wars Expanded Universe was in its infancy, artists and writers were taking a few swings and feeling out the setting and seeing what would work and, most importantly, George Lucas had not decided that Jedi could not marry or have children yet.
I could talk at some length about why I like Nomi, but will refrain in the interest of brevity, for that's all by the way. You may read between the lines of the preceding paragraph and it should be sufficient to draw inferences. For our purposes, the most important character introduced in TOTJ is actually Nomi's infant daughter, Vima Sunrider. Vima is a child for most of the comic's run and, to the extent that she has a role, it is to get into trouble so she can be rescued.
However, in the final TOTJ story arc, Redemption (which is a great story in its own right and very probably the best thing Kevin J. Anderson ever wrote in his time as a Star Wars author), an older Vima is the main character. Headstrong and wilful but fundamentally good-hearted, Vima by now has a strained relationship with Nomi, whose responsibilities as the leader of the Jedi keep her from Vima herself. Vima runs away and seeks out Ulic Qel-Droma, now disgraced and embittered living in exile, and persuades him to become her master.
Knights of the Old Republic
TOTJ: Redemption #1 hit the stands in July 2001. A couple of months earlier in May, a new Star Wars game was announced at E3. Initially scheduled for release in 2002 but later pushed back to 2003, this was an RPG developed by Bioware and it was called Knights of the Old Republic (hereinafter "KOTOR"; I believe it was also called This Game Is 90% of the Reason Why You Bought an Xbox for a time in 2003).
Anecdotally, I would have been about 10 or 11 and making my very first forays onto the internet when I first became aware of KOTOR. Since I was a huge fan of TOTJ, one thing that really interested me was the announcement that Vima Sunrider was going to be one of the main characters (shown here in concept art, which seems, from its annotation, to indicate that the, "Female companion falls to the dark side," storyline from the game was planned originally with Vima in mind). Indeed, I remember visiting the KOTOR website (or perhaps it was the Bioware website; it was either one or the other) in, perhaps, 2002, around the time I became aware of the game, and seeing Vima Sunrider's profile in its cast of characters section.
However, when the game finally came out and I had the opportunity to play it, Vima Sunrider was no longer included. The game's female lead, the character who had been named Vima Sunrider on the KOTOR site, was now called "Bastila Shan" (another of my favourite Star Wars characters). I have a distinct recollection of the name "Bastila Shan" being used on the aforementioned KOTOR website as well, but there, it had been attributed to another member of the player's party, a female Cathar Jedi, who would appear in the game with the name "Juhani".
There are certain congruences between Vima, as we had seen her in TOTJ, and Bastila as she appears in the game. Vima was a strong-willed and sometimes reckless teenager who was determined to be a great Jedi whatever the cost. She loved Nomi deeply, but felt distant from her mother as Nomi's official duties occupied much of her time. And, although it does not appear in TOTJ directly, another of Tom Veitch's Star Wars comics, Dark Empire, features a character named Vima-Da-Boda, a distant descendant of Vima Sunrider who explains that her ancestor was famous for her skill in the Jedi art of battle meditation.
Bastila, meanwhile, is a young woman who strives to master her emotions and be the ideal Jedi but is nonetheless brash and impulsive, keenly aware of her abilities but also of the great things expected of her. She harbours ill-feeling towards her mother, who appears in a sidequest in the game in which the player has the option to help them repair their relationship. Right from the start of KOTOR, it is made clear that Bastila is vital to the Republic war effort because of her skill in the Jedi art of, as you probably know already, battle meditation. Taken all around, I think it is far from difficult to read even the iteration of Bastila Shan who appears in the finished game as an older and more mature version of Vima Sunrider.
Now, I did not follow the gaming news or keep track of developments, because I was a child and children don't care how the game is made so long as they get to play it, and I'm sure that the switch from Vima to Batsila was announced prior to its release (I am aware that, at one stage, "Sareth Dorn" was used as a placeholder for Vima/Bastila until the decision was made to rename Bastila/Juhani). As it happened, since I had paid no attention to the production news, I don't think I realised that the changeover had occurred even as I played the game beyond some very vague sense of, "Wasn't Vima Sunrider meant to be in this game?" after I had played it.
What, then, had happened to Vima?
Sunroofs
The actual details are surprisingly spotty. There seems to be no grand write-up which summarises exactly what the issue was. Even Wookieepedia, which is so grognardishly obsessed with any even vaguely Star Wars-related minutiae that it has two different versions of a page for delicious bacon, makes only the broadest allusions to vague "legal issues".
Chris Avellone, the lead writer for Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, commented on the Obsidian forums all the way back in 2005:
Vima was supposed to be Bastila in K1 (seriously), but there are legal issues with using the name "Sunrider" so we were not allowed to use it in K2.
In the immediate term, I believe that this was the extent of what anyone outside Lucasfilm, Bioware and Obsidian (i.e. Star Wars fans) knew. However, as it would transpire, the problem was seemingly rooted in a legal dispute around intellectual property rights vested in the "Sunrider" name (thrilling, I know). As near as anyone could tell, the objection came from a company called Bestop Inc., which manufactured (and continues to manufacture) accessories for jeeps and trucks. One of their products is called Sunrider, a kind of sunroof for hardtop vehicles, and bizarre though it may seem, it would tend to appear that they did not want the name of their product to be used in a Star Wars game. This is the story which passed into legend: that Vima Sunrider was unable to appear in KOTOR because there was concern that she may be confused with a popular brand of sunroof for jeeps.
I honestly have no idea who got there first. Users on TheForce.net message boards in 2006 appear to have surmised that a patent for the Sunrider sunroof was filed by Jeep in the early to mid 1990s, but even if the vehicle accessory predated the comic character, it is still not a surprise that Bestop would not have pursued it. After all, the TOTJ comics were admittedly pretty obscure outside the Star Wars fandom while KOTOR was a high-profile game (indeed, as recently as 2021, I visited a KOTOR mods forum where one modder remarked that they had only just discovered the existence of TOTJ and that they had no idea that there even were comics which had inspired KOTOR at all!). I see no reason not to believe that Veitch created / used the name "Sunrider" in good faith in any event, since it is very much in the same pulp sci-fi line as "Skywalker") but Lucasfilm evidently decided that it was not worth fighting.
Outcome
Vima became Bastila and Bastila became Juhani in KOTOR, and Bastila was rewritten and became the distinctive character we know and love today. I wonder sometimes whether the sidequest involving Helena, Bastila's mother, was ever imagined as a potential appearance of Nomi Sunrier, but I suppose we shall never know. Almost any reference to the name "Sunrider" whatsoever was excised from the game, with a single exception which Bioware admitted later was an oversight, when Jolee Bindo gives Nomi's full name when he describes Jedi he has known.
One amusing observation some fans have remarked upon is how the inclusion of Vima would have fit into the Star Wars timeline: the last TOTJ comic, in which Vima is 14, took place 30 years before the events of KOTOR; however, Bastila is usually taken to be a young woman in her early twenties. Was Vima/Bastila intended to be an older character, a woman in her forties? Did Bioware intend to do the sensible thing and prudently avoid strict adherence to the timeline established by some comics which were by then yesterday's news so they could actually tell the story they wanted to tell instead? Once more, we shall probably never know.
Beyond KOTOR, the Sunrider name was carefully avoided for the next several years throughout the Star Wars Expanded Universe, no doubt for fear of attracting litigation. Even when Nomi is referenced obliquely in Knights of the Old Republic II (where "Nomi's Robe" and "Nomi's Armband" are equippable items), her surname was judiciously omitted. With that being said, the name would be included in the 2005 reference book The New Essential Chronology, although this was substantively reproducing text from the original (and much better) Essential Chronology) from 2000.
In this context, it is interesting in retrospect to look back at the position Nomi Sunrider (and most of the TOTJ characters, to be honest) occupied in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. She was a prominent EU original in the 1990s, and I would go so far as to argue (biased though I may be) that she was at least as significant as, say, Mara Jade. She was even placed front and centre on the cover of the original Essential Guide to Characters in 1995! The most significant usage the characters would receive after this would be in the Old Republic MMORPG (which I must disclose I have not played), in which Nomi made a small appearance as a hologram... and was referred to not as Nomi Sunrider, but as Nomi-Da-Boda, which was retconned here to be her maiden name! (As well as writing around the trademark, this served to clarify her connection to her distant descendant, the aforementioned Vima-Da-Boda. This is one of those little "fixes" or bits of "worldbuilding" that most Star Wars fans apparently love but which I personally find thoroughly risible, though that's neither here nor there.)
One stray observation I will make is that Nomi and Vima were scheduled to make a comeback of sorts in a novel called Mandorla, which was announced in 2009 but was cancelled in 2012. No details of this book have ever been revealed to the best of my knowledge and I do not know how far along it got in the three years between its announcement and cancellation. I believe (though I cannot locate the source) that Del Rey editor Sue Rostoni commented on the legal issue, which was by then well-known to fans, around the time of the announcement, and explained that the "Sunrider" name could be used in the text of the novel, but could not appear on the cover.
(If you will pardon me for editorialising, I shall note that part of me wishes I could read it, because it's another Nomi and Vima story, but another part (perhaps the greater part) hopes I never do, because I'm convinced, just based on when it was solicited and looking at the general tenor of the Star Wars EU of that time, that it would have concerned itself with "fixing" Tales of the Jedi to make it "fit" better with KOTOR, which is another kettle of fish entirely.)
Final thought
I leave you with a line from the game, which I think sums things up: "They say the Force can do terrible things to a mind: it can wipe away your memories and destroy your very identity... but it's got nothing on intellectual property lawyers."

2023.03.28 00:17 TJP2002 current situation: the story so far and the subreddits stance

Hi. I originally was going to do a post on this earlier and more long form, but still. The facts as I could verify them and the subreddits stance are as follows:
1) This is, admittedly, the Palaye Royale Subreddit. That means no direct toxicity at the band as an entity nor any fan here is to be tolerated.
2) The facts are that:
A) coffinclaws, avatarcountries, and baboonbiersack on twitter, came forward with allegations and partial evidence of Emerson sexting a minor from an unknown source claimed to be the victim.
B) The rumors surrounding it also included that nudes of the fan and age confirmation appeared in the evidence.
C) Emerson posted, denying the allegations, clarifying that all relationships of his have been consensual and legal, and that his and Shys relationship was an open. Sebastian went online to defend his brother and threatened legal action, since, as they claimed, the images were not released by the girl but by an ex or current boyfriend of the girl, and therefore this was leaked information, revenge porn, and libel about the fan being a minor. All of which are able to be sued or charged over
D) Palaye then leaked a demo snippet on discord a few hours later. Whether planned or not in advance many claimed it was proof Palaye uses new material to discredit and distract from controversy
E) One crucial facet of both sides was debunked the next day however. As eventually a copy of the screenshots no longer containing Emerson's literal dick and balls was placed online and available for all to see without being removed, it became clear that absolutely no evidence of the fans age was there to be seen. Meaning the pro Palaye side had a victory, as the allegations of it being a minor now we're just the claims of 3 recent fans turned antis who wanted to tear the band down. But that was about to get negated, because later that day we found that Shy had ended her relationship with Emerson
F) Shy was very vague in her statement, but between that and a couple tweets she liked and retweeted, it appears that her side of the story is that Emerson got with a legal age fan, then lied about it to at least twitter, maybe to her personally as well, which means he either blatantly cheated on her, or broke the terms of their polyamory by either not telling her or by it being a younger fan. As a result of that, and because she was appalled that he abused the artist/fan dynamic for sex, regardless of having consent and legal age, she left him.
G) Palaye has continued business as usual, having denied the allegations. The fanbase is in turmoil of sorts. I asked avatarcountries, display name leithal, (the only one of the 3 I recommend talking to), as to whether any confirmation of age already was out there, how they knew, if they could send me anything without giving any identifying information.
H) They said they know the person well enough to be certain in their mind that they are the age they claimed to be, and that while they didn't feel comfortable or right giving anything more upon request right now, to keep the girls info safe, to keep an eye out, as more information was almost certainly going to be coming out soon including confirmation of minor or adult. Immediately afterwards baboonbiersack and coffinclaws private quote retweeted my question to exemplify apologists and doxxers trying to endanger the girl in question, so that I'd look like an asshole but also be unable to respond. I've left Palayetwt and I'm gearing up my secondary account to become my main, because I'm staying out of this until the whole truth is revealed.
3) We spent a long time making this a safe and non-toxic space. Discuss this if you want, or don't. Support or oppose the band, you are welcome. Just no being toxic, or rude, civil discussion and evidence based, if not proven, facts, or we will enforce the subreddits rules, and mute or ban your ass.
