2023.03.29 09:00 StepwiseUndrape574 4Chan Leak Allegedly Exposes GTA 6 Lead Characters And Key Map Details

A pair of leaks have turned up on 4Chan that claim to outline details of Rockstar's forthcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans of the franchise would do well to take these rumors with a grain of salt as there's no way to know for sure if any of these details are accurate. The leaker on 4Chan goes by Rhanadeng and claims to have been a friend of a disgruntled employee working on the game during 2019.
The source claims that this employee allegedly asked him to anonymously leak information about GTA 6. However, things later improved, and he lost contact with the Rockstar team member. One key detail is that this person also claims the game has been in active development since 2016 or 2017, with pre-production starting shortly after GTA V was ported to current generation consoles in 2014. The new GTA VI game world map is also claimed to be the size of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined.
gta v mission One of the odder bits that this 4Chan user details is a minigame where players control a stream of urine from a protagonist using motion controls. On the protagonist front, there are said to be four in the game, including a driver called Walther Wallace and an unnamed former Israeli IDF person. Another, Thomas Branigan, is a smuggler who owns an aircraft called the Raven, and Marcus Burke is a drug dealer and father to a young boy.
The area is said to be based in Florida, with Vice City among the three major cities with one smaller city in the far northwest of the map. The game reportedly jumps around in time with part of the timeline set in the 1980s and other parts set in the present day. Missions aren't as linear as they are in GTA V or RDR2, notes the proclaimed leaker. Players will briefly visit a small central American island, but it's reportedly not Guarma. The game starts with gamers playing the role of smuggler, Branigan.
gta v car Supposedly there are multiple child characters in the game that mainly interact with Burke and his son. Switching between the protagonists isn't said to be instantaneous, but the camera reportedly zooms out and travels quickly to where the protagonist the player wants to play is located. Sleeping Dogs-inspired parkour is involved in the game as well, but to a lesser extent without wall running. The leaker claims that weapons function more realistically in the game than they have in past titles. An example noted is rocket launcher back blast that ends up taking out an NPC in one of the missions, where the goal is to destroy a helicopter.
Hand-to-hand combat is supported and is said to be similar to Red Dead 2, with the leaker noting it's harder to fight hand-to-hand GTA VI than in GTA V. Player characters can also gain weight in the game, and it affects character attributes as it did in RDR2. Mori Kibbutz is also reportedly in the game, but not much else is detailed about his character.
This leak isn't the first that has surfaced about GTA 6. Last December, a user on reddit claiming to be a beta tester, leaked a bunch of alleged details of the game. In January, another leak claimed that the game would launch in 2021.

2023.03.29 08:45 bluesolur I GOT BACK IN. SCREW YOU FACEBOOK WITH YOUR AUTOMATIC 2FA .

Okay so this is what I did to get back into my account after Facebook turned on my 2FA and locked me out.
I sent them my IDs EVERYDAY. The scanning one DOES NOT WORK. On the options it gives you, you’ll need to click “don’t have these” so it doesn’t do the scanning shit. You can submit your IDs like that to get back in. Albeit you’ll need two things now. (Day one sent in my drivers license and school Id, then day two my school id and work badge)
I emailed privacy and disabled with the same exact things about my account. Kindly letting them know everyday how I wasn’t able to log in because of the 2FA glitch.
Basically, annoy the hell out of them. It’ll make them give you what you want. It made them actually check my IDs and allowed me to turn off 2FA temporarily to get back in.

2023.03.29 08:42 StepwiseUndrape574 Mexican Drug Cartels Apparently Think Skilled GTA Online Players Make Great Meth Mules

I have no personal frame of reference for this opinion, but I imagine being a drug runner for the Mexican cartel (or any cartel) is loads more fun in a video game setting than in real life. The latter pays more I'm sure, but the stress, risk to life and limb, and persistent threat of jail time have me convinced to stick with legal employment. Not so for some GTA Online gamers who thought it a good idea to become meth mules.
It sounds wild (because it is), but apparently drug cartels sometimes use online multiplayer video games as a source for new blood. Back in October of last year, for example, Mexico's assistant public safety secretary, Ricardo Mejía, said a cartel recruiter purchased bus tickets for three teenagers between 11 and 14 years old.
The recruiter found the teens on Garena Free Fire, a popular online game, and offered them each $200 per week to serve as lookouts for the cartel. Authorities detained the teens before they boarded the bus, but Mejía told ABC News that other cartels have also recruited drug mules and lookouts through video games, including Call of Duty, Gears of War, and Grand Theft Auto V.
Now three months later, Forbes says it discovered that US officials have evidence showing GTA Online is also used as a recruitment tool for drug cartels.
It's not clear how long this has allegedly been going on, but according to the site, border agents stopped and inspected a Jeep Cherokee in Arizona last November and found almost 60 kilograms of methamphetamine. The driver, Alyssa Navarro, said a man named George first contacted her in GTA Online, through which they got to know each other over time.
Those in-game chats later pivoted over to Snapchat, where George raised the idea of being a runner, albeit for electronics to be sold in Mexico. Navarro claims she was offered up to $2,000 per trip, depending on the size of the load.
The only problem for Navarro is that the cartel allegedly hid meth in the Jeep's fuel tank. Authorities have charged Navarro with conspiracy to import and sell meth, and also possession, charges for which she has pleaded not guilty.
It remains to be seen how that case will turn out. Suffice to say, though, if someone online propositions you for an offer that seems too good to be true—or is outright illegal—it's best to politely decline.

800V electric vehicle charging becomes the mainstream and adopts SiC power electronics

The demand for electric vehicle (EV) power electronics will grow dramatically over the next decade, mainly driven by the rapid growth of the BEV vehicle market, which IDTechEx forecasts to grow at a global compound annual growth rate of 15% over the next decade . At present, the weighted average capacity of pure electric vehicle batteries is increasing everywhere, putting pressure on the battery supply chain and bringing uncertainty. As a result, drive cycle efficiency must become a top priority in powertrain design, which means that the age of high voltage wide bandgap (WBG) power electronics has arrived.
The new IDTechEx report "Electric Vehicle Power Electronics 2023-2033" provides a detailed breakdown by voltage ( 600V, 1200V), and semiconductor type (Si, SiC, GaN) segmented unit sales, GW, and USD demand forecast for inverters, on-board chargers (OBC), and DC-DC converters.
While Si IGBTs have dominated medium and high power devices for 20 years, including in EV power electronics, they are giving way to a new generation of WBG materials: SiC and GaN. This will fundamentally affect the design of new power devices, including packaging materials, as there is a trend towards high voltage and high power density modules operating at higher temperatures.
The two drives that are often mentioned from 350-400V to 800V and beyond are DC Fast Charging (DCFC) at higher power levels, such as 350kW, and drive cycle efficiency gains. DCFC compatibility is a relatively weak driver today due to low availability compared to AC chargers and high costs associated with 800V infrastructure. In fact, the IDTechEx report "Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles and Fleets 2022-2032" estimates that there will be about 3 million AC charging installations in 2022, compared to about 50,000 DCFCs above 100kW. Also, higher levels of DCFC will not necessarily drive the transition to 800V, although it is more optimal. Tesla is a good example, deploying a 250kW supercharger, but not beyond its 350V platform.
The efficiency argument for 800V is stronger. This allows reducing Joule losses and reducing the size of high voltage cables. Combined with SiC MOSFETs, it typically leads to a 5-10% efficiency gain, which could create a competitive advantage by shrinking the size of expensive batteries, saving costs or increasing the range of vehicles.
However, this is a challenging time for the automotive industry, with 800V adoption running into some pitfalls in 2022. The Lucid Air, the first 900V production car, will sell around 7,000 in 2022 after an initial target of 20,000. Porsche's Taycan is also among the OEM's best-selling models in Europe between 2020 and 2021, but sales are down in 2022. Both are the result of ongoing parts shortages and supply chain challenges, such as wire harness shortages and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Hyundai, on the other hand, is demonstrating the success of the 800V platform. Sales of the company's models using the 800V E-GMP platform in South Korea more than doubled to about 70,000 a year, driven by the popularity of the IONIQ 5 and Kia's EV6. This brings the 800V automotive market out of the luxury car market for the first time and into the mainstream car market primarily. To support rapid growth, Hyundai is diversifying its SiC supply partnerships, signing new agreements with Onsemi and STMicroelectronics in 2022, adding to existing relationships with Infineon and Vitesco.
China has also signaled the transition to 800V vehicles, with major OEMs setting out development plans for 2022, including BYD, Xpeng Motors, Great Wall Motors, GAC, and others. These vehicles are likely to use SiC MOSFETs, allowing the SiC industry to enter the world's largest electric vehicle market, as China will sell more than 6.5 million electric vehicles in 2022.
While the 1200V SiC MOSFET (adopted in 800V vehicle platforms) will play a key role in optimizing drive cycle efficiency, it is still only one piece of the puzzle. Driving cycle efficiency can be improved in many ways, from improved battery chemistry to solar bodywork, fewer high voltage cables per vehicle, 600V SiC, improved motor design and more. Automakers are tasked with striving to continuously improve overall drive cycle efficiency to ensure batteries are not undersupplied.

2023.03.29 08:33 L_J_C_MAG1 DoorDash Tips Question

I’m not entirely too sure how everything works for DD, but what is considered a good tip for the drivers?? I feel like a $5 on a <$10 order is a lot, but at the same time $2 for the 20% of my total seems too minimal and not worth it for the driver. That’s just an example I made, whatever DD auto picks as the tip, I round up to make it an even dollar total. But what’s your insights on this topic, especially drivers!

2023.03.29 08:14 Arktikos02 Did my mom commit some kind of fraud or something? [AZ US]

Hello. I am from Arizona USA. So this is what happened. My mom took me to the Social security office. She wanted to transfer payee privileges from me to her. So we are at the office and we get over to the window. The guy behind the window says that he needs to see some form of identification and I just shake my head because I don't want to. I don't want to give payee privileges over. I didn't want to go but like I was sort of being pressured into it. I refuse to hand over any kind of ID, passport, driver's license, anything. My mom then takes out a picture, a scanned picture of my photo ID. I don't have a driver's license I just have an ID. So she takes out this piece of paper that has the picture of my ID. It's not even the correct ID anymore as I had moved. So it has the wrong address on it. She shows this to the guy and that was enough for him to essentially say that things could proceed forward despite the fact that I was blatantly and clearly saying that I didn't consent to any of what was going on.
I don't consent.
I was saying those words. I don't know what to do about that. It was so long ago. It was months ago. I don't really know what I can do now.
It's really just her word against mine or I guess but like I don't really know what to do.
Like again it wasn't even the correct ID.
And just to tell you I did go back to the Social security office at some point to try to appeal it but the appeal didn't go through.

2023.03.29 08:11 LazyMathematician404 PIXEL 7 removes Removes Display Over HDMI?

I have a Pixel 7 and am wondering why doesn't it it allow you to Use USB C to HDMI cables (IE show your phone screen wired)?
Because I used that regularly for work and checked BEFORE getting my pixel if it had USB 3.0. BC if it had USB 3.0 normally any USB 3.0 speed port on a mobile device supports it. That was the reason I bought the pixel over a A53 for example. It was the deciding factor. So imagine my shock when I find out unlike any other 3.0 device I had, it doesn't work. Like I want to confirm as based on a single random reddit post that Google disables it on the KERNEL LEVEL apparently. Which is something I want confirmation on. There is a locked google form post abt it where they sidestep the question. I cant wrap my hear around that They put actual effort and resources into removing that feature which I use weekly. They say Display link adapters work... That's the only way. DisplayLink adapters start at quite literally over 300 U.S dollars.
And the only reason they work as per my understanding is that it literally provides the power itself and bypasses HDMI ALT mode. Meaning it bypasses it regardless the device support. But it's a very big heavy adapter that starts at $300. Not only that but I am also disappointed to learn that casting to my Roku, Amazon fire, or Miracast TV's didn't work. The only thing that is supported is Chromecast (and that refuses to connect to my Android TV and disconnects often too). Did Google also remove Miracast? Which I know is something the old $200 phones in 2015 did. It's quite the crazy coincidence that Google owns Chromecast. I'm sure none of this has any correlation. But hey it just so happens to mean that in order to connect my phone to a device its software has to be owned and licensed by Google.... Then it would *probably* work fine. Needless to say this has ruined my Pixel 7 for me, as this is a necessary use case. Which is quite the shame as I have been recommending Google phones for friends from the Nexus 5 days. Thank you all for the help in advance.

2023.03.29 07:58 Kismetamorphosis Inappropriately refused scheduled paratransit, dispatcher didn't even check if my pass was approved.

I was recently approved for paratransit because I have cptsd and because of that I have severe agoraphobia. If I can't hardly take my own garbage out to the street, I sure as hell can't walk to a bus stop a mile away and back. Yesterday I was doing my usual, I got ready for college classes and prepared to take my bus. Routine bus, been on five rides so far. I have a bus pass through my college that pays my fare(rediculous to charge a disabled person with no income for bus fare, but thats the USA for you.) As normal, I got in and sat down. My pass should've been on the manifest.
However, people have no bounds to the level of bullshit they will go to to kick disabled people down when they think they're finally getting a leg up in the world. Presenting the worst morning in a long while;
Guy asks me for my fare or a ticket. I said I don't need it, I have an approved pass.
"Kay. Can I see fare or a ticket?" I show him on the back of my pass where it reads, 'unlimited paratransit eligable,' and he goes... wait for it, "Yeah I've never seen that before so uh, fare or ticket."
I tell him, I have been approved for this by a supervisor officially with the local bus, it should be there. "Yyyeah I don't see anything, fare or ticket."
I tell him to call dispatch and show him the email exchange where photo evidence of my pass was sent and approved, "Yeah sorry, I'm gonna need fare or ticket or you have to get off the bus."
I'm nearly in tears so I tell him I've been on five rides in the last week and nobody else had a problem with my pass, "Fare or ticket."
I tell him contact dispatch then, because they should know. They should have access to the information. He does, he calls dispatch, dispatch doesn't bother to check at all, "tell her she needs to have fare or ticket"
I just tell him to check again.
Dispatcher responds in not nearly enough time to have even glanced my account, "Yeah seeing nothing, fare or ticket."
I call the bus customer service and tell them that the driver is refusing me. I have it on speaker. Phone guy says, without checking, "The rules say fare or ticket." Didn't check my account.
I tell him I have an approval from (names the supervisor who approved my pass). He fights me on contacting a supervisor to clarify the problem, and I only got him to do it after asking five times in a row, "Oh, uh, yeah it looks like something's here actually, Please hold" Puts me on hold to finally contact the supervisor.
During the time I was on hold, the driver opens the bus door, and forces me to get off the bus or he would "have to do something about me"
I said, "FINE, get out of here then, I don't want to see it. I don't want to see your face. Good luck when this comes back around," which was Admittedly a bit rude, but honestly a million times less rude than either of them had been to me that morning. They had it coming, I'm not sorry.
On the way out I hear him mumble something something "karen."
Less than a minute later paratransit customer service comes back online, and it's the supervisor there to say, "Yes, I can see right here that you have been approved."
Too little too late. I then had to fight with them to replace the ride I was refused, because I was supposed to go to a college class, I couldn't afford a cab considering I cant afford a 3.25 bus pass without giving up toilet paper, and it was a lab class no less where attendance and participation are my entire grade for the day.
While doing that, I told them I wanted a written permission I can bring to make sure that this never happens again. Three. THREE people failed to look for an obvious note in a row, to even try. I had to fight them on that too, they eventually submitted the request in the form of a complaint and I guess I'll just have to wait until someone decides they care enough to trouble themselves with it, or not.
The new bus driver arrives 20 minutes later than projected. Parks on the opposite side of the street to pick up an agoraphobe. Oh. Mygod. Took another 10 minutes for him to realize he wasn't on the right side of the street.
I was late to class, big surprise. My professor proceeded to verbally make an example of my 'BAD BEHAVIOR' over not letting him know if you're going to be late to the entire room to which I interrupted him, "Uh, yeah. I sent you an email over an hour ago when it happened, did you read it?"
*y...you did? Ahm, uhm, yes well-" I kept talking, "Yeah, my bus pass was illegally refus-" starts talking over me about INTERRUPTING PRESENTSTIONS BLAH BLAH."
I didn't say anything, but I wanted to say, "do not make an example of me if you didnt even bother to look. I was sobbing all morning trying to get here, I didn't need to be publicly embarassed twice today."
I don't know if he docked me points today or if he permitted my tardiness, because he grades non-traditionally and I won't see my next grade until the semester ends. I gave him a note that explained so I could get to working on the exercises for the day, I think I saw him read it. I have no way of knowing if he docked me the points anyway. He knows I'm disabled and that I have struggled to get to my classes on time in the past because of my condition. He should have realized why it was inappropriate to say that.

2023.03.29 07:57 StepwiseUndrape574 Watch GTA 5 Morph Into A Photorealistic Sim With Machine Learning Sorcery From Intel

Some people are concerned about games like GTA 5 affecting peoples' behavior in real life, but what if those games actually looked like real life? Researchers at Intel Labs may have figured out how to do just that using machine learning to make rendered footage look photorealistic. This technology could just bring gaming into a new era if it is used in the wild.
Since the dawn of video games, people have been trying to make them as realistic as possible to achieve the most immersive experience. PC and console hardware has grown over time as well, which nicely complements this goal. Take, for example, the Tomb Raider games, the original of which looks to us more like a Cubism art piece versus what we have now. It seems that things have somewhat stagnated, though, as Moore’s Law can only take you so far on hardware, and the equivalent law in software can only go so far as well. However, Intel Labs researchers may have found a way to circumvent any traditional notion of what a game looks like by using machine learning techniques.
lara croft gta v looks like real life with machine learning techniques from intel labs Tomb Raider I Released In 1996
The Intel Labs team’s project abstract describes how they can enhance synthetic images through a convolutional network, which is a type of deep neural network. This neural network was trained using the rendered images from the game alongside intermediate rendering buffers (G-Buffers), which “provide information on the geometry, materials, and lighting in the scene.” The G-Buffered are processed and used as input for the image enhancement network “where they are used to modulate image features.” While there is a lot more that goes into it, this work culminates in the footage you see below from GTA 5.
Play
If we did not know it was from GTA 5, it would be hard to tell that it was not real. Of course, some minor issues appear, such as license plates becoming a blurry mess, but that pales compared to the rest of the video. Besides, are you looking at license plates while driving around in GTA? In any case, this sort of technology is wild, and we cannot wait to see where it goes. If you are as excited as we are, let us know what you think about it in the comments below.

2023.03.29 07:12 dizzytaquito How can I make the right choice?

In better words, how can I make the most RATIONAL choice? My eyes are watering a little as I write this because I am so tired of being in this "freeze" mode for over six months. I find it so hard to make simple decisions. I know my mother is tired of hearing me rant and not take action, so I'm looking for advice here.
I've had a quarter-life crisis since I turned 25 last year. I graduated from college and didn't know what my next step was. I went through all my savings as I tried to figure that out. Additionally, I'd just come out (as bisexual) and had left my high-demand religion. So, I just wanted to start over.
I eventually moved to a city where I did not know anyone except my roommate. I don't know why I thought that would be a good idea. I immediately felt lonely and regretted my decision. Not knowing how to drive didn't help, but I got a driver's license and a car (I'm still working on learning to drive, as I got in a crash prior to buying the car). I worked a dead-end job unrelated to what I graduated in for a couple of months until I couldn't take it anymore and quit. For a few weeks, I took a small trip to see my cousin, which helped subsidize the pervasive loneliness.
Now, I don't know my next step. I'm currently being considered for a job that is exactly in my field. However, that wouldn't start until June. I'm also applying to graduate schools and might study online, depending on how everything goes.
Additionally, I accepted a one-year, paid volunteer position at an organization in my city that could help me get more experience for my career path. However, I'm still unsure if it's exactly what I need for my desired career. It doesn't pay much and would make it difficult for me to meet ends. Also, I am just tired of being in this area.
On the other hand, I could move back to my college town and be around people I know for a bit. I have felt so isolated for the past 8 months. It would be so nice to be social again. I could work and save money while I waited for the potential job in June to start.
Please let me know what you think I should do or how I can make the right decision for myself. I was recently informally diagnosed, by a therapist, with ADHD, and I think that might be why I struggle so much to make decisions. I feel like most of my decisions aren't the best, either. I don't know what to do. I want to make the decision that's most logical, but that also brings me the most peace and happiness. I haven't left my apartment in over a week. I feel so lost. Thanks for your time.
