I've been reading on human cognition lately, specifically on working memory, and wanted to make a simple post for anyone who's enthusiastic about it and wants to understand working memory better. That being said, the text, although informative, might be a bit dry.
Working memory is a term that refers to how humans maintain information in their minds while also processing information at the same time. The mere maintenance of information, without any processing, is what's called short-term memory. This distinction isn't universal.
Binding
In short-term memory, a datum is bound to another datum so that when that first datum is rehearsed, the other datum, which was bound to it, can also be rehearsed. A binding acts as a glue between two separate pieces of information.
Data can be of many kinds. I'm sure you're familiar with the Digit Span test, from the CAIT, where you have to remember a series of digits. This kind of data (digits), in the primary context of the Digit Span test, is phonological. By phonological, it's meant that the digits are represented as speech sounds (the pronunciations of the digits). Digits can also be stored in visual short-term memory, as graphical characters, but in the CAIT you only hear speech sounds. The maintenance of phonological and visual information in short-term memory is dissociated, which means being good at remembering speech sounds doesn't mean you'll be just as good at remembering shapes and colors, and vice-versa. This domain specificity of short-term memory is well documented.

Same situation, which is odd given that I sold pets and furniture there before.
My wife suggested that my prices are too high for the platform. Really!? Does everyone on Facebook expect pricey sculptures and vintage glassware to go for $20!?
Let’s take the elephant sculpture as a prime example. After going broke to get it, my gift recipient rejected the elephant. Not their style. Subtracting the outrageous shipping puts the actual price at $1500. Price too high, eh? Consider the details: 12 x 12 inches, carved with unprecedented detail on Red Jasper stone, by an award-winning artist. Why would I sell RARE GENUINE ART below its value after pouring that much money into it!?
Another example: the large Precious Moments sculpture that also wound up a costly gift reject. I paid $260 for that thing (excluding shipping), hence the price. The box was never opened. It’s as new as the day it arrived on my doorstep plus a collector’s item. Why sell lower than its actual price, given its pristine condition!?
Even the used items are expensive. Those vintage flute glasses cost Mom a LOT back in the day. Perfect condition, large, impossible to find anymore and there are 12 OF THEM. Why not sell the set for at least $250?
Must I become an eBayer to get rid of these items for an appropriate price? I loathe eBay’s fees.

I like you, we’ve been inseparable for like 3 years now” I got back a reply that he was not interested in anything and that we were basically just really good friends (still got weird vibes but began to accept it was never going to be more, I slowly started to distance myself and move on)
2-3 years later (he had came up to see me at school two or three times but nothing ever happened)
I moved home to the same town he lived in after college and again OG started talking to me constantly, I went over to his house a few times, and one night he sent me a text telling me “you can come over and smd and we can mess around if you want” I was annoyed and frustrated so I just ignored him as I didn’t want to be some fling since he was kind of a manwhore.
I shortly started casually dating, he of course found out (our families are friends and his older brother is my dads bestfriend) he would constantly pick on me and tell me not to be hoeing around and that I was a floozy and I shouldn’t be dating.

He eventually started calling me Indiana because I spent time at his apartment out of state.
During the time I started dating my current boyfriend, I completely stopped talking to OG, bound and determined that it wasn’t going anywhere and I needed to move on.
He got a job transfer and met a girl that he is currently still dating. Fast forward like 2-3 years and at his brothers wedding he made his girlfriend stand up and like proclaimed his love for her and said she was the love of his life 🙄 when the speeches were finished he didn’t go see his girlfriend he came to my table, knelt down and put his hand on my leg— super awkward but I honestly don’t like his girlfriend and I wasn’t going to start anything at his brothers wedding.
The morning after the wedding his girlfriend was out of town to see her kid, and when I got to the venue to help clean up he immediately came and hugged me. After the wedding he would talk to me on and off— but seldomly.
About a year and a half ago my boyfriend got a job across the country, and I was planning to move once my lease was up. Since the April Humble Choice launches on April 4th, predictions will be open until April 3rd. So only 5 days to get those guesses in! (sorry :< )

- Post a maximum of 15 game predictions. If you post more, only the first 15 posted will count, even if you predicted a game as your #16.
- Please, make sure to spell game names correctly. Otherwise, they might get overlooked by the search function.
- All versions of a game, like standard and deluxe, will be considered to be the same. If a Choice includes a deluxe version, you don't lose or gain points for not guessing it was the deluxe.
- Feel free to edit your comment at any time, but not later than a week after the Prediction League was posted.
- If you guessed a leaked game before the leak happened, your guess(es) will remain valid and will still count for points.
- If you submit your prediction after the leak or edit your comment to include a leaked game, those games will not count for any points. Purposely using leaked games may also remove your previous points from the leaderboard.
- Each correctly predicted game is worth 2 points.
- Predicting three or more games in a single round is worth 2 additional points.
- Being the only person to correctly predict a game is worth 1 point.
- Predicting a game in the same series as one included in choice is worth 1 point. For example, guessing Dark Souls II will grant 1 point if Dark Souls III is in Choice. However guessing Sekiro does not grant a point if Elden Ring was included, since they don't share a name.
- Look at past Humble Choices and recent bundles. Humble doesn't usually repeat these games, so they don't make for good guesses.
- Look for recent freebies on sites like Epic or Amazon Games. Many games have been given away there, and then go to Humble a couple months later.
- Games that have gone on sale recently.
- Think big and small! Humble Choice headlines some large titles, but also includes smaller indies.
- New releases probably won't be included, think of titles released a year or two back.
- When in doubt, copium. If you've run out of ideas, you could put games from your wishlist and hope they appear in Choice.
