Welcome to the community of anti zoophilia, I'm trying to spread awareness of zoophilia and how serious it is. Feel free to post content on this topic that you find on social media(tiktok, youtube, instagram, snapchat, reddit, etc.). The main goal of this subreddit is to cancel as many zoophilles as possible(yes that includes stealing their ip, but ddosing is forbidden).

2023.03.29 00:51 JMC01tflyingscotsman Microsoft reviving Windows Core OS (Windows 10X) for late 2024 release. Could this end up on Duo 3

The lead story on Windows Central today:
Microsoft have actively been working on a successor to Core OS, with the intention of creating a version of Windows that's lighter, modular and more directly competes with Android and iOS.
For all intents and purposes, they're back to working on Windows 10X, although by the time it launches, it'll be a Windows 12 version.
As I'm sure we all remember, Windows 10X was supposed to be the OS for the Neo, before it got cancelled.
What I find interesting is the proposed launch period: Late 2024, which coincides with the launch period for the Duo 3.
Obviously, this is pure speculation, but the stars align... Microsoft launches a brand new version of Windows...Its light, modular, has Android and Web app compatibility, and puts Bing Chat front and centre.
Cool, but obviously this version of Windows needs a couple of different form factors to run on, to show off its capabilities, say, for example, a folding single screen device, and maybe a larger dual screen device. But wait, I'm pretty sure we've seen devices like that before....
The big question here is, if Microsoft do launch a Duo with some Core OS version of Windows, does anyone bother with it?
For a start, they'd have to have completely nailed down and resolved the app gap, and not just through emulation or access to some spotty android store. They'd have to really, truly solve the app gap, or it's completely pointless.
Next up, they'd have to give people a hell of a compelling reason to put windows in their pocket, even if the OS and the device was super cool. Windows phone 7 was super cool, and it hardly moved the dial in terms of user market share.
Bottom line, I'd probably buy it because I've been on this whole windows on a phone journey for over 15 years, and I don't give a crap about tiktok, Snapchat or Instagram. But, I'm in the minority.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what Microsoft plans to do with this new version of Core OS.

2023.03.28 20:39 rasbperr1 Do you think he cares about me?

I'm Korean woman(32, F), dating a man(20, M) who is working in U.S army.
I got to know him at Dating app(Bumble) and we have been talking for for a few months.
Our first dating is in the early of January, and we lived far away in different cities in Korea, so we slept over together at hotel at first date, and we did kiss or things, but we didn't have sex because I'm inexperienced but he understood me and though I didn't expect it, and he did so sweet to me, like kissing on my forehead and holding my hands, which is one of the reasons I felt comfortable with him. The next day, we parted away and I thought he would not wanna meet me again because I didn't have sex and I'm not that interested in him at first time.
After that, he sometimes sent messages to me, and after a few weeks later, he said me he likes me and wanted to hang out again but he couldn't have relationship with me since he had to leave Korea later, and he doesn't think LDR is work out. since then, we had been sharing our daily lives via Snapchat everyday and he seemed to care about me, but we couldn't hang out until March since our fist date in January because he had been busy for work and he went back to America for holidays almost for a month.
Finally, we met in the end of March, recently, and we promised to meet at a train station around 5:30 pm. I went to a new city for the first time in my life, and so I got lost in the train station, I became late for a date and met him at 6 pm. I felt sorry for him for being late.
Our date plan is to take an air balloon flight at first day, and to go to an amusement park next day, but I had to cancel air balloon flight because of inclement weather.
Originally, we planned to go to a nice restaurant, which takes a few days for me to find out information about restaurants, but he said he ate dinner already, which I felt embarrassing. At first time, I thought he ate dinner earlier, waiting for me but I found out that he ate dinner at 5pm, even though we were supposed to meet at 5:30pm. I asked him why you ate eat dinner before I'm arriving and he said that he ate dinner because he felt so hungry.
Anyways, since I became late, I could understand him about that. He said if I wanna go to restaurant, he can go with me, but he didn't wanna eat anything. since I don't wanna eat alone at a nice restaurant, and he promised me to go to restaurants tomorrow morning and lunch, we went to hotel right away. As soon as we arrived at a hotel, he tried to have sex with me though I wanted to watch a movie and talk with him and doing it later.
Actually, in the past, he asked me If I'm really virgin and I said yes. He asked me if I have any experience of masturbation, and I said I have never been masturbated myself since I don't think it's hygienic to my vagina.
At first date, he dine out at a nice restaurant, and after arriving hotel, we watched movie and saw tiktok together, and he didn't try to sex as soon as possible but this time was different, but this time, he put his hand in my inner wear right away, and tried to take off my pants, which I felt comfortable. When he touched my lower body, touching near my vagina, I felt more likely painful than feeling good though he tried to do it gently and go slower. Though he is quite experienced, he seemed to not find my vagina since it's my first time. Though I said I would have sex with him, I felt insecure and not ready, so I couldn't have sex with him(PIV sex) though I helped him to ejaculate by hand.
Before a date, he asked if I would ever shave down, and I heard shaving down is socially norm in his country, so I did Brazilian waxing for hygiene and it felt so painful, and I tried to make an effort to have sex with him this time. But he seemed to not feel good about it, and said If I would not have sex with him, we don't need to come hotel and rather go to an amusement park right away, Actually, I'm afraid that he would not go to an amusement park if I didn't agree to have sex, and I just like to be with him. unlike last time, when he held my hands and kissed on my forehead while sleeping, he said he felt tired and wanted to sleep since he slept 9 pm to 2 am last night. I asked him why didn't sleep last night and he said he just couldn't sleep. He asked me to turn off light at 9pm since we met at 6pm , and I had to eat dinner alone in a dark room, relying on TV light, which I didn't feel comfortable, and I wondered if he didn't go out with me, why he dated with me.
although he made a reservation the hotel, where he had been before, I didn't know this hotel has almost no privacy like there's only transparent curtain between bedroom and bathroom, and I don't feel comfortable about taking shower and using bathroom.
And things happened. When I took a shower, I found out some kinds of trouble near my groin, and I became panicked because I rarely get any skin troubles near my groin and he did oral to me, which I didn't ask to him, so I suspected it might be some kinds of std like herpes.
since I have sensitive skin, and I knew that HSV2 type has no cure, I became so insecure and woke him up in the middle of showering, and asked to him about his past history of sex. He said he had sex 20 times in his life with 5 partners and he had never experienced any outbreak in his life. I showed him my body and he said it's not big deal and it might be just skin irritating. After that, I googled and looked that part under the bright light on bed, and he asked me if I'm ok.
I know it could be not considerate for him about asking std and If I would so worried a lot, them I would not have any sexual intimacy with him. Though I didn't ask him oral to me, but somehow it happened and I was so confused at that time.
Anyways, he fell asleep again, but I didn't wanna spend that night just sleeping without watching movies or talking, and I tried to wake him up like lying on his body or touched his body, and played some planks on him. I admitted that I behaved like a child who wanted to get attention, and he said he just wanna sleep.
And I tried to sleep, but his phone had been kept alarming from Snapchat in the middle of night, and I felt weird and checked his phone. Though I didn't know his passwords, I could see Snapchat notifications in the screen and I found out those messages were from a variety of girls, at least 5 girls.
Though I assume that he might be talking with other girls, I didn't expect as much and I lose my control. At first time, I tried to ask him calmly why they are, but it felt like he ignored my word intentionally, and all this situation seems like he didn't respect me. Finally, I loud my voice to him and firmly said I'm so uncomfortable about it and asked him to explain who they are. he said they are just friends like that in America, and the reason he kept sending messages to me is due to time difference.
And when I asked him if he is using other dating apps, he said yes, and he is different from what I expected. Before that night, I had never asked him about other girls, since I believed what he said that he likes me.
in the next morning around 7 am, he woke up and said to me that he didn't feel good about last night. He felt like I woke him up at least 10 times, and I cried a few times and he said he didn't understand me and he felt like it's crazy. He said he is not in the mood of going to an amusement park today, and just wanted to leave after eating breakfast. I apologized him about it and said I felt so insecure and unstable yesterday since he didn't eat out with me, do nothing with me, and just kept sleeping from 9 am. But he seemed to be cold. I asked him if he doesn't like me anymore, and he said he doesn't like me as much. I asked him if he doesn't wanna hang out with me anymore, and he said he wanna go to amusement park with me maybe another time, but he is not in the mood of going there today. And he left hotel.
But after 10 minutes he left, I heard that someone knocking on the door hardly, and it's him. He said the reason he came back to hotel is he couldn't get a taxi, so he had to wait a bus. it seems like he didn't take a public transportation easily, so I decided to go to train station together with him. But I'm not sure how he felt about me. Because he hold my hands while going to the train station. And we went to a cafe, and he didn't say anything, just eating quickly and left, leaving me alone at a cafe.
I felt regret about last night, losing cool and waking him up a lot, and even though I felt uncomfortable about him, I should have asked him early in the next morning or just don't hang out with him next time, but I became emotional and I couldn't control my feelings since I became liked him for over time. I just wanna go to an amusement park with him and have a good time.
But I got hurts a lot from him since he seemed to not care about me at all unlike first date.
Actually, I got a skin disease after meeting him on first date since he kept smoking before me and touched my body without cleaning hands, and I had to get treatments in a hospital for a few months to be healed, but I didn't tell him about him since he didn't meant to it. And before he leaving me, I talked about him that I was sick but he just saw me with a blank look, and reacted like it's none of his business. he just said 'so what? you got cured right now and that's all'.
After he went to his place, he sent me messages that he arrived, and since then, we haven't talked so far.
Although he said he likes me, I'm not sure.

2023.03.28 04:47 Loganrrrrr Is the banning of TikTok related to Meta wanting to control the “Metaverse”

Note: this was written and sent in a gc with 3 other people who don’t really love VR as much as me so there is a lot of expectation and the text is slightly altered but other than that it’s copy and pasted.
Is October of 2021 Meta canceled Oculus connect and only held Facebook connect in which they announced the name change to Meta creating the new Meta connect. Meta changed their name to turn the company towards the “Metaverse” Meta has been buying up game development companies left and right and they didn’t even make Oculus they bought that too. Pico another China based vr headset company made a headset called the Pico Neo 3 which was relatively close to the quest 2. A year later they made the Pico 4 which was better the quest 2 on paper but didn’t have as many games due to Meta buying them all up. But the Pico 4 never came to America. There was rumors Pico was planing to release the Pico 4 into the US at the upcoming event. But delayed it due to problems with TikTok. Why because Pico and TikTok are both owned by ByteDance. Well technically ByteDance doesn’t own “TikTok” but rather is China counterpart want is still entangled with the company. Now there is already a ton of people that think Meta is behind TikTok’s soon to be banning. The banning may not even be about TikTok, Meta might just not want Pico to come to the US. TikTok would give Pico the ability to successfully launch and Market to the US. Without TikTok the Pico 4 won’t do nearly as good. So does Meta not like TikTok or do they want to be the only ones controlling the Metaverse, completely going against what they said they would do at Facebook connect 2021.
I guess I’m a conspiracy theorist now lol but honestly with as fucked as a company as Meta is, is it that hard to believe?

2023.03.28 03:14 adventurepaul What's new in e-commerce? - Week of Mar 27th, 2023

Hi ShopifyeCommerce - I'm Paul and I follow the e-commerce industry closely for my Shopifreaks E-commerce Newsletter. Each week I post a summary recap of this week's top stories, which I cover in depth in the newsletter. .
  1. STAT OF THE WEEK: The percentage of online BNPL transactions involving groceries grew 40% during the first two months of 2023. – According to Adobe Analytics .
  2. Pinterest is bringing more to the e-commerce table with the integration of shopping capabilities into its Shuffles collage-making app -- identical to those found on regular pins. Shuffles launched to the public last November, allowing users to create aesthetic collages set to music, which they could share on TikTok or with friends on the app. Pinterest is also exploring a new takeover feature for advertisers called “Pinterest Premiere Spotlight” that prominently showcases a brand on search. .
  3. YouTube revealed that more than 100,000 channels on its platform are linked to external e-commerce stores. Like Pinterest, YouTube has been making bold moves into e-commerce this past year including integrating with Shopify in July 2022, expanding its access to social shopping tools in Oct 2022, and releasing new features for Shorts including affiliate marketing and the ability to tag and purchase items in Nov 2022. .
  4. It's no secret that big tech has been / is guilty of utilizing dark patterns to get what they want out of you. Amazon had to make it easier for Prime members to cancel their subscriptions last July, following complaints from consumer groups about the numerous hurdles it took to cancel the service. Epic Games was fined $520M in December in part for using dark patterns to coerce players into making unwanted in-game purchases. Block recently came under heat for making it difficult to opt-out of marketing e-mails from brands you've never shopped with before by employing dark pattern designs to bury the opt-out link. There's even a dark pattern named after Mark Zuckerberg called “Zuckering” which fools users into thinking that they need to share certain private information, even if it is not necessary to use the service. Digital Information World put together a guide showcasing the 12 different types of dark patterns which include 1) Trick Questions, 2) Sneak Into Basket, 3) Roach Motel, 4) Privacy Zucking, 5) Price Comparison Prevention, 6) Misdirection, 7) Hidden Costs, 8) Bait & Switch, 9) Confirmshaming, 10) Disguised Ads, 11) Forced Continuity, and 12) Friend Spam. .
  5. DoorDash added three new partners including Lush Cosmetics, Victoria's Secret, and Party City (which still exists). They also improved their search and discovery to make it easier to search within a retail store, released the ability to schedule ahead to more consumers, made substituting out-of-stock items easier with a built-in messaging automation, and enabled cash on delivery for restuarants using their white-label delivery solution. .
  6. The e-commerce acceleration platform MikMak released their “2023 Grocery eCommerce Benchmarks and Insights Report” which took a look at the top-performing grocery retailers. They found that YouTube has the highest purchase intent for grocery brands at 5.2% and Pinterest had the second highest at 4.2%. Walmart drives the most in-market traffic for grocery brands at 41.2% followed by Target (22.1%), Amazon (18.6%), Instacart (11.9%), and Kroger (6.1%). Grocery shoppers are most likely to buy online Thursday at 1pm EST and their top purchases include snack mix, sliced cheese, and single-serve coffees. .
  7. Instagram began testing ads in search results, which will show up in the feed that people can scroll when they tap into a post from search results. The company says that the change is just a test for now, but that it plans on launching the new placement globally in the coming months. They are also rolling out a new ad type called “Reminder Ads” which send push notifications to remind you of an upcoming event or important date — if, and only if, you opt in to receive them. For example, an ad for a season premiere of a show may include a “Remind Me” button that the user can click to receive a notification reminder one day before it airs, 15 minutes before it airs, and at the start time. .
  8. Short seller Hindenburg Research alleged that Block, under the leadership of Jack Dorsey, widely overstated its genuine user counts and understated its customer acquisition cost, and that its “Wild West” approach to compliance made it easy for bad actors to mass-create accounts for identity fraud and other scams. Hindenburg said in its report that former Block employees estimated that 40% to 75% of accounts they reviewed were fake, involved in fraud, or were multiple accounts tied to a single person. In response to the news, Block's share price dropped over 15% to $60.18 on Friday, but has since rebounded around 4% at the time of writing this newsletter. Block responded to the news by vowing to fight back, saying it would explore legal action against the short seller for its “factually inaccurate and misleading report” that was “designed to deceive and confuse investors”. .
  9. Walmart laid off hundreds of workers at e-commerce facilities in Pedricktown NJ, Fort Worth TX, Chino CA, Davenport FL, and Bethlehem PA. Walmart did not comment on whether it is downsizing its fulfillment center capacity because it plans to fulfill more orders from stores or because it anticipates fewer online orders from customers. .
  10. Packsize unveiled a new machine designed to build on-demand, perfect-sized boxes exclusively for Walmart to help ship faster, produce less waste, and create a better unboxing experience for customers. The Ultra5 can produce up to 600 boxes/hour, negates the need for filler like plastic air pillows, and allows retailers to fit up to 33% more boxes in freight and delivery carriers. .
  11. Amazon shot down a petition signed by 30,000 workers begging CEO Andy Jassy to cancel his return-to-office plan. In the petition, Amazon workers argued that they are more productive and enjoy a better work-life balance in a remote work environment. .
  12. Adobe introduced a new cloud service called Adobe Product Analytics that helps companies find opportunities to improve their applications and websites. At the annual Adobe Summit conference, the company also debuted several other new offerings including a suite of generative AI models called Firefly which enables customers to generate images and stylized fonts based on text prompts. .
  13. Did you see the TikTok video of the Amazon driver in Cary NC who delivered a package during a police standoff with an armed hostage-taker? He even took a picture of the package to confirm its delivery before heading back out on his route! .
  14. Klarna announced its integration with ChatGPT to roll out a personalized shopping experience that provides product recommendations when users ask for shopping advice, inspiration, and product links via their search and compare tool. Users can ask things like, “I have $150, which headphones can I afford?” and receive a selection of items relevant to that request. .
  15. Google suspended the Pinduoduo app after malware was found in versions of the software which exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Android. E-commerce expert Liu Huafang posted on Weibo that Pinduoduo’s app was using security vulnerabilities to gain market share by stealing user data from its competitors. .
  16. Employers in the EU will be to soon be legally obligated to publish the salary ranges of jobs in their listing descriptions as part of efforts to reduce the gender pay gap. Roderic O’Gorman, the Minister for Children and Equality, confirmed that he intends to implement the pay transparency rules within the EU’s three-year deadline. .
  17. Levi Strauss & Co. announced a new partnership with LaLaLand.ai to supplement human models later this year with AI-generated models. Lalaland utilizes AI to enable fashion brands to use realistic models of every body type, age, size, and skin tone to create a more “inclusive, personal, and sustainable shopping experience.” .
  18. Automattic announced the discovery and patch of a critical vulnerability in the WooCommerce Payments plugin that allows for a full-site takeover by unauthenticated attackers. The vulnerability was discovered on March 22, 2023 by a third party security researcher and affects more than 500k WordPress installs. .
  19. Unzer, a Germany-based payment processor, launched a new BNPL product called upaylater, where it is integrating invoice and installment payment methods and direct debit into its product portfolio via a single interface. Meanwhile another Germany-based firm, Mondu, is opening an office in London after seeing growing demand from U.K. businesses for its B2B BNPL service. .
  20. JFK8, the first Amazon warehouse to successfully vote to form a union last year, has yet to secure a contract or get Amazon to the bargaining table, blaming internal disagreements between union president Christian Smalls and some of the union's legacy organizers. Insiders accuse Smalls of failing to devote enough time to JFK8 efforts because he has been busy traveling to other Amazon warehouses, making public appearances at labor protests, and speaking at events. .
  21. YouTube is shutting down its live social commerce app, Simsim, less than two years after acquiring the Indian startup for around $70M. A spokesperson said Thursday that the company will be “working with creators to introduce more monetization opportunities for creators through an affiliate program and more shopping features across long-form videos, Shorts and livestreams on YouTube in 2023.” .
  22. In May, Amazon will launch test versions of their Kuiper satellites to take on SpaceX's Starlink. Amazon recently revealed that it had essentially bought all the spare rocket launch capacity in the world to rival SpaceX, and plans to launch a total of 3,236 satellites by 2029. .
  23. Zumi, a B2B e-commerce startup, is shutting down and laid off its team of 150 people, after failing to raise the funding necessary to sustain its operations. The company was on a mission to revolutionize Africa's $36B apparel market, but will now have to bow out of the scene to competitors like MarketForce and Sabi. .
  24. Australia Post is unveiling a changing room concept for customers to try on their online purchases before deciding to keep items or return them. The new concept will be installed at the Australia Post office in Orange, NSW in July, where the post office will also allocate space to local retailers to showcase their products. .
  25. Rewind, a backup and recovery platform for Shopify, BigCommerce, and other e-commerce platforms, laid off about 27% of its staff, or around 37 employees, after seeing lower-than-anticipated growth. (Those Reddit ads not working as well as they had hoped? Mine neither.) The company announced a $19M CAD Series A round in January 2021, acquired BackHub a month later, and then had an $83M Series B round in September that same year, but now says that their growth has slowed inline with Shopify's slowed growth. .

2023.03.28 03:11 adventurepaul E-commerce Industry News - Week of March 27th, 2023

Hi ecommerce - I'm Paul and I follow the e-commerce industry pretty closely for my Shopifreaks E-commerce Newsletter.
Mine neither.) The company announced a $19M CAD Series A round in January 2021, acquired BackHub a month later, and then had an $83M Series B round in September that same year, but now says that their growth has slowed inline with Shopify's slowed growth. .
  26. Amazon is shutting down DPReview, a 25-year-old photography community website that it purchased in 2007. The website's millions of articles will not be kept by Amazon, but should be available on the Internet Archive. The site will be locked with no further updates after April 10th. .
  27. Panera is partnering with Amazon One to use its palm swipe technology for buying food and earning rewards for its loyalty program. The partnership will allow MyPanera members to leave their cash, cards, and mobile devices at home and simply swipe their palm to pay for their meals with saved payment info. .
  28. Peloton owners in Australia who paid in installments with Affirm will get to keep their equipment but no longer have to pay after Affirm ceases operations in the country. Peloton was Affirm's only business partner in Australia, and a spokesperson said that forgiving the loans would have a nominal impact on the business. .
  29. Meta announced a new WhatsApp desktop application for Windows that will enable end-to-end encrypted group video calls with up to 8 people and calls with up to 32 people. They also claim that the app offers faster device linking and better syncing across devices, as well as new features such as link previews and stickers. .
  30. Plus 7 seed rounds, IPOs, and acquisitions of interest including Kream's $168M Series C .
I hope you find this news recap helpful. See you next week!

2023.03.27 17:58 CinnamonWeasley Kpop fans on TikTok give me the ick

Ok so hear me out...
This is in specific situations.
I am clearly also a fan but certain kinds of fans are really starting to appear more and more on my feed and it really annoys me. So here's a rundown of the kind of fans that give the ick. I feel this is probably going to be unpopular just because of how often I see this kind of content and it feels like I'm in the minority here.
  1. People that post videos of waiting outside hotels of idols to catch a 3 second glimpse of them and then being like "omg this altered my brain chemistry". I mean I hope it did because this is just low level stalking and it needs to stop. When idols stay at hotels, it's their "home" away from home. It should be a safe space for them. Would you wait outside their house for them? If so, please do not. And if no, then don't do it outside a hotel. Imagine being in another country, away from home and there is literally nowhere for you to be left alone because your hotel gets leaked and then you can't step outside without being surrounded by fans and cameras. They are human too, give them a break. Going to events like e.g. Namjoon at Milan fashion week, yeah that's fine to wait at the show, as it a scheduled event but waiting outside his hotel? No, leave him alone. This kind of behaviour is why he's deleting his namjooning feeds. Stop chasing the Y/N moments please.
  2. "Pick me girls" are appearing everywhere and I just can't with it. By this I mean, girls that have whole accounts dedicated to making content around an idol like their mine ok vibes, or like "I'm only into you if you are insert idol name here". The girls that do this are clearly pretty girls and girls that are proving the crazy to hot ratio right. Before you say I'm just jealous, I'm not. I'd say I'm not bad looking and could definitely give some of these girls some competition in looks (I'm not saying this to be a narcissist, I'm saying it to stop the you're just jealous comments). It's not about that. It's about making obsessive "pick me" content that spams up my feed. No idol is going to see this and be like, you post videos of you calling me your husband when you don't know me and have a whole feed dedicated to it? Ok cool, can I get your number? Like bro, seriously this is real life not Wattpad. Maybe I'm old and don't get it (I'm 26 and most of these people are like 18-21). Then people in the comments encourage it, like "insert idol name would sooo be into you." Please don't encourage this.
  3. Fans telling idols what to do in their own lives. For example, we have been blessed with plenty of Jungkook live streams lately and the man is staying up till 3am and drinking regularly. He is an adult. Stop telling him to go to bed. He isn't committing any crimes except stealing our hearts. As someone who is also a 97 liner, it annoys me so much to see those comments and you can tell he's starting to get a bit irritated by it. He is giving us free entertainment that he is under no obligation to do, he just does it because he wants to and people have to bring the vibe down by telling a grown ass man to go to bed. Please stop or he will stop doing the livestreams and its quality content. And most of the people saying this are younger, imagine telling a grown man to go to bed and you're like 17. Please stop. You can be concerned about him but he's an adult and he's got people looking out for him always, he doesn't need the backseating.
  4. This one is kind of spicy but I'm going to say it. Western fans that project western standards around subjects that are taboo in Korea onto idols. My main example is drugs, specifically weed. I'm not going to lie, drugs make me uncomfortable and I know that is part the reason that bothers me. BUT, western fans need to understand Korea. It is so illegal in Korea to do any drugs, to the point where if a Korean smokes weed in another country where its legal, they can still get in serious trouble. I'm not here to argue Korean laws. What I am saying is when people are saying things about idols like "I want a smoke sesh with him/her" or "bro is deffo high" I find it so disrespectful because you kind of accusing them of something that is a literal crime in Korea and would get in serious trouble for. Idols train for years and their career is their life and yet western people seem to think that idols are very willing to throw that all away to get high sometimes. I just think its disrespectful.
  5. People who make the "things sasaeng fans have reported about idols" videos. I feel engaging with this kind of content encourages this kind of rumour behaviour and we shouldn't give it the time of day. There is literally no evidence for 90% of these so called "confirmed" theories and it's just mentally exhausting and as soon as I see it on my feed, I'm swiping away and we all should do it so this rumour mill behaviour stops.
I enjoy being on TikTok as a Kpop fan because there's lots of funny content and memes, as well as just finding people you relate and just have a wholesome community. But then there's this stuff that gives the ick and I was wondering if anyone else agrees?
If I get cancelled, it is what it is.

2023.03.27 17:00 Tokyono [Goldfish Swallowing] “The scales…caught a bit on my throat as it went down.” The history of people swallowing small defenceless fish for fun.

CW for animal cruelty. I don’t go into too much detail, but people do swallow live fish and most of them don’t survive. In some of the linked news articles, there are some icky descriptions and pictures.
I am back with another overview of another weird hobby!
There have been many fads over the years. In the 1920s, there was pole sitting. The 1950s had phonebooth stuffing. The 1970s had streaking. The 2010s had people eating tidepods.
The 1930s had goldfish swallowing.
Origins
The exact origins of goldfish swallowing are unknown. There are various competing stories. However, as early as 1889, goldfish were being swallowed in drunken bets. By the late 1920s it was the “latest Hollywood sport”. However, the fad really took off in the spring of 1939, when it briefly engulfed the American academic world.
One of the earliest fish swallowers was Lothrop Withington, Jr, a student at Harvard. He bet his friends $10 that he could swallow a live goldfish whole. This outrageous wager quickly gained the attention of the press. Lothrop allegedly prepared extensively for the event, practicing with smaller fish to prepare his throat.
On March 3rd 1939, in front of a crowd of reporters and fellow students, Lothrop swallowed a four inch goldfish whole. He later said: “The scales…caught a bit on my throat as it went down.” His story was even covered by LIFE magazine.
His stunt provoked a flurry of letters to the Boston Globe. Some praised him, others condemned him. As one snarky letter put it: "I think it is wonderful the advantages boys have who go to Harvard with its background of 300 years of educational preeminence. Those of us who for financial reasons have to send our children to Wesleyan or Bowdoin just can't hope to give them an opportunity to learn how to swallow live goldfish.". Bizarrely, one letter to the New Yorker thought that it was a protest against capitalism.
Lothrop inspired other students to take up goldfish swallowing and set records. In March, the record was 25 fish, but it quickly rose to 42. In April, a veterinary student in Massachusetts swallowed 67 fish in 14 minutes. This was quickly followed by a record of 89 (I have doubts about this one!). Then it rose to all-time-high record of 101 (I also have doubts about this one!). The fad inspired a dance, “The Goldfish”, and even more snarky letters. Here is a particularly snarky letter written by a student from MIT.
Even women got it on the craze. Marie Henson, a student at the University of Henson, was the first woman to swallow a goldfish as part of the fad.
In April, the Intercollegiate Goldfish Gulping Association (IGGA) was formed in an attempt to regulate the “sport”. There were only two rules: each goldfish had to be 3 inches long and participants had to keep the fish down for at least 12 hours after swallowing them.
Of course, doctors had concerns about the health risks of swallowing fish. “Dr. Edwin E. Ziegler, pathologist of the U. S. Public Health Service, reported that goldfish might contain tapeworms which, lodging in the intestinal tract, would give swallowers anemia”. Despite this stark warning, no one was deterred.
There was also great moral opposition to the fad, mainly from supporters of animal rights and politicians. A counter group to the IGGA, the Society for the Prevention of Goldfish Eating, was formed. Several goldfish swallowing events were cancelled, after activists complained or threatened to sue universities. Then state senator of Massachusetts, George Krapf filed a bill "to preserve the fish from cruel and wanton consumption”.
Don’t worry. The snarky letters continued. A letter to the New York Times: “I am a believer in education—even in higher education for those worthy of it, but I have always maintained that a large percentage of those attending our colleges should never have been admitted. Some evidence of the truth of this is evident in the present epidemic of live goldfish swallowing in some colleges. Although fish, as a food, has had the reputation of being an exceptional brain builder, I understand that this reputation has been proved false.”
Goldfish swallowing also inspired a number of spin-off fads. From a newspaper in 1952:
Then for love of diversity or lack of goldfish, the fads began to change. A University of Illinois freshman, John Poppelreiter, swallowed five white mice. An Gregon State student preferred 139 angleworms, while at Lafayette College, an eager undergraduate ate an issue of "New Yorker," advertisements and all.
Back at Harvard, the extracurricular diet included phonograph records much to the glee of Briggs & Briggs, and the fad-happy Harvardmen followed this phase by kissing marathons. Debutante teas were raided, and one sophomore kissed 26 Wellesley girls in five minutes Cliffedwellers remained in Widener.
Another College student, enraptured by what he called "these cod-damned fads, kissed 133 fish, "effectively combining the two in one grand gesture." In a speeck that April, President Conant said. "I think the oldtime stunts, such as putting a cow in the chapel steeple and taking the president's buggy apart, were much more fun."
A major event in 1939 was the start of World War Two. American newspapers were full of news about the Germans invading Europe …except some of them thought goldfish swallowing was just as important. As the San Francisco examiner reported on the 1st of January 1940: “Hitler, goldfish gulping, mark mad era”. Yes, that is a real headline.
But fads are fads. After two months of intense fish swallowing, people lost interest…until the era of the internet.
Resurgence
In season 1 episode 2 of the popular reality tv show “Jackass”, which aired on October 8, 2000, Steve-O swallows and then regurgitates a goldfish. The episode was watched by 2.4 million people. It seems to have inspired a number of copycat stunts over the years, the most infamous being an incident in The Netherlands in 2016, in which a man had to be rushed to hospital after attempting to swallow a catfish.
Swallowing goldfish quickly became a reoccurring viral fad. In particular, the “Neknomination Challenge” in which participants film themselves downing a pint of commercial alcohol in one go and then upload the footage to the internet, has inspired a lot of goldfish gulping.
In 2014, a British man was fined £200 after swallowing two goldfish and regurgitating them as part of the challenge. Thankfully, the fish survived and were adopted by his grandmother. But there were so many incidents of people swallowing goldfish that the RSPCA issued a formal warning that they were breaking the law and could be prosecuted if caught.
In 2015, in separate incidents, two other British men (seriously, what is up with the UK?) were arrested for swallowing goldfish and posting the videos to Facebook. They were both harshly criticised by the RCPSA: “Eating a live animal and posting a video of it online for entertainment is not some light-hearted joke – it is unacceptable”. In 2017, two more British people were charged with swallowing goldfish as part of the Neknomination challenge. Another man was fined in 2019.
Swallowing fish is also a popular hazing ritual in many American universities and colleges. Several fraternities and sports teams have been sued because of it.
One college in Maine, Colby College, has a yearly tradition of swallowing goldfish during St Patrick’s day celebrations. Employees at pet stores routinely try to avoid selling goldfish to students around this time. Even some high schools have goldfish swallowing traditions, such as this school in Ohio. In 2014, PETA found out and tried to get it banned, but they were unsuccessful. It was still going on as of 2018.
Today all you have to do is search “goldfish swallowing” on Tiktok to find many dumb teens partaking in the fad, hoping for their 15 minutes of fame.
Thanks for reading!

2023.03.26 15:43 Halloweentwin2 Need help with Kyoto portion of Japan itinerary! Itinerary slides attached

Hi all,
My questions are getting a better idea of good plan for Kyoto section as I can’t seem to group things ideally.
Original plan was: Kyoto option 1
Potential alternative?
kyoto option 2 slides
For either option: 4/21- plan to go to Osaka in the evening. Trying to figure out morning plans, was between trying Kurama Kibune hike for morning/afternoon and then head to Osaka vs going to Nara en route to Osaka. If we did either of these, would need to use a luggage storage option at Kyoto station or Nara station because we check out of Hotel Kyoto Alza by 11 am. Are either of these options more feasible timing wise when traveling to Osaka? Having hard time figuring this out.
Notes about plan:
Questions:
Thanks!

2023.03.25 01:39 Current-Bit-4379 Repeat ghost, almost two months later I'm still confused and hurt.

Long story short this was a repeat ghosting. I 23M met this girl 21F thru my best friends GF. The first time she ghosted me was way back in October after our first date. A month went by and I sent a casual hail mary text. To my surprise, she responded and quickly engaged with me again. She apologized for the ghosting and told me she felt terrible about it. During this time she was showing super high interest, double texting me all the time, it almost felt like I was getting chased. She also asked me out on both of the dates we had during this time. She was so easy to be around in person, and the connection felt so great. I could tell that when we were together she was genuinely into me, it was clear as day. However, after our 3rd and last date she started getting flaky.
This lead to a convo in which I told her I liked her a lot but was feeling lead on due to her happily setting up dates but then flaking. She told me she really liked me too. But that she couldn't be in a serious relationship with anyone because she has personal issues she has to sort out. I told her that was fine, because I wasn't ready for a relationship either and truthfully it was still casual (We hadn't even had sex, only slept together). I told her there was no rush and that a relationship was something I was open to in the future if we were both ready. She appreciated me clearing things up and we kept talking. After we had this convo she seemed more flirty than usual, and It seemed like things were moving forward. However, a few weeks later she cancelled on a date we had planned the night before and left me on read for a week. I then asked her out on valentines despite being left on read, and she never replied to that either.
The last thing she ever texted me was that she was "so excited to come to see me". It's been 7 weeks since that message. I unfollowed her on socials, but she's still following me on everything. She's been watching my stories and tiktok's and liking them in the past few weeks. She still has all of our spotify playlists saved. I'm so confused because I know I'm not delusional. I know this girl liked me. I feel like a hypocrite because I told her there was no rush and proceeded to rush, and I think me pushing too hard scared her away. I think she took the easy route of ghosting because she couldn't muster the courage to say whatever she was feeling.
Whatever it was, it's still not an excuse for her ghosting me. I miss her a lot. It feels like I can feel her missing me too, but I don't think she has the courage to reach out in fear of me rejecting her now. I know I cannot disrespect myself by reaching out again, but I think if I don't I may never talk to her again. It seems like her interacting with me on socials is her trying to get me to reach out. I'll be seeing the mutual who set us up a lot this summer as I'll be living with her BF, so I don't know how that's gonna play out. This is all just so confusing and it hurts. I just want to hear from her again.
