Hi! Up until recently I was able to get covered by the Fidelis Essential Plan through the NY State of Health Marketplace. I'm 27 years old in Brooklyn.
My income is now above the threshold to qualify for this (~ $30,000)
I was told that my only option is the Fidelis Bronze Plan which comes with a $4700 deductible.
This seems like a waste of money. I'm a healthy young person and the only thing I really need health insurance for is my weekly therapist sessions and occasional (1x/year or less) PCP and gynecologist visits.
My options now seem to be: 1) Go with Fidelis Bronze which means $4700 deductible + $50 copay for every therapist session, or 2) Pay out of pocket for my therapy which is $200 a session. In that case I'd probably go 1-2x/month instead of weekly which would come out to $2400-$4800 per year.
Are there any other options out there?? I looked into PPO Health Sharing options but those don't cover my therapist either and also seem risky since they're not legally obliged to cover anything.

Jolene Sound Room Brooklyn is a one-of-a-kind sound space at the new Moxy Williamsburg. The retro-themed high energy room celebrates local music culture and draws top talent from Brooklyn's thriving nightlife scene, as well as the global dance music circuit.Maybe not a "rave" as it is designed more like a lounge/club, but I've seen discussions here on a wide range of clubs/lounges/warehouses as they are all part of the (hopefully) safe dance spaces in NYC.
Phonic Technologies, the award winning sound team behind legendary New York clubs Cielo and Output, took a holistic approach to sound design. The room will be a gem for audiophiles alike.
Jolene is an intimate room with a 150 person capacity, inspired by the fierceness and feminitity of Dolly Parton. The textures and colors reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s nightclubs, and will showcase the best of disco, house, and techno, with notable names and pillars of the Brooklyn DJ scene.
Wanted to see how other people felt about the 2nd club this month in the bougie parts of the 5 boroughs.
My general thoughts having gone Friday:
- 2 unisex bathrooms for a 150-person club is gonna be rough some nights especially later on in the evening. points for safe, closed, unisex though.
- sound system is genuinely impressive and balanced, was not too bloated until one DJ just cranked the bass for the run-of-the-mill tech house
- tasteful design/colors, lightbulb strips are a nice change of pace from stereotypical LEDs.
- no pre-mixes for some of the more exotic cocktails, and the cramped bar, led to some waiting that was not unreasonable but given the smaller 1-room space, leads to some cramped standing around.
- the crowd skewed towards a ~25 y/o, cheugy Williamsburg / Manhattan types, standing around in white T's and black halteclub dresses.
- and speaking of the crowd, soooooo many people standing around in the middle of the dancefloor checking their phones.
- Music started very 70s/80s disco/soul/hip-hop (one Aaliyah rework was nice), 2nd DJ by midnight was just playing remixes of the new Beyonce album and your big out-of-the-box business tech house/techno

My March 2023 list was a larger success than I anticipated! I’m not stopping yet and looked for different events to attend throughout NYC for every day in April.
I try to seriously limit major venues like Radio City Music Hall or Barclays Center due to both their cost and how easy they are to find already. But this month I discovered that 1) Ana Gabriel was stopping in Brooklyn for a world tour, and 2) I had no clue who Ana Gabriel was. On a whim, I put her on shuffle on Spotify. So now my April splurge will be attending the world tour for a Mexican pop sensation who rose to fame in the 90s. My Spanish may be terrible, but “Simplemente Amigos” SLAPS.
That said, it did feel a little wrong to pick an event on 4/20 less, uh, apt to the date. So for those looking to turn that day into a haze, here are a few greener options:
Also, if I may use this platform for a month-long recommendation... Dancin’ is unlike anything I've seen on Broadway. There are performances every day except Mondays. It's not a perfect show, but it feels downright criminal how easily I've been able to get $40 Rush tickets hours after they've gone on sale. My lists always include a few dance shows, and Dancin’ is like the MOADS.
Thank you to those of you who provided feedback last time. One piece of feedback that I took to heart is that I hadn’t thought about how many of this subreddit’s users are tourists planning a trip, so I posted earlier this time. While many of these are events I would go to—and a few of them I do!—I try to think bigger than my individual interests and showcase the full range of what this city has to offer.

So I’m opening a shop and had some samples made from SwiftPOD. For a couple reasons I decided I’d rather go with a different printer but the samples were already ordered and I still wanted to see them so no biggie.
A week went by and they arrived, once again no problem.
The weird part is the return label on the package is 1322 Bushwick Ave Brooklyn NY 11207.
I don’t live in Brooklyn nor is my store’s address listed in Brooklyn.
What’s more when I searched the address it’s a normal house and there are other people from a year ago having issues with reviving merchandise from this address.
Any advice on what this all means would be appreciated.

I just recieved a white plastic bag in the mail with a label that read: USPS First Class PKG. It was sent from "Shipper Center" 915 Roadway Ave. Louisville KY 40208.it It was addressed to my first and last name and had a tracking number. The tracking info revealed that the label was created March 6th in Brooklyn NY, it was then picked up by Shipping Partner "Ding Hong", sent to Louisville, KY, Phillipsburg, NJ, white plains, NY, Mt. Vernon, NY, White Plains again, and then to my home. It contained 3 haphazard square cutouts of cardboard from an Amazon box, nothing else. I did not recently order anything and was not expecting a package.
