Hey all, l am f{28) I recently bought a Honda shadow 97' 75 CC, 27k miles, for $1200. think it was a steal. Especially since it's my beginner bike and it won't hurt me too much if I drop it.. my question is, does anyone know if any work has been done to this by the pictures?
I am trying to learn more about bikes and mods and this bike is a great start. I don't know what the stock model has when it was first purchased, every picture I google is different. If anyone knows, could you help shed some light if there where any kind of upgrades? And or mods. I do plan to have a paint job and start modifying it the more I learn. Thank you!

This is my first time posting and selling an upper, so if my price is off then let me know.
I have a Lantac side charging upper with Lantac bcg, which the upper also works as a standard receiver using a charging handle. I originally had a BCA side charger and moved up to a Lantac. The barrel (forgot what brand along with gas block and tube) has about 300-400 rounds through it, upper and bcg has maybe 150 rounds on it. The side charger seems to have warped and doesn't screw onto the bcg, but still works as should with the (Randian Raptor blem) charging handle. I don't know where to get a replacement side charger, but the threads on the bcg look good. SLR Rifleworks ION 10.75" keymod handgaurd is a bit salty, bought from here, with linear comp (0 rounds, only installed) comes with odg Emissary Development handbrake.

Pre-rant disclaimer: I am by no means a top level player or even incredibly skilled, I’m just a guy that plays this game a lot and really loves it as a fighting game.
Ok, I get it, there’s some problems with this game when it comes to the hit-or-miss net code and the “Smurf” accounts and I’ve run into a few of those myself, but online or even ranked isn’t the only thing this game has to offer. The game at its core isn’t just hopping online and queuing up in ranked to boost your BP, there’s ring matches, casuals, offline local battle, story mode and even arcade (even tho the story is kinda mid IMO and the CPU’s can be a bit annoying to fight at times) if you don’t like the net code then don’t play ranked, queue in casuals or join a ring to just have some harmless fun without any points on the line. If you don’t have the best internet or you’re worried about someone Smurffing then find a buddy and start an offline local battle, I can tell you from experience that going to my friends house and playing some not so serious games is one of the most enjoyable things I’ve done with this game, and i guarantee you’ll get better if you do this. I’ve spent countless hours sat right next to one of my best friends in recent years going back and forth for dozens of games and I truly believe I’ve gotten better as a result. If you don’t have anyone you know that’ll spend long nights going round for round with you then hop on social media and find a group to join that’s full of like minded people who will, that’s the honest story to how I found my practice partner and I’m certain it can work for many more people. If you feel like you’re starting to plateau in skill then watch some YouTube videos and learn something new or even go into training mode and find it yourself, there’s plenty of content creators out there where you can get inspiration from. I’m kinda rambling on a bit longer than I planned but what I want everyone to know is that you can be a beginner or a pro with thousands of hours of practice, but there’s nothing stopping you from finding someone that’ll challenge you and help you improve. I hope some of you can take away the fact that there’s always options if you want something to enjoy about this game, I know I’ve found what I love about it, just go out there and have fun with it and don’t stress too much about what anyone else tells you in the end it’s still just a game and games are meant to be fun.

Currently a college student looking for jobs for the summer. I’m a girl with very short hair(a man’s haircut) and I also don’t wear makeup due to acne. I’m also mid sized but my fat distributes everywhere so I look very puffy. My fashion sense isn’t the best since my body doesn’t look good. I understand to fix all this, I have to diet and hit the gym but at the same time I’m tired of people judging others based on their outer appearance. Why does this one cost more

So my first thoughts were that the 48DCVR122 was the higher-end sub since it cost more
and I was assuming that compVR > compR otherwise I was/am unsure why a sub that pushes less power is going for more. However, I read online that Kicker compR was superior. If someone could explain why this one costs more would be appreciated.

Lastly if could hear feedback from you all about what Subwoofer I should get. I am aware I would def need a new amp for the compR however I think I can use the same amp for the compVR maybe not let me know your thoughts about that too, please. As well as if you all think a hybrid Prius could work with the compR Subwoofer

hi everyone!! I have been lurking on this sub for a while now and have seen so many beautiful quilts that have inspired me to start quilting myself!!
I was gifted a kenmore 385 a few months ago. shortly thereafter, I dove into the ins and outs of quilting. I made a few bowl cozies as a beginner project and thereby familiarized myself with the general process. as my next step, I’d like to start making quilt blocks out of scrap fabric to practice before I try making my first quilt. however, I’m having trouble finding clear tutorials on how to make quilt blocks. I’ve scoured the internet and the quilting book section at JoAnn’s, but I’ve found everything quite confusing. I’m not sure where to start and I’m overwhelmed by the complexity and sheer amount of these beautiful blocks!!
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for resources I could use to start making quilt blocks? any advice or guidance would be incredibly appreciated!! thank you!! :)

I’ve been having a lot of fun playing Lucio lately— especially on push maps! Usually I feel like I get asked to switch off him but recently it’s been good vibes. Using speed boost to rescue people from near death and taxi teammates from spawn is really rewarding. I saved my team’s Genji and Mei/Hanzo a lot last game. I even got thanks in chat!
I know Lucio doesn’t have the biggest healing output, but honestly speed boost makes some great saves I feel like it’s not valued enough sometimes for it’s utility in those crucial life or death moments— especially when I’m parkouring across the map to save a ninja from a mob. Denying that hungry enemy Moira or DVa that kill feels better than pulling off a Rez.

I am filling out my N-400 application where I entered my wife's and Children's information. All of us want to apply for citizenship. So, should me, my wife and son need to apply separately or just my N-400 is enough to apply on behalf of all of us?

I have played through the beginner challenges and color challenges and would like to buy a deck for myself tomorrow. A lot of the mini-projects online have to do with building games. Even though a few are interesting to me, like tic tac toe, it's not something i'm that interested in.

I recently took a test and got my results back. It was what I expected for the most part and got around 70% Levantine (Mount-Lebanon) which is pretty accurate as my family can trace its origin back to our region at least a millenium. I also got around 10% dispersed around different middle east regions as expected (peninsular Arab, etc.).
However, I got a mysterious 20% northern Italian and I am thinking this is too great to be ancient (like crusaders, etc.), right? It has to be a grandparent or a great grandparent?
The issue is that all of my grandparents and their parents are Lebanese. Is someone keeping a secret or is it possible that this is old DNA? My family may have traded with Italian states like 300-400 years ago so there may have been some interaction but otherwise I'm not sure why I would get these results.

My son just graduated highschool. He's 18 soon 19 in Aug. His entire highschool life he marginallly passed. He just graduated highschool with low 60s - that's considered Ds here. 59 and under is failing. Some people just don't do well in school I understand that.
Well down to the point: My husband (his step father who raised him -- real father is a deadbeat) and I have been asking him all school yr what is the plan for after highschool? College, trade school, military, job? He's held jobs like movie theater, kitchen help, car washing his teen life so far. He does have a car that we gave him but it broke down in February and cost $5000 to fix. My husband paid it and told him he had to pay it back at $400 monthly til it's paid off. Which is not a problem since my son did work.
Anyway: So since my son hasn't made up his mind we gave him options and been telling him since January. Reminding him of our expectations. It's now June first... Option 1: enroll in a trade school or college (we will pay for it) and get a part time job to pay your cell phone ($50) and car insurance ($100) and the loan for car maintenance ($400).
Option 2: join the military active duty - get a shipping date and you pay no bills while you wait to ship.
Option 3: you can have a job but you must pay rent every month of $400 - that's $100 weekly plus your car insurance, cell phone, and maintenance loan. (He has his own room).
The rent includes: Access and use of home and amenities (wifi food washer dryer soap toilet paper pool etc). We do not live poorly. And he can come n go with at least letting us know if he's not coming home so I don't worry.
He just quit his job that he started Tuesday 7-5pm job... Ok. No problem. But he would had already been fired if I didn't get up early to wake him up multiple times to go to work. And I'll probably have to wake him tomorrow too.
He isn't our only child. We have 7. 1 older son who since moved and 5 younger.
His response to all of the options was a blowoff. He currently doesn't do chores, house contributing, yard maintenance. Nothing except go to room n come out when hungry - make food leave mess - that he keeps a mess until we tell him to clean it. And only doesn't chores or anything nice for house or siblings when yelled at to do it ... Not a want to try to help out kind of thing.
I try to explain that he is now an adult. He can not take the summer for fun unless he is fully enrolled in school of something for fall. I understand he may not have a degree path yet but can start college taking all the basic classes first while he figures out if he's into business or what ever major in a yr...
I've also tried explaining to him - would he let someone live with him that was mentally and physically able to work or contribute in some way to his home that he pays for and works every day keep it live with him for free? He says he wouldn't. So I asked what's the difference... He said because he's my son. It hurts because he is my son, I love him, if I allow it, he will live with me forever work crap jobs and regret when he's 40 yr old why he didn't go to school when he was young so he won't struggle when he's old.
Anyway. We told him we needed his mind made up by June 1.. or rent on June 1 if he only wants to work.
It's bed time n no rent ... My husband says teach him the hard way n tell him he gotta move. My mom self is defensive and can't imagine kicking my son out. But I know in a way my husband is correct. My husband is a no bullshit or sugar coated man. My son is a "victim mentality dude" and blames everything on why he can't do something.
I'm thinking .. maybe one more month for him to give us his plan? I thought telling him go to school and you live here rent free and care free was a reward.... But I guess my son doesn't see that.
The arguments between me and my husband on teaching my son to be a better man have gotten so bad that it's like divorce in question if I don't figure out my son ASAP.. ..of course I don't want a divorce... Neither does my husband but eventually it will be that all over my son wanting to live with us (me) and not do anything to help us all or better himself... We have younger children this will affect if I "choose" my son and not my husband.
I need advice.... How do I make my son see the light???!!

After 10 years in the systems programming world, I'm at a point where it's more sensible for me to transition into something higher-level and relaxing. My time with various web-dev contractors has shown me that it can be a pretty nice job.
I'm getting older, I'd rather work from home, get nicer pay, and move away from some of the more intricate parts of programming. I'm not as fast as I used to be with math, and I'm pretty exhausted of thinking about memory and the hardware. I'd like to just write my code for my job, pump out reasonably good quality work, and do other things with me time. I'm no longer as interested as I used to be in the finer details.
Unfortunately, it seems like there are some painful languages in the more relaxing industries. Python is something I just cannot accept. I've written extremely long programs with it and I just cannot imagine how it's possible to maintain code and keep your sanity. There are 650 libraries to write the same function. Some of the design decisions based on OOP are genuinely insane. Everyone has an opinion on how things should be done and while PEP-8 exists, there is no standard for doing things outside of how many spaces to indent.
Javascript suffers from the same issues, but has the added nightmare of being the only game in town. 40 different frameworks that do the same thing that are completely incompatible and require a totally new way of writing and thinking. All because Chud wanted to create a startup, so he wrote a framework half a year ago, and it's already got 37,000 stars, an animal mascot with a cute name, and a cult following. "How do I solve this problem?" "Hah, well the problem is you're using React instead of Chud's Narwhal framework. Narwhal has added framed-in escapefences that are backward compatible with target-rendered https objects. Also, we were able to shave off three characters from the function that does the same thing as react. It's basically fucking game changing."
Are there languages, aspects of these languages, or spinoffs of these languages (e.g., typescript) that I'm just not considering? Go is exciting from a C standpoint, but there are no jobs; Rust is equally exciting, but there are no jobs. Ruby I'm unfamiliar with, but I don't think anyone is creating new Ruby projects. I'm open to Javascript if there are industries or spinoffs that are sane and care about standardization and writing good code that'll last more than 3 months until a new library is invented for no reason.

I'm a long-time solo traveller who's attending a wedding in London in September. I've always wanted to do a bike packing trip, but I have some concerns. My biking and camping experience is relatively low level, but I am fit and outdoorsy.
I have some friends in Oslo and thought I'd go visit them and bike down to London by September, but I have a few questions.
Financially, I have no limitations. I could stay in hotels, buy a nice bike, gear, and take as much time as needed. But, obviously I'd like to save money wherever possible, I'm quite frugal and low maintenance.
So, I have a few questions (Thank you all, in advance!):
Buying a bike in Norway: Would you advise against buying preowned and having a bike shop do some pre-trip maintenance on it? Or should I just buy new. As a beginner, is there any piece of gear that you'd specifically recommend to someone like me? I'm also willing to carry some extra weight for a more comfortable sleeping system, but I'll probably go with the most minimal tent I can find.
Timing/Scheduling: Is there an app that I could use to determine the time I'll need to do the trip depending on how much distance I'm doing each day?
Route: Anyone who has done this general area, are there any routes or destinations that you'd recommend? Any concerns regarding camping in these countries? (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, France, UK)
