2023.03.28 03:36 Capable_Discipline_9 Story time

I dont post much about my basketball team cause I feel I will jinx it. But tonight is special
The 1st thing I ever wanted to be when growing up was a basketball player specifically for The Kings. After a run in for high school tryouts with a coach that more cared about the "rich kids" than giving a poor kid a shot that dream died.
I continued to be a fan of the worst team in basketball and I was blessed with a few amazing years in the early 2000s. Then it was back to being the laughing stock of the NBA.
That never stopped me though. Through all the bad I continued to root for my Kings. Through 2 marriages and 3 kids I continued to root.
This year has been a kind of special I didnt think I would get again. My wife probably is sick of me taking about them. She has never known me of the early 2000s kings when I was full of hope and optimism. My kids probably don't understand their dad's excitement.
No matter what happens tonight I'll always be a fan, but thank you my Kings for this season. I'll always be Sacramento Proud.
P.S. FTL from now till the day I die

2023.03.26 12:45 IndicationUseful1552 WWE 2K23 MyRise Continuity

Alright so I love WWE video games. I played a plethora of the games licensed by this Titan of wrestling entertainment all the way back from No Mercy on the 64 (still goated with the sauce). And I've loved My Career mode for 2K games since like NBA 2K10 (the agent was always on my case because I was very young and very bad).
To fast forward to last year, I bought and played 2K22 because I heard and saw good content coming from it after one of the 2k's was suspended after the move from Yukes to 2K created some.. less than optimal. I was enjoying it for the most part after making my guy and leveling up was pretty sweet.
The game soured for me when I found lacking continuity in the MyRise storylines. For example, say I win King of the Ring and the aftermath of the storyline has my character run around as King Hudson. I then go into an intercontinental championship storyline and it's like King of the Ring never happened. No choice to come out as King Hudson or my original moniker. I know the only thing that was confirmed to be dependent on your input for MyRise was the face/heel storyline mechanic so it may just be a nitpicky thing on my end.
To formally ask the question, are there continuity options like that in 2K23? If I earn the US title and go for the WWE title, would I have the belt in my entrance or are the belts only referenced and exist in their respective storylines?
Bonus question if you also have this answer: are there more random elements for the superstar mode in universe mode? Picking my rivalries and rivals in universe mode felt very.. sandbox mode over superstar mode where I thought I only controlled one superstar.

2023.03.25 08:07 xxStayFly81xx If you could rank these defensive roles in terms of importance, which would be the most and which would be the least?

To expand on that, by defensive roles, I'm talking about the jobs of defenders.
You have the "free safety" defenders who are the Giannis/Mobleys of the world who's main responsibility is to provide help defense. While good 1v1 defenders, their length and ability to help get them into the play from almost any point on the court. They're often players who come from the weakside to help at the rim or start rotations for teams.
There's the the POA (Point of Attack) defenders. This contains defensive guards like Marcus Smart/Jrue Holiday/GP2/Caruso who's main responsibility is to guard that lead playmaker while on defense often in isolations or even getting around/under screens. Great POA defenders make big's lives easier which is especially important as most bigs today end up going into drop coverage off screens. By having elite POA defenders, you can minimize the opportunities for offensive players to work in getting sets they're looking for either through icing screen, hedging or chasing.
The rim protectoanchor big is probably the most common defensive role that everyone knows. They're the Gobert/Lopez/Embiid of the NBA. They're the last line of defense to stop the "easiest shot in basketball." Most bigs today end up playing drop coverage and fall back to the rim during screen plays. A lot of times their actual impact isn't shown in basic box scores because it's hard to quantify how often these defenders cause offensive players to go back out and attempt reset plays.
The "Switchable" Big ala the Bam Adebayos/Draymond Green type players. These are the types of bigs who, rather than play drop, outright switch onto opposing guards during screens and end up guarding them. These types of bigs are great vs teams who move the ball around a lot as it limits weak links in the defense. These bigs are often smaller than typical drop bigs but they're far more agile and quicker.
The "wing defender" is that Herb Jones/Kawhi type archetype. Basically a long, elite defender who has the length to guard most 1-4s. They're often not as quick as 1s but not as slow footed as most 4s either. They often have great length and/or quick hands to allow them to contest. These guys often are really good at following off ball players too and recovering around screens.
Basically, if you're creating your optimal defense, which type of role are you looking to start with and build around. And which type is the most "replaceable."

This is a common sports betting method that goes over how you can make $500 per day, risk-free by capitalizing on mispricing in the sports betting market. Although legalization only happened recently, sports betting around the world has seen a significant amount of new sportsbooks starting up every year. This, along with the complexity of adjusting to the supply and demand of bettors means that sportsbooks often have very mispriced odds.
This creates a significant opportunity for people to bet on both possible outcomes of an event and guarantee themselves a profit! Before I show you more, check out my other guide here, which goes over how to make $5,000 - $10,000 risk-free by signing up for new user bonuses with various regulated sportsbooks!
*This guide assumes you know the basics of sports betting. If you do not, please follow this link to find a quick online guide

What is Arbitrage Betting

Example:

How to Find Arbitrage Opportunities

How to Avoid Account Limits

By arbing, you guarantee a profit for yourself, which guarantees a loss for the sportsbooks, something they are not very fond of. It is important that you read the T&Cs of each sportsbook because many will put certain clauses that target arbers and other undesirable customers.
If you are playing only on regulated sportsbooks in your country, you should never have any problem withdrawing your money unless you do something very wrong. Remember, arbing is legal so this alone will not warrant the sportsbooks to hold your funds.
Below are some tips to stay off the radar of your sportsbook for as long as possible:
1. Round Bets to a Reasonable Number:
2. Don’t Deposit/Withdraw Frequently:
3. Stick to Main Markets if you are in it for the Long Haul:
4. Don’t Make Repeated Bets:
5. Bet Only on Major Leagues:
6. Deposit/Withdraw to One Bank Account:
7. Never Cover Bets on the same Sportsbook
By doing all this, you will most likely fly under the radar for a significant amount of time and if you are consistently betting each day, you can make thousands of dollars. For reference, I made almost $20,000 from arbing and about $5,000 from sign-up bonuses and I wish I had this guide when I started!

Tips to Maximize Earnings

1. Keep an Optimal Amount of Funds in Sportsbooks with the Most Arb Opportunities
2. Take Advantage of Boosts
3. Place your First Bet on the Sportsbook that is Heavily Mispriced

2023.03.22 23:22 frs_goz21 PG’s injury wont have the same result as Kawhi’s

Context : I go to a Physical Therapy practice that regularly treats local collegiate and pro athletes. We had an nba guy this fall when i started going, cant say who, other than he is an NJ native.
We talked a bit in the office about the injury, and the way the injury occurred is likely why he is listed with a sprain. Had dort been moving forward into PG more he would have put more force into the hyperextension, and potentially went into rotation which is the motion which usually causes ACL ruptures.
He likely has a PCL sprain which fits the 2-3 week evaluation period. At this point, we pray that this is the true diagnosis. Not for the hope that PG comes back this season, but for his overall health and career. Its a much easier recovery and much less severe. There was optimism that this isn’t ACL since full ruptures can be diagnosed immediately after incident most of the time.

2023.03.22 02:06 alpha_bionics Basketball News - However, he had a setback in January, reports Jon Krawczynski at The Athletic, and it has taken until now to get back.

However, he had a setback in January, reports Jon Krawczynski at The Athletic, and it has taken until now to get back. The gritty Knicks, with Jalen Brunson back in the rotation, have a two-game cushion to hold on to the No. 5 seeds, which is an accomplishment in and of itself. Coming up, this contract is hopefully my biggest one, one where I’m making sure my family’s fully taken care of. There are games one watches the Heat and thinks, “this team is catching the Nets,” like the recent win over Memphis. Following his playing career, Willis mentored the next generation as a coach, team executive and proud HBCU alumnus. This is a deal that should come together. But first, Hart and the Knicks are headed to the playoffs, and Madison Square Garden will be rocking. The Bucks have a 2. 5-game lead (three in the loss column) over Boston with 11 games to play, and the Bucks don’t have a particularly difficult schedule. Memphis will be without Steven Adams (right knee PCL sprain), Brandon Clarke (left Achilles tear), Vince Williams Jr. (right shoulder soreness), and Dillon Brooks (NBA suspension). Cleveland Cavaliers, 45-28: Cleveland takes a top-three spot, as it once did the first few months of the season, following some solid performances in March. Washington Wizards, 32-39: It’s the same ol’ story for the Wizards: The roster isn’t good enough and their Beal-Porzingis-Kuzma Big 3 isn’t scary. Chicago Bulls, 34-37: It’s not saying much, but the Bulls’ three-game winning streak makes them the hottest in the conference. He’s quickly become a fan favorite in New York, but the Knicks will have to pay up to keep him. “My earliest and fondest memories of NBA basketball are of watching Willis, who embodied the winning spirit that defined the New York Knicks’ championship teams in the early 1970s. pic. twitter. com/oYdCM27ZeD — NBA (@NBA) March 21, 2023Then there was the Timberwolves, who were more balanced but equally hot, shooting better than 70% as a team in the first half. pic. twitter. com/oYdCM27ZeD— NBA (@NBA) March 21, 2023Then there was the Timberwolves, who were more balanced but equally hot, shooting better than 70% as a team in the first half. Orlando Magic, 29-43: Not much separates Orlando from the team above it in this list, but there’s still optimism for brighter years ahead with its young core. Atlanta Hawks, 35-36: It seems like no matter what Atlanta does, they can’t seem to escape parity this season. However, it’s one thing to walk the line and another to step over it constantly. It will not be easy by any means, but if it were easy, everybody would do it. “It’s not easy to win in this league,” added Joel Embiid. Denver Nuggets, 48-24: Like Boston, the Nuggets also may have peaked early and have hit a rough patch the last few weeks. - Alpha AI

UTAH (33-36, 4-5 post-ASB) 13 games remaining, 8 home 5 away (BOS, SAC, POR, MIL, @SAC, PHX, @SAS, @BOS, LAL, OKC, DEN, @LAL) Projected record based on post-ASB win%: 6-7 (finishing at 39-43) Tankathon SOS: 1st with .557 OP win % 2 B2B sets MIL/@SAC, DEN/@LAL ”Rested” games - BOS, @BOS ”Rested” opponents @LAL
LAL (34-36, 7-4 post-ASB) 12 games remaining, ”8” home 4 away (DAL, ORL, PHX, OKC, CHI, @CHI, @MIN, @HOU, @Utah, @LAC, PHX, Utah) Projected record based on post-ASB win%: 8-4 (finishing at 42-40) Tankathon SOS: 27th with .468 OP win % 1 B2B set - @Utah/@LAC ”Rested” games - ORL, OKC, PHX, Utah ”Rested” opponents - @LAC
OKC (34-36, 6-7 post-ASB) 12 games remaining, 5 home 7 away (PHX, @LAC twice, @LAL, @POR, CHA, DET, @IND, PHX, @GSW, @Utah, MEM) Projected record based on post-ASB win%: 5-7 (finishing at 39-43) Tankathon SOS: 25th with .471 OP win % 2 B2B set @LAC/@LAL, CHA/DET ”Rested” games - none ”Rested” opponents - @LAL, DET
DAL (35-35, 4-6 post-ASB) 12 games remaining, 5 home 7 away (@LAL, @MEM, GSW, CHA, @CHA, @IND, @PHI, @MIA, @ATL, SAC, CHI, SAS) Projected record based on post-ASB win%: 5-7 (finishing at 40-42) Tankathon SOS: 24th with .474 OP win % 2 B2B sets - @CHA/@IND, @MIA/@ATL ”Rested” games - CHA, SAC, SAS ”Rested” opponents - @IND, @ATL
MIN (35-35, 4-5 post-ASB) 12 games remaining, 4 home 8 away (@CHI, @TOR, @NYK, ATL, @GSW, @SAC, @PHX, LAL, POR, @BKN, @SAS, NOP) Projected record based on post-ASB win%: 5-7 (finishing at 40-42) Tankathon SOS: 20th with .492 OP win % 3 B2B sets @CHI/@TOR, @GSW/@SAC, @SAS/NOP ”Rested” games - ATL ”Rested” opponents @TOR, @SAC, NOP
GSW (36-34, 7-5 post-ASB) 12 games remaining, 5 home, 7 away (@ATL, @MEM, @HOU, @DAL, PHI, MIN, NOP, SAS, @DEN, OKC, @SAC, @POR) Projected record based on post-ASB win% 7-5 (finishing at 43-39) Tankathon SOS: 18th with .497 OP win% 1 B2B set @ATL/@MEM ”Rested” games - @HOU, NOP, @POR ”Rested” opponents - none
LAC (37-33, 4-5 post-ASB) 12 games remaining, 7 home, 5 away (ORL, @POR, OKC twice, NOP, CHI, @MEM twice, @NOP, LAL, POR, @PHX) Projected record based on post-ASB win% 5-7 (finishing at 42-40) Tankathon SOS: 19th with .494 OP win% 3 B2B sets ORL/@POR, @MEM/@NOP, [email protected] ”Rested” games - CHI, @MEM, LAL ”Rested” opponents - @POR, @NOP, @PHX
PHX (38-32, 6-4 post-ASB) 12 games remaining, 6 home, 6 away (@OKC, @LAL, @SAC, PHI, @Utah, MIN, DEN, @OKC, SAS, DEN, @LAL, LAC) Projected record based on post-ASB win% 7-5 (finishing at 45-37) Tankathon SOS: 7th with .518 OP win% 1 B2B set @SAC/PHI ”Rested” games - DEN, LAC ”Rested” opponents - @LAL
A few notes about the remaining schedule:
-This would leave the final results, in order: 4. PHX 45-37 5. GSW 43-39 6. LAC 42-40 7. LAL 42-40 8. MIN 40-42 9. DAL 40-42 10. OKC 39-43 11. Utah 39-43 12. NOP 37-45
-MIN would be 8th and DAL 9th based on MIN clinching the H2H tiebreaker 2-1. LAC would be 6th with their H2H tiebreaker over LAL already clinched. OKC would clinch the tiebreaker over Utah by winning the last matchup on 4/6 which they currently lead 2-1
-This doesn’t take into account any teams that might rest players down the stretch, but with DEN sliding a bit everyone has something to play for, whether it’s the 1-seed or any other positioning.
-This also doesn’t take into account how atrocious GSW is on the road, but if they pick off HOU and DAL (maybe without Luka) that might be enough to keep them out of the play-in, especially with POR probably not having anything to play for besides draft positioning.
-If you harbor any dreams of OKC jumping to 4th, first off I commend your optimism (jumping this many teams this late would be a feat). Secondly they HAVE to go 10-2 down the stretch to make it close; can’t lose any Western conference games to buff their conference and H2H records; and PHX/LAC have to play a little below water. I don’t trust GSW at this point in the season to play to their talent level.
-LAL ends on a somewhat soft schedule, helped by one of their road games being LAC, which coincidentally is on potentially an easier than normal B2B with Utah who might be tanking by then.
-This end of season has a somewhat round-robin feel, as it looks like most of these teams play each other in some combination. A bit of a fortuitous scheduling quirk for the NBA.
-One of these teams is going to screw the pooch and lose to a tanking team that will cost them a seed/play-in spot. POR would be the most likely candidate to pull off an upset or two down the stretch. Utah also could pull the plug on the season at some point and then that flips quite a few things on its head.
-I expect a lot of positioning to come down to the last day of the season. I’ll give the advantage to DAL and GSW who play SAS and POR, both of which should be on vacation mode with nothing to play for. MIN and OKC could also fall into this category if NOP falls out of the play-in race entirely and MEM is locked into their seed on the last day.

2023.03.17 11:01 Key-Piece-3206 Sports Betting Arbitrage Guide

Background

This is a verified method that goes over how you can make $500 per day, risk-free by capitalizing on mispricing in the sports betting market.

2023.03.15 16:57 deejpro11 Who To Root For! Wednesday 3/15/2023

Happy Wednesday everyone! Welcome back to season 3 of Who To Root For!
For those who missed the first post I’ll summarize briefly: dual focus on these daily posts looking at the day’s schedule, with a chance of OKC still making the 10 seed (or higher), but also jumping as high as 5 in the Tankathon standings. I’ll cut out the focus on the race for the 10 seed if OKC falls to 6 games out (including tiebreakers I should add). Similarly if they get to 5 games ahead of IND/POR (or whoever is in 6 or 7 in the reverse standings) I’ll stop focusing on a tank chase for those pick slots.
Also because of how clumped the West is, here is the official NBA tiebreaker rules
With 13 games left in their season, OKC is tied with LAL/DAL for 8th-9th-10th in the West (OKC is 8th based on tiebreakers); 1 game behind MIN for 7th (MIN has the H2H tiebreaker 2-1); 2 games back of GSW/LAC for 5th-6th (GSW leads 2-1 with one more game upcoming; OKC up 2-0 on LAC with 2 more to play). They’re 3 games ahead of IND/POR, 2 games ahead of WAS/CHI, and a game ahead of TONOP/Utah in the reverse standings (tiebreakers do not matter for draft positioning, only for playoffs/play-in spots).
LAC is tied with GSW for 5th-6th but 3 games ahead of Utah/NOP from being out of the play-in entirely.
Recap of last night’s games: OKC overcomes a slow start to beat BKN and put skipping the play-in entirely within range! SAS put a dagger in OKC catching ORL with the upset (6 games with 13-14 to go is way too much especially for bad teams). Otherwise this was a perfect night for the play-in chase - WAS/TONYK/LAL all won over DET/DEN/PONOP in the games that mattered to make OKC the 8-seed currently.
Here are tonight’s games:
GAMES TO IGNORE: PHI-CLE and MEM-MIA both can be ignored as they’re all a bit too far ahead of OKC to matter. If you really want to optimize for the LAC pick MIA over MEM would be the only call here.
TANK RESULTS: Even on the off-night there’s plenty of matchups to watch. If you think things are going to turn for the worse, you’d want LAL/CHI/MIN/DAL/GSW to all win over HOU/SAC/BOS/SAS/LAC to push OKC (and LAC’s!) pick downwards.
PLAY-IN RESULTS: Now on the play-in chase, flip HOU/BOS/SAS to win their games, and leave CHI/GSW as winners as well. Only downside is DAL/MIN/LAL all losing is not great for the LAC pick swap but that’s a minor quibble at this point.
Have a great day everyone and stay safe!

2023.03.13 04:28 KnicksNBAchamps2021 If Lebron came up in the late 80s and 90s instead of MJ what would be the ideal roster to build around Bron?

If Bron was drafted in 84 instead of Jordan and had to come up through that NBA, what kind of team do you think he would have been surrounded by in order to optimize his talent. I know the obvious answer is floor spacing but 3 pointers were not a big part of the game back then so it would be hard to find players that could be good to great shooter. Imo I think his best option would have to be hope to get drafted in an organization that has another Star or he would have to be surrounded by great defensive players

2023.03.10 10:15 ArmyofSpies Cardano Rumor Rundown March 10, 2023

Hey Everyone!
Let’s go….
Newly Covered Today:
  1. Big Pey is launching something called Atrium Lab. https://twitter.com/bigpeyYT/status/1633830948575010816
  2. Believe it or not…legal systems made up entirely by coders may not be optimal. Incredibly, the study of law is actually a fully developed centuries old academic discipline that lies outside of JavaScript and Python. Unless you have full anonymity, you WILL be cross-chain bridged to IRL law. Some DAOs will learn this the hard way. https://twitter.com/lex_node/status/1633925979004436481
  3. The NY Attorney General just filed against Kucoin for being an unregistered broker-dealer. Here’s the important part: they’re alleging that ETH is a security and a commodity. Their argument is not complex...it’s very straightforward. https://www.docdroid.net/Myyp0yz/kucoin-pdf
  4. Silvergate was a failure of fractional reserve banking, not of crypto. https://twitter.com/CaitlinLong_/status/1633608132713938945
  5. The current US Administration’s Budget seeks to eliminate tax loss harvesting for crypto, add a 30% tax on energy used in crypto mining, hike capital gains taxes on high earners, and beam us directly to clown world with an unrealized gains tax on high earners. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/budget_fy2023.pdf
  6. The subcommittee hearing on “the Administration’s Attack” on crypto went about like expected. Paul Grewal of Coinbase along with Prof. Evans of Penn State Law made some persuasive pleas for regulatory clarity. The “Anti-Crypto Party”™ also brought out their favorite witness from Duke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOUUy4_KwNU
  7. Rep. Emmer (Pro-Crypto) called the current regulatory approach “lazy & destructive…that is chilling innovation.” https://www.youtube.com/live/aOUUy4_KwNU?feature=share&t=5670
  8. Rep. Foster (Anti-Crypto): “this is the essential thing that has to be provided for the healthy development of the crypto industry…somewhere there has to be an API provided by a trusted 3rd party to register your crypto wallets.” Why not just completely neuter crypto? https://www.youtube.com/live/aOUUy4_KwNU?feature=share&t=5266
  9. Rep. Ritchie Torres (Pro-Crypto) pointed out offshore deregulated overleveraged centralized crypto companies pose the greatest risk to consumers. But, the regulators don’t focus there. They incredibly only attack the onshore entities. He also pointed out the absurdity of the idea a stablecoin is a security. (Sadly there’s the Section 2(a)(1) exposure). https://www.youtube.com/live/aOUUy4_KwNU?feature=share&t=5703
  10. Rep. Davidson (Pro-Crypto) shamed his anti-crypto colleagues for their implied claims that these assets are the same as centralized assets and came out strongly supporting self-custody and pointed out there was no FTX risk if you self-custodied your assets. “We have people overtly trying to make self-custody illegal.” https://www.youtube.com/live/aOUUy4_KwNU?feature=share&t=6034
