Hi!!
My name is Helen and I am building a body skincare brand that will help with dry skin and hyperpigmentation. I'm from Seoul Korea and have grown up with skincare since elementary school.. applying toners and serums in 5th grade :)
I grew up with my mom who has a rare case of atopic dermatitis and have used her various products to treat her body skin- which most of the time feels extremely clinical and just not enjoyable to use. She had the most luxurious skincare products that I would steal but body care was just not the same..
My mom would exfoliate her severely dry skin at least 2 times a week so that she can feel comfortable in her skin... Few years ago she got diagnosed with lung cancer... and last year a new tumor formed where she had to get surgery- this was a life or death situation. She had to go to the hospital at 8am BUT she woke up at 4am to spend 2.5 hours in the shower to exfoliate as she was embarrassed to show her skin during surgery... the fact that that was on top of her mind was really painful and heartbreaking to see...
Therefore I decided to create my own body skincare line that would help my mom and others love their body skin. So that you can take care of your skin concerns like dry skin, hyperpigmentation as a beauty ritual. Also as I'm getting older, in my mid 30s, my body skin is getting drier and parts of my body have discoloration either from acne marks or dry skin!
And to that point I would love your thought and feedback..! To make this body skincare line feel like a luxurious beauty experience I've been really thinking about the texture and the scent. I really want this product to feel like a sensorial beauty ritual but have the efficacy! I personally love body products that smell like a perfume as it makes the shower experience sensorial (think BYREDO body products)... however usually they cost $$$ and don't have much efficacy. I've also been taking a poll and it seems a lot of people prefer no fragrance as there are some articles that perfume/fragrance is carcinogenic (?). How do you feel about perfume scented body wash products? If perfumes are carcinogenic does that mean you don't buy perfumes too? My mom's oncologist didn't give us this warning...
What scent should I make this body (exfoliating) gel wash?

I feel like I have no one to talk to about this. I don't like to burden my friends and family with my issues, but I need advice/an outsiders perspective.
I have been with my gf for 2 years. There have been good times.. but there have been some really really bad ones too.
I am a very positive person, I love to have a good time and make people laugh. I hang out with my friends every chance I get. I wouldn't say I'm the life of the party, but I enjoy company. my girlfriend however.. is the exact opposite. She is a home body and does not like to spend time with anyone but me. It's a little smothering. I have asked her to go out with friends so often so that I can have some time to myself. She refuses. She follows me around from room to room constantly wanting hugs. My friends notice this and rag on me pretty for it. Which is fine, I can take that. But if I ever want to go out with my friends, there's always a fight before or after.
"Why didn't spend the evening with me?"
"If you have time for them, you have time for me!"
And then there's our communication.. it's absolutely awful. She gets so riled up and just spirals out of control. I've always been a patient person, but boy does she test it. I have noticed patience has diminished in all aspects ofy life over the last year and a half
I have a good career that I worked very hard for. And our relationship has affected that too. I'm less motivated and constantly tired. If she's upset, she will not let me sleep. She will badger me to have a conversation, even if I have to be at work 2 hours from then.
I have tired to reason with her and tried to be patient. But nothing has changed. We have the same arguments every couple days/weeks. I feel so worn thin and am hanging on by a thread.
Now for the tricky part.. we relocated together and have no family here. I am the bread winner and basically support us both financially. Which is another stressor.
I fear that if we were living at home that I would have been done a long time ago. I think I'm hanging on because she moved with me and left all her family and friends.
I completely respect her for it and understand that it isn't easy to move like that, especially for my job. But I also moved, I also left my family. And she doesn't seem to understand that.
I don't really know what I expect from this, but just typing it out feels good. I guess I just would like to know anyone's opinion. Am I overreacting? Am I out of line for feeling this way?
I'm open to discussion

Hey guys, I did two years at an out of state huge party school, where I at the end of those 2 years, Had a 1.9, and only 37 credits. I decided to Transfer to a local CC at home and get my shit together. I am doing well. Just finished a 18 credit fall semester with a 3.00 all classes in my major (finance). I am going to do another 18 credit semester and then transfer. If I do well I will have a 3.5 with 60 credits. What type of schools can I apply to. I want a school in the state I would live in post college (Florida, NY) My father wants me to try to get in UF, or University of Miami, USF, NYU, Fordham. But even with a good year at community college, I do not know how much my first two years failing out at a big party school is gonna impact my admissions at a great school like those listed above. What do you guys think? Can I get into those types of schools, will my 1 good year at CC make up for a bad past? What can I do to get into schools like Miami and NYU? Covid also had a big affect me during that time. I have good high schools grades, not only did I do well at community but I took a job in sales, and got real professional work experience, I am also a first generation college minority student. What do you think do I have a shot?

Anyone else have issues with RovyVon being curt or rude in a communications? I asked "Are there any firmware update for the Aurora A8 USB-C? I don't like how a single press doesn't turn it on, you either have to hold the button down or double-click. There should be updates to let us use these in a better manner. Thanks." and the just responded with "No, you can't update it" ....no sorry or explanation. Another time I ordered 2 flashlights and emailed them to cancel one, they never responded to confirm, I had to wait and see the charges reversed and I was convinced they were just going to ship 2. Again, simple communication would have helped.

2023.04.01 07:10 4fivefive [Mando S3 Spoilers] How "Andor" actually ruined Star Wars for me. [Long Post]
allow me to preface this by saying that i was never expecting the mandalorian to have the same quality of writing or the same exact approach to tone as andor. it isn't exactly a very balanced expectation to have and the genre variety in star wars as a whole is incredibly healthy. no, my complaints aren't about the dialogue (though some of that could definitely be improved) or the acting (though, again, some of that could've been a lot better this season, especially).
where andor has ruined star wars for me has everything to do with direction.
MANDALORIAN SEASON 3 SPOILERS, BTW.
andor has some of the strongest tv directing i've seen in years. the visual elements in every scene and sequence are very clearly communicated to the viewer. individual story beats are paced incredibly well and done with a very clear understanding of escalation. camera movements and angles all feel very precise and motivated by what the directors of each episode wanted to communicate with their shots. in a show that's already packed to the brim with so many strengths, i feel like the quality of directing is genuinely towards the top of the list. the directing team that tony gilroy put together for the show did an impeccable job and deserve all the praise being heaped on them constantly.
the action in the show has also been fantastic (and, in a way, underrated for how well it's directed, seeing that most of the show's praise is rightfully also directed at its writing). hits feel properly weighty and carry with them a lot of visual punch. blasters feel genuinely deadly and i don't think i've ever gulped more seeing one of those things being pointed at someone. all of these add to the already excellent sense of tension exhibited by the show's directors in virtually every scene. every single flash of action from the warehouse firefight to the heist escape to the prison break to the riot sequence has felt so incredibly thrilling and engaging that i'm always down to go back and rewatch them.
so what does this have to do with mando??
i don't know what changed exactly in between the butcher house sequence in the book of boba fett and the most recent episodes, but something has definitely felt lacking in season 3, as far as directing is concerned. i've enjoyed some of the episodes a fair bit (episode 3 was probably my favorite), but a lot of the time, many of them have started to feel as though they were rushing to get to where favreau and filoni need everything to be. it's as though quite a few of these episodes were written with the ending first before having the rest of the story built around it, and this extends to some of the scenes as well.
in episode 1, for instance, we have a space dogfight that goes by way too quickly. we see mando get in his ship, be pursued for a little bit by these pirates, and then he outmaneuvers them and blasts them all out of the sky in quick succession. no tension, just mando doing awesome things, which is fine, i guess, but as a whole that action sequence just felt so... hollow. individual moments are hardly given room to breathe and these small actions pass by so quickly that they don't even get time to register completely.
contrast this with luthen escaping from the arrestor cruiser. we know he's gonna escape because we saw that in the trailers, but that doesn't mean the scene still can't have tension. it sets up the situation, gives room for the engagement to boil before ending in a satisfying pay-off that also communicates something about luthen's character and personality. that's good directing.
although where i think the mandalorian (and to an extent, other live-action sw shows but that's another topic) have especially fallen flat recently are the scenes involving action between the actual costumed characters. the battle sequence in episode 5 is divided into two distinct parts: the dogfight and the urban combat. the dogfight was pretty good this time around, but the on-the-ground fighting felt very inconsistent in a lot of places. there's more mandos-doing-badass-things (which, again, fine), and some of them do get shot, but so few of these hits felt as though there was any weight to them. the way some of these blaster bolts just gently singe someone makes them seem like peashooters or waterguns. i was hoping for a little more oomph in each bit of contact โ you know, make these weapons feel dangerous; make us afraid for these mandos after having them be all hyped up by a speech.
to me the funniest offender of this has to be the armorer's little moment to shine. there's a bit in the episode where the armor shows up in this room to take out some goons by way of dual-wielded hammers and... honestly this got a giggle out of me, partly because i was sorta hyped, but also because i thought it was a little silly. again, hardly any of these hits feel as though there's any weight being thrown behind them and this leads to a combat scene feeling more like play than anything else. on top of that, a lot of the shots in these combat sequences also go by a little too quickly or linger just a bit longer than should be comfortable. the show could be and has been so much better than this in the past.
granted, mando has its fair share of misses and dud episodes in the past, but at the very least, it was consistently engaging more often than not.
and when you compare some of these action sequences to those in andor, there's already a world of difference, especially when action has never been one of andor's key selling points.
and it isn't as though violence is out of the question for the mandalorian, and neither am i saying that i want mando to start ripping dudes in half the way people on the main star wars sub say they want an r-rated darth vader movie. all i'm saying is that i want the action and directing to be a whole lot better, because the mandalorian has had great action and directing before. i don't even have to think back very far โ i just have to look back at episode 1 of season 2.

Hello all. A couple of experienced A3 players and I have decided to start a new unit with a focus on accessibility and a low barrier of entry. From new players to old, we offer a small unit experience (17 people in the discord) comprised of Main Ops (Sundays but still trying to figure out scheduling) made by experienced mission makers, a 24/7 Antistasi server, and Fun ops based on whatever comedic themes yall desire. We are looking for new players to have fun and play with us for a Casual community experience, as well as players who have the knowledge and abilities to be officers or team leaders. Tez2, a reputable Rockstar insider has suggested on the GTA Forums that GTA 6 is likely to be released this year with a tentative release date of 2024.
According to my own reports which date back to June 2021, this seems to be the case. My sources have said that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been aiming for a 2024 release date for some time, but speculation and past reveal/release schedules of the likes of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 suggest the game will be delayed until 2025.
If I were to guess โ I believe the game would release in the holiday of 2025 instead of the spring.
As for when the announcement is made is unclear, but typically Rockstar Games likes to announce its big reveals on its own. So to set expectations, I wouldnโt necessarily expect the game to be announced at E3. Instead, I expect some form of reveal trailer in Q4 2023 to coincide with past reveals.
According to my own sources, one of the major reasons for such a long-winded โdelayโ is that GTA 6 will release on current-generation consoles only. With the tentative 2024 date being planned as far back as 2021, it was a means of ensuring that GTA 6 would have a sufficient console market to release on.
In late 2022, Rockstar Games had a security breach that resulted in over 70 videos on GTA 6 gameplay surfacing online. In its subsequent earnings call, Take-Two Interactive addressed investors to state that the leak was unfortunate, but they believe it had no impact on development.
โThereโs no evidence that any material assets were taken, which is a good thing, and certainly the leak wonโt have any influence on development or anything of the sort, but it is terribly disappointing and causes us to be ever more vigilant on matters relating to cybersecurityโ, it was said.
As for GTA 6, for now, weโll need to continue sitting tight and see what gets announced in the hopefully near future.

Apologies for the long story.
My mother in law isn't the only one in question here, but I am trying to understand her. I was trying to have a good relationship with her for my husband. MIL had mostly done small common MIL things. Unwanted tummy touching while I was pregnant, only asking about the baby, trying to be at the hospital uninvited (thank you covid proticols), and in general going overboard every time she is around my child. He is our first baby and their first grandchild, so I overlooked a lot. I think I shouldn't have.
Recently, we have been asking MIL and FIL to baby proof their house and put a fence around the pool. They want to babysit our son. We were considering it as we only have 2 days when we can't watch him ourselves. I even offered to buy the fence. Their house was so dangerous for a baby. I thought that MIL was trying while FIL was being just downright rude about it. Rolling his eyes when we would mention it and making faces. He told us when we explained that the baby was walking and climbing that "we didn't need to tell him every little thing the baby does." He also lied about redoing the pool.
Husband says that it's about control for FIL, so I had a chat with MIL and we stopped sending Baby over there for his safety temporarily. I told her, with Husband, that we felt like FIL was being disrespctful and disregarding Baby's safety. We told her that Baby is our son and that we do not want him to be somewhere unsafe or where that type of attitude could be taught to Baby. We wanted to be listened to as adults and Baby's parents. And we were are going to have Baby be taken care of elsewhere until our boundaries were respected.
MIL said a couple of questionable things during the conversation that made things uncomfortable. Such as pointing out my family dinamics were different. (I am very low contact with my own mother.) And saying that the pool fence was expensive even though I offered to buy it and put it up. She said she understood though and thinks I should talk to FIL face to face because it must be a misunderstanding. She also had not heard about 'redoing the pool' like FIL had claimed which I had pointed out would be more expensive than a simple fence.
We didn't hear from them for a couple of days. Today we got a message in the group chat from MIL that they are building the fence and what company they were using. But just to my husband she texted, "Please have Self (me) text me when she will allow me to babysit Baby again at her earliest convenience." He was not happy and responded to tell her that our desicion was a joint one. Husband and I are on the same page. He struggles to get parents to listen to him or treat him like an adult. We have been very stressed about their behavior and we don't know what to do. Any advice is welcome. As of right now Baby is not staying with them. We are looking into daycare and we are trying to stay away.

If your store does on average 300 amazons per day and 2-300 packages per day on end of day count, what do you think appropriate staffing would be per shift? Currently my store does just about that, during busy days we can do about 4-500 end of day count and 5-600 amazon returns, owner has 5 employees on the schedule, 2 full time and the rest are part time, 1 only works 2 days a week. As it stands we tend to do 2 person shifts. Most days 1 person gets unlucky enough to have to work 8-7, and god forbid someone calls in. Iโve been alone at the store for a few hours before. I am just looking for some opinions on what you think proper staffing would be for that type of volume. To put our volume into more perspective our center was top 10% in revenue for January-February of 2023 (of which the boss gave us 0 recognition, I found out via the email)
