What?
I wear socks to bed and they’re the toe socks so whatever. The socks I wear to bed are the socks I wear the next day wakening up in the morning.
I shower at night after my dinner right before shutting everything down and being in my bed tv or phone and sleeping till morning; so it works.
I also still do the untie and tie my shoes off and on each time. I don’t slip on and never tie and untie my shoes after the figuring out how the laces are to be first buying shoes.
…and yes I wear boots in the summer. But I wear jeans all year. I do that 1990’s John Stameos regular ol solid color t shirt; regular Ol black leather belt silver buckle; regular Ol blue jeans straight legged and boot. …and in the cold weather I do the same thing only difference is the top is flannel and my gym shoes I said about tieing.
Of course I’ve otherwise I once was a kid. But once I hit 20; when my own spweal of things could be full swing I started that. Early enough to not bother me.
Like the very back last tooth on the bottom left that sit next to the wisdom teeth… that tooth and my wisdom teeth I don’t have anymore. But not something I said and did. Apparently some teeth just don’t cooperate if you will and even though I take care of my mouth unless except for when I can’t get to it… they were week and needed gone. Now if I have caused it; then yeah it would be something I said and did and bother me. But because it isn’t something I said and did; it is like all good. Not trying to be perfect.
The argument was that I’m allowed but why can’t I just wear shorts aren’t I burning up what is wrong with shorts?
But I’m allowed.
Flip it around and see how it would make no sense if I were you and you were me in this. Why ask and at that if allowed?

Approximately seven thousand years ago, when I was in my 20s, I was an Air Traffic Controller for The United States Air Force. As you might imagine, paying attention to stuff is sort of important when controlling airplanes. So, during our initial classroom training, part of the curriculum was “situational awareness,” which isn’t just you knowing what’s going on around you.
The APA Dictionary of Psychology defines situational awareness as: “conscious knowledge of the immediate environment and the events that are occurring in it. Situation awareness involves perception of the elements in the environment, comprehension of what they mean and how they relate to one another, and projection of their future states.”

My good pal, Dave was taking about listening to the birds while he was having a smoke, then he came up with this fun riff. I put it on GarageBand and ran with it. I think it’s fun. I have words for it, but I’m not confident enough singing it yet.

I have a 16 month old who doesn’t say any words or gesture at all. His communication method is tugging on us if he wants us or cries/whines. His early intervention speech therapy keeps getting pushed because of ongoing daycare illnesses.
Anyway, is it possible to teach a baby that doesn’t gesture sign language? He seems to understand communication OK. I say “turn the page” while reading, and he will turn the page. I ask him to get stewie (his toy sloth) and he’ll get it. What are the best resources for baby sign language?
On a different note - did any of you have a baby that gestured and spoke late but turned out fine? He’s hitting other milestones fine as far as I know.

I’m someone who somehow always gets dirt in their charging port no matter how hard i try to clean it with a toothpick i just can’t seem to get it all out so my lightning port (usb c back when i used to have androids but same situation) will always wobble & i have to keep it in a certain position to take a charge
this is currently happening on my iPhone 12 and it’s annoying me because I thought i was doing a good job at preventing dirt from getting in especially since me previous iPhone 11 did the same thing although the lightning port lasted much longer before it became wobbly. My 12 started last 1/2 weeks yet i’ve had it since last summer
I’m just so glad magsafe exists, i’m going to buy it so whenever i upgrade this phone my next iPhone will utilize it and i could be stress free

Okay due to another thread here I was looking at Logitech Crayon specs and I noticed a very odd inconsistency. It is supported on all iPads that used Apple Pencil from 2018 - present. That means it is supported on a 6th gen iPad and a 6th gen iPad Pro.
Note that the 2018 6th gen iPad used Apple Pencil v1 and the 2022 6th gen iPad Pro M2 uses the Apple Pencil v2
I feel like there is some kind of marketing reason that an Apple Pencil 1 can’t work on an M2 iPad Pro, I know the charging would have to be via a lightning cord with adapter, but it did suck having to retire a perfectly good Apple Pencil when I upgraded my iPad Pro from gen 1 to gen 6…
Also why is the Crayon NOT supported on the gen1 iPad Pro???

I’m mainly just wanting somewhere to vent how I feel. I’m 18, am a student and have a part time job in retail. I suppose I best start with college. I study childcare in college which I am incredibly frustrated with at the minute. Other students in my course are massive a**holes and I’m getting fed up of their constant cheeky comments which are honestly just rude. I hate college right now due to being overworked at work and college. I can hardly keep up and on multiple occasions went weeks without submitting anything.
I work for a major retail company, little to say the saying that we’re just a number is especially true here. Now, this is a massive billion pound company that pays alright but doesn’t give any good contracts. They will only give 32-34h/week at full time. They expect us to be fully flexible for them when they don’t give us enough hours to even afford living. Meaning many of us there have a second job. Management are cr*p and head office have no clue whatsoever on what happens in their stores. We are understaffed and overworked expected to do the work of three people. It was so busy that it took me two weeks to be able to talk to my manager at work about my holiday request. I have on multiple occasions considered putting in my notice of resignation.
Now, I must admit. I loved playing games. Watching Netflix or anime. I had many friends online over the years but none of them talk to me anymore. It’s not due to a lack of me trying. I always try my best to keep friendships going on and keep playing with my friends as long as possible but they’re all drifting away from me. I’m left just feeling worthless or like a bad friend because I couldn’t keep contact. I hate playing games now but I think it’s due to missing the feeling of nostalgia.
I’m only 18 but I’m a heavy smoker, I have smoked since 15 and have been reliant on caffeine. So much so that my college referred me onto an addiction specialist. I have also got a problem with excessive eating. I can’t stop, I have tried so many times to get my habits under control but I think the eating is a coping mechanism. I am the fattest I have ever been, struggling to even go hillwalking which was one of my old hobbies. I don’t know how much more I can take. Life is just too much now and as a 18 year old I’m expected to be up and active doing something 24/7. I always am doing something. But the truth is, i’m tired. I can’t keep doing this.

I run distance in track (800m, 1600m, 3200m) and do a combination of two of those events at each meet. I’m in need of some feedback on my current workouts along with ideas for other beneficial workouts and I’ll be providing as much information as possible to also help if anyone is willing to tell me what some good goals for the season would be (I haven’t ran a meet this year yet.)

Hi guys. I have a small-ish update.
I know this sub is not exactly for my situation, I posted here because I was desperate and needed someone to reassure me I wasn't crazy. I posted in a bunch of subs and this is the one I was actually noticed at.
I know you guys aren't going to be so on board with how I'm handling this situation but I feel like you can also understand that leaving isn't so easy when a relationship is all you have.
People told me to contact my father's family for help, I tried, and he smoothly told me he does not care. I have no close enough friends who aren't friends with him to reach out to, and there isn't a woman's shelter in my city. I am also very adamant about contacting the police because my country's child laws are very strong on putting blood bonds over almost every type of abuse that is not full-blown crude sexual or physical abuse, I do not want to get back at my mom's house at any terms.
I know there's a possibility this isn't going to work out and the way he was acting wasn't okay, but he has been so good to me since now. I feel like he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
I spent the weekend trying to avoid having sex, I claimed I had a bruised cervix which did happen before so he understood and didn't push it further than just asking for oral a couple of times which I don't mind. He did make one weird joke on Saturday when I got out of the shower and he saw me and he said something along the lines of if you don't let me get what's mine I'll have to just get in myself. I guess he could see on my facial expression that I didn't find it funny and ensured me he was just joking, I genuinely believe him it was a joke that came off the wrong way.
I managed to talk to a school friend and ask for her help, today we skipped the first period and went to a nearby "salita" (i don't know how to describe it in English but a very small hospital for neighborhoods). I got a birth control shot.
I hoped I would be able to get a three months one but they didn't have any so I have to go back every month to get it on the same day. I still think it's better than pills because that means I don't have to hide any item. And it was free(yay) thanks to the girl in Argentina that sent me the link to them.
Later I started stressing about what would happen if the day of the month falls on the weekend and I do not have school to use as an excuse but I still have many months to go so that's a future me problem.
I will still try to stand my ground on him using condoms though.
I know I need some type of backup plan if the situation goes south, so I applied for government aid that's supposed to be for high school students from public schools, and it's supposed to help you with money for uniforms or school supplies. It's not much but I thought if I created a mercado pago account (Paypal for Argentina) that I can create from my home and put my money there in investing mode I can help it not all disappear from the inflation. I still don't know if I'm going to get accepted because it has a restriction on your parent's income and I am not sure how much they are making currently.
If he still doesn't want me to study when I turn 18 I can apply for a program that helps you for three months financially for people who are suffering domestic violence. The program seems too good to be true though so if someone in Argentina is reading this can you tell me if it's as accessible as it seems?
As per today was such a shitty weird day, when I got home from school and he got home from work I saw him and just started crying uncontrollably. He didn't ask me anything, he just held me and told me not to worry that everything was going to be okay, and that he was going to take care of me. I don't know if he had his own theory on why I was crying or if he didn't want to bother asking but I ended up falling asleep while hugging him. It made me feel like a hypocrite.
I feel like for the last months for the first time in my life I was just able to put my guard down and not walk on eggshells so It kind of sucks being back on analyzing everything someone says or does or makes me do.
I woke up like two hours ago and he went back to work so now I am now writing this not knowing how to feel.

I got my old alto out of storage, because I'm going to be playing sax on one song with my band. I haven't played it since the mid 1990s. There are two packs of Vandoren V16s from that era in the case. The reeds are still in their wrappers. Are they still good, or do I need to replace them?

My issue is that my graphics card is on its last legs and I can't afford a replacement atm. Most of my attempts to start my PC end with 4 beeps and no display. Rarely I'll start my PC and it will boot fine.
So my question is, is there a way to continuously restart my PC until it gets a good boot, because atm it's just me powering up and powering down in the hopes it will start.

So my friend, let’s call her Kayla. She is a wonderful friend, person, and has been in my life for a long time now. Recently this past year or so, she has been saying all the time how much she wants a baby.
Her boyfriend of 4 years doesn’t seem to be on the same page, but she wants one with him anyways. Even though we’ve all told her their relationship is really toxic and not good for her mental health.
She told me the other night that when her boyfriend pulled out on her stomach, she took a tissue and shoved it inside of her so she’d get pregnant. And more with her fingers. I didn’t know how to reply to that. Or respond. I just told her that she should find somebody who wants to have a child.
Now she is hoping to get pregnant. I hope she doesn’t because it’s not right. What are her odds? And should I tell her boyfriend ? She’s my best friend but I’d feel so guilty morally if I didn’t.
TLDR; best friend did something wrong and I’m stuck on what to do.

Can someone recommend parts and offer guidance on building a quiet 2U rack server that will serve as a virtualization platform? Can I achieve a truly quiet 2U server?
I know 1Us are out of the question, but will 2U allow for a quiet build? I'm trying to balance quietness with space efficiency, hence my desire for at least 2U. Or should I just go with a 3U build? I have a 20U rack that I want to put in my living room so I'm trying to keep things as small, but quiet, as possible.
What are some good motherboards for going the home built route? Supermicro? AsRock server mobos? I also would like out-of-band management capability and an upgrade path to achieve 10 Gbps networking.
What CPUs are recommended to keep the need for loud fans down, but without sacrificing the ability to reliably virtualize many servers and run some moderate loads.

Hello everybody! I am moving from Barcelona to Germany in the coming months for work with a one way ticket. My employer has stated that they don't really mind where I move to as long as it is in the northeastern part of the country. Let's say inside the area delimited by Schwerin, Magdeburg, Leipzig and Dresden.
I had in my mind that I would be moving to Berlin but the "find an appartment" situation is looking grim. Very little options and the rent prices are crazy (any advice on that front is more than welcome). So I started to look on the nearby places too and Dresden caught my attention, although Leipzig doesn't look bad either.
If you would be moving to Germany with the freedom to choose a city, which would it be and why? I think Berlin would fit my lifestyle the most as I want to get to know a lot of people, have a lot of options daily on stuff to do and basically live the metropolitan life. On the other side Dresden looks nice too and I read good things about the city...

My fiancé and I are getting married next year and we are starting to look for caterers. For those who have gone to weddings or recent had a wedding, who catered and how was it? We’re looking for something affordable, preferably nothing over 30-35 a plate. Open to any suggestions.

Currently I'm using a Dell S-Series S2719DGF but lately I have been working from home alot and gaming more often. I'm ready to add a second monitor into the fray. I'm not exactly pc savvy however and was wondering what a decent next step was monitor wise. I dont like curved monitors at all. I would prefer something 27" if possible. If we wanted to continue the advice train any thoughts on a good dual monitor mount?
